This is a question Bullies

My mum told me to stand up to bullies. So I did, and got wedgied every day for a month. I hated my boss.

Controlling bullies
My eldest daughter was bullied at secondary school, The perpetrator was a fat ugly dim badly-dressed waste of DNA from a reputedly "hard" family. As my then wife was training to be a teacher, she urged, nay begged me to "go through the proper channels" so I did.

The teachers were worse than useless. In their own inimitable self important smug way (like all teachers) they went through the motions and even began to imply that the bullying was somehow my daughter's fault! I'd let my wife attend the meetings, she'd come back with some buzzword-laden "strategy" that they'd come up with and all would be well for a day or so, then my daughter would be back home crying her eyes out terrified to go back. When she started stuttering, screaming when the 'phone went (I later discovered that the scumbag had a habit of ringing her just to tell her what was going to happen the next day) I took control.

I arranged a meeting with the laughingly-designated "discipline committee" and the head teacher. I'd checked the relevant law regarding "In loco parentis", assault and battery etc and was ready to do my famous "Control the meeting from the start and PERSONALISE the complaint" strategy* and boy was I ready for them!

The meeting started with the head inroducing himself and the members of the panel. I didn't smile, just looked at each one whilst taking down their names. They didn't like that.

They also didn't like me taking down everything they said, in silence.

They also didn't like me referring to my notes, writing down everything they did (like leaning over to their neighbours and whispering) and demanding "One meeting, if you have anything to say it will be recorded in my notes, otherwise this meeting is over and we'll carry on at the police station".

All the staff were very nervous at the sight of this suited and booted, calm, polite, articulate and above all well-prepared (I'd been a governor at this school just 2 years before) parent rocking their belief in their omnipotence.

The head, after his speech said "Well Mr A****, how do you feel about our revised strategy"?

"It won't work"

"I think you'll find"..........I cut the twat off with

"It won't work because it's not going to happen".

One smarmy twat started to say "I think you'll find......"

I cut HIM off with " Shut up and listen"!

"What is going to happen is this:- YOU (pointing at the head) WILL remove this thug from your school - today".

"I can't do that!"

"In that case I have already instructed my solicitor to issue personal proceedings against each and every teacher that was "In loco parentis" of my daughter when she was assaulted, for professional negligence, I have their names here".

A chorus of "BUT but, I never" etc etc

"Furthermore" I said, calmly "YOU (pointing to the head) are the head of this organisation, therefore the main buck stops with you".

Twat thought I was bluffing.

I never bluff.

The very next LESSON, the dna waste was excluded. After "careful consideration" she was sent to a secure unit school where, two years later she was raped and eventually killed herself.

Result!

I've said it before.

Don't fuck with my daughters.

the moral of my story is this, if your kids are being bullied at school go for the teachers PERSONALLY. The spineless smug lazy bastards expect to be cotton-wooled through their cushy career and think they can just sweep anything under the carpet.

Wrong!

Protect the weaker kids, remove the scum and Joe Public will leave you alone. Don't do as above and we'll come for you - personally.
Teachers are all bullies (except Mr A who gave me a love of maths and Engineering, Mr T who was ex military and gave REAL guidelines on behaviour, and Miss B who gave me my love of language.) and expect respect from whoever they meet, just because they are a teacher.

Respect is earned and they, as a profession, have a very long way to go.

*even my boss is impressed when I go into "unreasonable" mode.

Yes, I find it pleasing when the mentally ill are sexually assaulted and die as well.

I just hope that the rapist didn't get jizz stains in their Accord.

What a pile of shit.

(, Fri 15 May 2009, 11:36, closed)
It's hardly karma is it
get brought up by a "bad" family, unsurprisingly pick up their bad habits, and you'll be violently sexually assaulted and final commit suicide.

I dread to think what will happen to you next time you bump into someone on the street or cut them up in traffic.

Maybe just a bit of non consensual sodomy in an alley. Or having a member of your family shot. That would seem fair.
(, Fri 15 May 2009, 11:39, closed)
I can't think of anything particularly smart to say in response to that,
so I'll just call you a dick,
you dick.

Odd that someone needs to point this out to you but,
Bullying ≠ rape and death

especially for a child

(, Fri 15 May 2009, 11:47, closed)
Yes. A 'man' with daughters
thinks it's ok for a female child to be raped. In fact, he encourages it.

That's some fairly sinister shit.
(, Fri 15 May 2009, 11:52, closed)
I think it's also funny that he's now divorced from his wife
which will probably do more lasting damage to his daughter than the bully ever did.

he should be raped.

Actually no

(, Fri 15 May 2009, 15:43, closed)
Good on you for standing up to them
but I think you'll find that not all teachers are twats.

Fact is that there are things they can and can't do. My fiance is a trainee teacher at a primary school, and she is not *allowed* to physically intervene when, for instance, one child is beating the shit out of another.

I also knew someone who was physically knocked out by one of their pupils, and was 'urged' (by the head) to write it up as an accident despite the fact that the little shit clearly knew what they were doing.

Their job is much, much harder than it looks.
(, Fri 15 May 2009, 11:30, closed)
I once pinned one of your daughters against the wall in my Honda Accord and bullied her.

Normally I'd post something about how despicable you must be to think that and then pity you for a bit afterwards.

(, Fri 15 May 2009, 11:51, closed)
So he should have just let his daughter get bullied then?
*rare serious moment*

Before a lot of people get on their high horses about this, ask yourselves what you would do if it were your child, or younger sibling in the same situation?

If it were one of my stepsons on the receiving end of abuse from a peer, I'd want the perpetrators excluded too. I'm not saying I take any pleasure reading that the perpetrator eventually killed themselves, far from it, so far as I'm concerned there are two victims here. I am genuinely saddened to read that the girl concerned didn't mend her ways and go on to lead a productive life.

But to vilify someone for making the individuals responsible for the care and safety of their child during school hours actually do their job?
(, Fri 15 May 2009, 11:52, closed)
That's not what the negative responses are about though
They are vilifying the great pleasure he's taking in the fact that a disturbed child was raped and then committed suicide. That's in addition to the stream of abuse aimed at teachers, who are doing a very difficult job, with very little support from parents or the government.

Getting her expelled is fine, taking the teachers to task for not doing enough is also fine. Everything after that, totally wrong.
(, Fri 15 May 2009, 12:00, closed)
this
it's the happiness about THE RAPE AND SUICIDE OF A CHILD that's more than a little disgusting.

Totally agree with PJM.

It's a tragedy that the bully was raped and later killed herself but fair play to the Captain for protecting his daughter.

Cheers

You're welcome.
Hang on, what?

I should have known that PJM would have been first on the scene to put everything into perfect perspective.

Sir, your intelligence, compassion and supreme ethical perspective are both astonishing and humbling.

Couple that with the fact that you are a dead good looking 'Action Man' type and it just makes me want to hit you over the head with a breeze block in a fit of jealous rage.

Whilst I appreciate your strong wish to protect your daughter (as any decent parent would) describing the rape & death of another child, even if they were the one who had bullied yours is nothing to be celebrated.

I hope there is some form of karma - not for your daughter but for you - you utterly revolting disgraceful waste of cunting oxygen. I don't normally wish bad things on others but I hope you get buggered senseless & end up dying a long, slow, extremely painful death from AIDS you fucking cunt wank shit stain CUNT.

(, Fri 15 May 2009, 12:05, closed)
Hmmm
I notice Captain hasn't posted to defend his comments.

A slight change would make it look not quite so bad

"The very next LESSON, the dna waste was excluded. After "careful consideration" she was sent to a secure unit school (where two years later she was raped and eventually killed herself)"

By placing the relevant section in brackets it gives the comment on the rape and suicide the appreance of after thought, stated for info purposes.

I think this is what was intended. Depite his anger I seriously doubt he took any pleasure from the rape and suicide of minor no matter what provocation.
(, Fri 15 May 2009, 12:14, closed)
He could remove the 'result!'
which is the most foul part of it. It wouldn't help though, it's done AND quoted now.
(, Fri 15 May 2009, 12:15, closed)
So you missed the "Result!"

(, Fri 15 May 2009, 12:16, closed)
Nope, I didn't miss the "result"
I just don't think it was meant to be attributed to the comment on the rape and suicide.
(, Fri 15 May 2009, 12:18, closed)
I'm hoping he didn't mean it in the way it's being read.
Unfortunately the tone of the whole thing and following sentences admonishing all teachers etc leads me to believe he probably did.

OOer is all I can say.
(, Fri 15 May 2009, 13:24, closed)
Agreed.
I certainly hope this was the case.

(, Fri 15 May 2009, 12:14, closed)
Agree!
I completely agree with all sentiments expressed in your post.
Yes it was a complete result that that waste of oxygen (and inevitably taxpayers/my money)
Fuck the whole fucking lot of them, excellent work for standing up for your daughter, I would do the same.
(, Fri 15 May 2009, 12:20, closed)
It's PC gone mad.
If someone upsets my daughter I DEMAND the right to rape them, it's the only way they'll learn.

I'm glad that the accord has leatherette seats that wipe down.
(, Fri 15 May 2009, 12:22, closed)
Some good points raised in comments.
I especially like all the people who say, "Being pleased when someone is raped and commits suicide is wrong. That's why I hope you get raped and commit suicide."
(, Fri 15 May 2009, 12:22, closed)
I don't want him to get raped
I'm just wondering if he'll think it's such a 'result' if that were to ever happen to one of his precious, angelic spawn.

(, Fri 15 May 2009, 12:29, closed)
no, rape and suicide is a good thing. Didn't you pay attention?
It's all mentally ill children are good for. Well, except being the target for an apparently adult male's bile.
(, Fri 15 May 2009, 12:31, closed)
Well
"So either he jizzed this onto the internet without a second thought and no re-reading (fairly stupid) or he thinks the rape and suicide of children is good (fucking stupid)"

I sincerely hope it's the former and I do agree with the sentiment you expressed there. You acknowledge that it may have been illconceived phraseology. I know the poster personally and am willing to give him the benefit of my doubt.

However, surely "How dare you condone something as awful as rape! People like you should be raped!" ranks pretty highly on the list of hypocritical righteous indignation.
(, Fri 15 May 2009, 13:06, closed)
I really don't want him to be raped.
I'd just like him to understand how disgusting he sounds. Seriously, if they were handing out breeding licenses, I'd like to not give them to the man desperately trying to prove his machismo by any means necessary, even condoning the sexual violation of children.
(, Fri 15 May 2009, 13:08, closed)
He deserves
the karma of being raped himself purely for celebrating that it had happened to someone else ("Result!") which is dispicable.
(, Fri 15 May 2009, 12:27, closed)

(, Fri 15 May 2009, 12:23, closed)
for standing up to an establishment who, in the face
of a lot of evidence that the measures they were talking were at best ineffective, at worst damaging and encouraging to the bully, turned a blind eye and ignored the final best threat and tool they had at their disposal?

Grow a spine.

I'm getting quite annoyed reading this whole thread of daily mailism and /talk flippancy.

How about applauding his actions defending his daughter and giving him the benefit of the doubt that due to a typo or lack of proof-reading, the "Result!" was meant to apply to the explusion, not to the rape and murder?

Get off your fucking high horses.
(, Fri 15 May 2009, 13:22, closed)
The way in which the post was written
means that the 'result!' taken as referring to the rape/suicide is easy to assume. He also goes on to say that people shouldn't fuck with his daughters.
As he hasn't edited or defended himself yet, is it any wonder that people are a little miffed?

"Get off your fucking high horses." - What the fuck? I'm sure that the vast majority of people would be clicking "I like this" if it wasn't for the apparent glee with which he describes the bully's rape and death.
(, Fri 15 May 2009, 13:27, closed)
The 'high horses' comment is referring to
the trend in this thread to jump to the obvious moral high ground on the basis of what is hopefully a typo. I naturally give people the benefit of the doubt and, until the Cap comes back to defend himself or assert that he really did mean it the way it sounded, I'm going to assume the best in his post.

It is lunchtime, and this kangaroo court really should drop their pitchforks and slacken off a bit until the facts come out when everyone gets back from the pub.

Screaming "You bastard!" every ten seconds until that time isn't going to achieve anything.
(, Fri 15 May 2009, 13:36, closed)
Agreed that it is likely a typo
But bearing in mind previous QOTW responses and responses on this page from people with personal experience of rape and suicide... it's in very poor judgement.
Also, I've seen answers from people who have gone against the moral-grain and give away some hideous personal opinions.

Shouting "you bastard" will either make him correct his mistake or justify his position. Hopefully those who berate him will calm down when he corrects his wording, which is what I'm egging for.
(, Fri 15 May 2009, 13:44, closed)
I still think
its bad grammar that gives the impression he is happy about the rape and suicide (as argued in my reply a bit further up)

No sane human would be happy about that.
(, Fri 15 May 2009, 12:32, closed)
No sane person would post on Question of the Weak ;)

(, Fri 15 May 2009, 12:40, closed)
If you win,
You'll never be taken seriously again.

Ah yeah... Never mind.
(, Fri 15 May 2009, 12:49, closed)
I think he'll win
his cock drawings were very impressive
(, Fri 15 May 2009, 12:59, closed)
I'll just ignore the whole rape glee as a misguided "yay i'm on b3ta" tasteless joke gone flat.
But I know several teachers in some tough schools, and they would love the chance to get the more violent little bastards chucked out. They often go after the teachers as well as other students, after all.

For all that, cunning use of non-bluff legal threats to protect your daughter was awesome, and I'm sure the teachers were as happy about it as anyone (until the tragic end, at least).
(, Fri 15 May 2009, 12:38, closed)
^
I reckon you're right.
I might have put a similar thing but said: "yay..."
A bit of clarification is needed...

Captain Placid.
While you seem like an ace dad - I have to say this.
I have been raped. It is the most awful thing I have ever gone through and I would not wish it upon anybody. Not even the horrible cows who made me so consistantly miserable for nearly 11 years.
It is the most...violating..horrible..vile, wrong thing that can happen to anybody and it leaves the victim with scarring. For life. Mental. Physical.

I'm glad you got the bully expelled - I really am. But it does sadden (and frighten!) me a lot to see you take pleasure in the fact she was raped and then killed herself two years later.
(, Fri 15 May 2009, 12:49, closed)
and again
I don't think he took any pleasure from that, I think its just bad grammar. See my 2 comments above here.

I suggest we all sit back and have a cup of tea while we wait to see what Captain Placid says when he comes back (which I'm sure he will)
(, Fri 15 May 2009, 12:53, closed)
Even if it is bad grammar, it's still pretty fucking stupid

(, Fri 15 May 2009, 12:54, closed)
Not really
Do you understand how the use of bad grammr could make it look stupid?

if so then your comment itself is also "pretty fucking stupid".
(, Fri 15 May 2009, 12:56, closed)
It's not just the "Bad Grammar"
it's then launching into an ill informed rant at teachers and how they have such cushy jobs etc.

I think you're wrong about the bad grammar thing, the rest of the post is very carefully written, there is no reason to think he wasn't pleased that she was raped and then committed suicide.
(, Fri 15 May 2009, 13:00, closed)
The teachers excluded the girl in question
and she didn't just go to another random school, she went to a 'secure school'. I've been to a 'secure school' (to fix their computers). They are like prisons, with locked gates, special teachers, councilors etc.

If this girl was worthy of going to a school like that, the Captain should not have had to twist the teachers arms into doing this. Therefore, the teachers were crap. He was not saying all teachers are crap, only those he had to, ironically, bully into doing their jobs.

And just because the rest of his post is well written (and there are other typos there), doesn't mean mistakes aren't made.
(, Fri 15 May 2009, 13:30, closed)
I know you're a regular troll
but here
"Teachers are all bullies (except Mr A who gave me a love of maths and Engineering, Mr T who was ex military and gave REAL guidelines on behaviour, and Miss B who gave me my love of language.) and expect respect from whoever they meet, just because they are a teacher."

So he is saying all teachers are crap. And the fact is that they aren't, they do a difficult job and are always between a rock and a hard place. Some teachers are crap, some are lazy, some don't try, but the majority are hamstrung by crap guidelines and legislation and the fact that no-one wants to pay for education, yet they expect everything to be perfect.
(, Fri 15 May 2009, 13:40, closed)
Oy. I'm no troll.
And I'm sorry if I've given that impression. Quite like to know how. I'm going to assume you're confusing me with someone else.

Hmm, think I misread a word there, or added one in. I agree - teachers do have a hard job, so I'd like to see that sweeping generalisation justified as well.

Sounds like he's had a hard time with most of the teachers he's come across, which is a shame. I've met a lot who are crap in all kinds of ways, and a few who were really great.

I am going to go to say, with no hint of trolling, that the great teachers don't take or give any crap and are always in control. Tight regulations or not, there are those who are able to work within those regulations, yet remain in authority and gain everyone's respect.
(, Fri 15 May 2009, 13:55, closed)
I re-read things before I post them. Sometimes after, too.
Especially when talking about important and controversial topics.

So either he jizzed this onto the internet without a second thought and no re-reading (fairly stupid) or he thinks the rape and suicide of children is good (fucking stupid).

Either way, there's one word that remains the same. Is he your boyfriend or something?
(, Fri 15 May 2009, 13:01, closed)
HAHA!!
Nope, no idea who he is and I don't really care. i just think he's being vilified for what I think (and hope) was a mistake.
(, Fri 15 May 2009, 13:37, closed)
Yep.
I also believe in proofreading my posts to an extent. I'd like to think that if I posted the answer, I would've read it through first and gone "Hmm, that bit sounds slightly iffy" and edited it so it didn't appear that I was getting pleasure from the rape and suicide of a young girl.

Whether it's bad grammar or genuine malevolance, it's still wholly indefensible.
(, Fri 15 May 2009, 13:02, closed)
^^ This (spikeypickle)
Innocent until proven guilty?
Perhaps we should let the Captain explain himself.
If it turns out we all took it the way he meant it, by all means beat the fucker into the ground. If not, I think a cup of tea is a pretty good idea.

I'm intrigued
My best friend is a primary school teacher. She's the most delightful woman, full of intelligence, charm and wit. If someone were to infer she's anything like a bully, I'd take offence, because she's nothing of the sort. Tarring everyone with the same brush has really taken some of the weight out of your arguement.

I'm not sure I believe that you took pleasure from the fact the protagonist was raped and killed herself - perhaps some satisfaction was gained from the fact that she'd suffered, but I can't imagine you'd want to wish rape and death on anyone... would you?

Thanks for all the replies Guys & Gals, I really appreciate it.
Firstly, all those who wish me dead, raped or a combination of both - so be it. You have your opinions, I have mine.

I don't have a much truck with the concept of "the sanctity of human life" but I do believe in protecting my family. When I place my family in your care - care for them. Don't hide behind systems, procedures or a sense of superiority, just do your job of protecting my family.

The parents of my daughter's tormentor probably have reminders of her dotted around their house. My daugter and I have them too, the big scar on her face from being hit with a rounders bat and the 9 little round ones from having cigarettes stubbed out on her flesh are things I see every day.

I make no apology for feeling better that the person who scarred and humiliated and terrified my daughter is dead.

Have fun and let the flames commence.

So you ARE happy about the rape and subsequent suicide of a child, then.
Fantastic. Let's hope your precious, blameless, angelic little poppet never upsets anyone. Certainly with a parent like you she'll grow up knowing all about compassion, decency and getting the fuck over it. Lucky girl.

But as a father, I can comprehend Captain Placid's too. There's a phrase about not judging a man unless you've walked a mile in his shoes.
(, Fri 15 May 2009, 21:17, closed)
No, he isn't
Quote: "I make no apology for feeling better that the person who scarred and humiliated and terrified my daughter is dead".

No mention of rape at all. And there is no reference to her age when she took her life, so why everyone is assuming she was a child when she did so is beyond me. The key word is eventually.

Even assuming she was a child when it happened, it doesn't automatically make her some kind of martyr. She certainly didn't have any respect for the Captain's daughter's wellbeing, either mental or physical - what she did to her was pre-meditated, calculating and downright evil, designed to cause as much upset and fear as possible.

Face it - some kids are just evil little cunts. And this kid was old enough to realise that what she was doing was wrong, but it didn't stop her.
(, Sat 16 May 2009, 12:38, closed)
but surely
There must have been a bit of compassion?

I thought, as you can see from earlier comments, that perhaps it was a grammatical error that meant you saw the rape and suicide as a "result". I still hope I'm right.

On the flip side, I'd piss on the grave of anyone who fucked with my son and would show open delight at their untimely demise if it was natural or accidental, but like to think I'd be a bit less joyous if it was suicide.

Also,we as mere readers have no idea what happened to your daughter to make you feel justified although, as you mentioned, the scars give some idea.

(, Fri 15 May 2009, 15:28, closed)
Nothing changes
As long as my child isn't suffering anymore, but it depends on numerous factors. As with Captains tale, we know nothing of what his daughter went through to make him feel the way he does which maybe why some people are so quick to judge him.

If the the cunts who made my life a misery at school got raped and murdered I'd have a great big smile. Does that make me bad?
(, Fri 15 May 2009, 15:34, closed)
In my eyes? Unfortunately yes.
I was thrown down concrete stairs at school by a bully, and that was only a small amount of the shit he put me through over the years. I wouldn't be pleased if he was raped and died, though, as there's probably a wealth of reasons as to why he was a bully, and even if there aren't, I'm over it. I'm a grown up.
(, Fri 15 May 2009, 15:42, closed)
We'll have to disagree
While I too am grown up and over it I'd still be quite a happy chap to hear of their suffering. Indeed, I got a bit of pleasure from seeing one persons family collapse around his ears, watch another sink in to heroin dependancy, see another fall into a life of petty crime and spend most of his time in prison. I smile when I read of their failures in the local press.

People have a choice how to behave, which would lead us to the argument of 'nature or nurture?' (is that correct?)

(, Fri 15 May 2009, 16:12, closed)
No he didn't, and lets be serious for a second here,
but what he has displayed is a particularly unpleasant attitude toward the rape and subsequent suicide of a child. That's a 14 year old child. Now, this child may be fucked up and may have done horrific things to his daughter by the sound of it, and that's terrible, and she should have been removed from school. But lets not forget that a 14 year old child is going to be influenced by their parents, who by the sounds of it, where pretty awful too.

So, he sorted the problem and protected his daughter. Good, I applaud him for that. But to show such callous regard for the life of a child is really quite unpleasant. Don't wail and cry over the death, but to actually be happy is really sickening. You would expect an adult to at least have the compassion to realise that a 14 year old is not making decisions in the same way as a grown up and nobody, ever, ever, deserves to be raped.

Edit - DG has pointed out below that no reference is made to the girls age other than that she is in secondary school, this is quite correct and I don't know where I got the 14 year old thing from, never the less, she would still have been a child, so it doesn't actually detract from my argument.

I think we're all missing
...a large point here. The irony is, this is a story about how bullying means you are 'scum'. So, the Captain put an end to it by intimidating an entire school board - a group of people in charge of children's welfare - into taking action that completely ruined a child's life. Something they wouldn't have done if he hadn't forcefully threatened them.

Anyone? No-one else seeing this?

Yeah,
like when the police bully murderers into the police station and the courts bully them into prison.
(, Fri 15 May 2009, 21:27, closed)
I disagree, no-way
The school board were adults, whose job it was to protect their charges and uphold moral values.

His actions were driven by the very fact that they singularly failed to protect one of their charges, i.e. his daughter.

He took a course of action that no-one else appeared to be willing to take, which was the protection of his daughter. From physical and mental violence.

Yes, her tormentor's fate was horrific. Yes, this is a tragic tale. But who is to say that the girl in question would not have ended up in the same place if CP had not taken the action he did?

The fact is, you can't. Plenty of people have done horrific things and turned out well. Plenty of people have had horrific things done to them, and turned out well. And fuck me, I know a few.

And yeah; I'm not a parent. But I have a step-son, whom I would protect with my life, even if we don't always see eye to eye.

I stand by my view that perhaps the Cap could have worded things a bit less controversially. But I do not villify his desire to protect his daughter, nor his relief that her tormentor is no longer around.

Fucking exactly
What DG says.

These useless cunts had a duty of care which they patently failed. Bullying is abuse. It's not "a difficult age" it's not "confused children" it's not "boys will be boys". It's abuse pure and simple.

Having been to a school where one of my peers was found hanging by his mother because one day he couldn't take any more, I find the complete lack of any ability to take charge and make a fucking decision in SOME teachers to be a complete and utter discgrace. They need to be taken outside and given a good shoeing, because by ignoring it, they are complicit.
(, Mon 18 May 2009, 22:01, closed)
I think I'm missing something here
There are constant references in the replies to a 14 year old child being raped and, as the Cap says, she eventually committed suicide.

I can't see any mention of the girl's age in any of the text (unless it's been edited). So where has this 'fact' come from?

There is no reference to her age other than the bullying happening in secondary school (which, when I was at school was between ages 9 - 13) and certainly no reference to how old she was when she took the somewhat drastic action of ending her life.

Just wondered.

And to clarify, rape is not something anyone 'deserves', but I can see why the Cap is happy this person is no longer around to inflict misery on others. I may not necessarily agree with his choice of phrase, but I'm not going to pillory the bloke for it.

Besides, I've posted a pretty gruesome story this week that demonstrates what can happen if you live by the sword. Doesn't mean I condone it, but at the same time the person involved was a cock so I'm not sorry for what happened to him.
(, Fri 15 May 2009, 21:40, closed)
It's a good point
I'm not sure where the 14 year old thing came from, I may have just imagined it.

But the fact remains that she was at secondary school when this happened and went on to a secure school, so actually when this happened it is more than likely that she was under the age of 14 since she likely wouldn't have been in the secure unit two years later if she was over sixteen. So the balance of probabilities is that this girl was actually under the age of 14.

As i've said previously, you can be really glad that you sorted out the problem for your child, but as an adult I would expect another reasonable adult to be able to look objectively at this situation and not actually be happy that someone was raped and then killed themselves.
(, Fri 15 May 2009, 22:37, closed)
Hmmm
"I make no apology for feeling better that the person who scarred and humiliated and terrified my daughter is dead."

I agree with you, al, but...

If my daughter had been bullied by someone, physically scarred and brought to fear by a peer, I wouldn't be inclined to remorse if they went through shit themselves.

While I don't condone rape or suicide or the enjoyment of either, I can understand our Captain's position in my interpretation of that particular quote.

Not looking to get into an arguement, and that.
(, Fri 15 May 2009, 22:47, closed)
I love you al
And I want to have your babies.

But seriously, whilst I think the Captain's comment was misjudged, I in no way think that is the type of person he is. Even if I hadn't met him, I wouldn't think that - his 'nicest thing' post a while back bears that out, I think.
(, Sat 16 May 2009, 0:49, closed)
It's a very good point
A large part of the responses have been challenging whether CP thinks the rape and suicide of a child is a good thing.

Where does it state the individual's age? The closest I can see in the post is that CP's daughter endures a "couple of years" of bullying and that two years after the perpetrator was sent to a secure unit she was raped and committed suicide.

Where does it state her age? It doesn't.

Where does it state she was mentally ill? It doesn't.

Where does it state that the poster's tongue was anywhere but in his cheek? It doesn't.

[edit]

One more point to make here. I get the strong impression that a good many of the more indignant responses have come from individuals in their mid to late teens or early twenties who do not have children. Indeed, the fact that their opinions are so polarized would support this.
(, Sat 16 May 2009, 17:19, closed)
Where to begin.....
This is a multi-faceted argument. There are so many sides with which I can identify and empathise, as;
1) a parent;
2) a child who was bullied physically, mentally and emotionally for many years;
3) a learning support assistant who has worked in schools with special needs children for the last 9 years.

My initial reaction to reading this post was, "How lucky CP's daughter is to have him for her father. I wish mine had been more like him". I applaud CP for his no-shit approach to his daughter's school's lame attempts at "tackling bullying". I am more than familiar with the current "strategies" for bullying; all of which look good on paper, ticking the desired politically correct boxes for OFSTED et al, ad nauseum - none of which are effective.

As a parent, there are no lengths to which I wouldn't go to protect my boy. That sounds contrite - I mean if anyone threatened or did serious harm to the precious being for whose very existence I fought - there are no limits.

As for all teachers being bullies? Yes, there are some. Some of whom were born bullies and gravitated to the profession for that very reason - (easy prey) - lower than whale shit, those ones. Then there are the master teachers, who, despite all the current corporate bullshit guidelines and crap with which they must adhere, continually strive to do their utmost, imparting the thirst and enthusiasm for learning in our children. Never a mention do they warrant amongst the general criticism for our current education system.

The last point is the stickiest. CP is accused of, "Taking pleasure in the rape and death of a child." A rather ambiguous assumption, considering none of us know the full extent of the circumstances. He has mentioned a couple of physical scars; nothing of the mental and emotional scars which may well continue to affect his daughter throughout her life.

John Venables and Robert Thompson were "children" when they committed their atrocities, many of which were too vile to make general public knowledge. In proportion, from the small percentage I've read of that case, I'd have no hesitation whatsoever in nailing their respective cocks (with a blunt rusty 9" nail) to a table in a shed; setting the shed on fire, leaving them each with a blunt axe; then shooting the cunts anyway if they did break free.

What we should bear in mind though however, is that Captain Placid is also a great B3tard. He's one of us. He knows how we speak and our humour. It's what makes us all choc-full of awesomeness.

Saying 'result' with his tongue planted firmly in his bearded cheek is no different to the Maddie jokes we all laugh at, or the peado, 'Baby P', bestiality gags and other 'tasteless' comments that we all say regularly.

We say these things...because we can. Yay for us.

I'm inclined to agree not only with Tourettes' & DG's excellent comments above, but also with the /talk people here. It's the internet. Get over it.

I am lucky enough to know the real CP, a man that despite his size, solidity, and weapons grade status, is a genuine gentlemen amongst spakkers like me. Believe me, when the shit hits the fan, you'd want him on your side.

His daughters are fantastic girls, who after the divorce chose to live with him. They have subsequently been brought up to be fine, well adjusted people. This is a testament to CP's parental skills, which is why I can take this post in the context with which it was intended. I know he won't lose a millisecond's sleep over the people who have taken offence. Call him a cunt, it's your right to do so if you want. He won't care.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. If you're easily offended by people's opinions and the usage of freedom of speech, then you're on the wrong site.

There are people in this life (and I use the word "people" in the loosest sense possible) who, no matter what their age, background, upbringing/influences, are capable of inflicting hideous pain and torture on others. Next time I see one I will point and shout "JUSTICE MOBILE!"

You are a man of eloquence and sense and a foot long cock

I wholeheartedly support this product and/or service.

I've been a bit miffed this week because of other B3tan's replies to this post so have tried to keep my mouth shut in case I explode with rage.
The replies by Tourettes, Davros and Pooflake have explained things far better than I could and I hope the pillocks who got on their high horse have saddle sores.

I am now calm again.

I shall click in comradeship with the Captain.

After reading ALL the responses (I am quite sad)
And seeing how some people have reacted, I have to agree with what Pooflake and Tourette's have said. This is something that I have not had any experience with (nor would I want to!) and, if I ever have kids and they get bullied, I hope I can protect them as well as Cap'n Placid.

With all this stuff about taking satisfaction in a kids rape & subsequent suicide, however, if that is how the Cap'n felt then that's a bit too much for me to be honest. I personally wouldn't want something like that on my conscience.

Wow, quite the hot topic!
