Morning
Anyone had shingles?
What do they start like?
I'm a hypochondriac so please tread carefully. I am susceptible to the merest suggestion.

I have a job interview tomorrow.
And I'm really nervous about it. Don't suppose anyone has any helpful words/tips?

helphelphelp
so i've been slowly (ie nonexistently) moving things on with the gorgeous but slightly young and therefore unsuitable boy at work. i rarely fancy anyone at work, but this guy makes me act like a 12 year old. still, despite this, we've managed to get from "kind regards" to lots of chatting and banter, and now i am lending him my shiny new car when i am away over christmas, even though he lives in a rather rough part of town.

until tonight, when a colleague tells me he has gone on a date. a date . on a monday night? who goes on a fucking date on a monday night (unless they met at the weekend and can't keep their grubby mitts off each other?!)?

so firstly i need some harsh b3ta advice on manning the fuck up before i have to see him tomorrow morning, but much more importantly........ how can i extricate myself from the whole car loan thing to stop him bonking someone else in my car? do i invent a manufacturer's safety recall??

all wise words and tips gratefully received.

So I've been away a wee while,
working guys, nothing exciting, and everyone seems to have had a massive attack of taking things to heart and be bitching about each other and deleting threads.

So what's been going on? What have a missed? Was it handbags at 20 paces?

Evening soggy internet folk
This weekend has been eventful out in the windy real world.

Went for a surf on Friday with Mrs V. After about 5 minutes I see her standing up out of the water with blood sheeting down one half of her face as her board had smashed into her eye.

Fortunately the eye is fine, aside from a nice bruise, and a few cuts underneath. Had to take her to hospital to be glued up.

Then spent the rest of the weekend with strangers giving me dirty looks because the only explanation for her injury could be me beating her.

Looks down
Both boobs present and correct

I've had a lovely day playing with the Yorkie puppy owned by one of the receptionists who was in for her first vaccs. It's been so busy at work lately that we've not had time to catch up on every day things, so it was nice to have a quiet day for once. Probably wont happen again until January since we're fully booked every day until after Christmas, but you never know!

My question for the teeny tiny people who live inside my computer...what's made you smile/laugh or even titter like a total girl today? Mine's in replies

Got home security? Got access to kids?
Saturday was spent looking after my nieces, tasked by my brother-in-law to help them write to Father Christmas. Easy you’d imagine. No.

Take 3 over excited girls, aged 5, 3 and 11 months, give them some paper, glitter and glue and tell them to write/draw/scribble to Santa and you’ve got 2 overactive kids and a baby who just cries.

Cunning plan? Identify in the corner of the room that infra-red alarm censor and tell them that whenever it flashes red, that’s either Santa or one of his helpers watching them to see if they are being good or not.

2 hours of near silence ensued (well, bar the crying baby).

When was the last time you conned some kids?

Alternatively, who is the greatest ever soap opera character?

PERT!

A little help?!
Ello my new interweb friends. I have a plea…

It would appear that Windows7 has an anti piracy bone on, so my cracked copy of CS4 won't install. I'm rubbish at this sort of thing, but essentially you need to copy some bits from a word doc and pop them in to a drivers/etc/host file. We (IT spods, I just watched) tried this but you can't save over, or 'save as' the file. Bollix.

So, I'm looking at going legit. I've seen Ps and Ai for £514 and £276 online respectively. Now this just seems like a fuck load of cash to spunk before crimble, so does anyone know of any outlets that offer them cheaper, or even a way around the host doc debacle?!

I appreciate this isn't a tech forum as such, and it's not much in the way of poops or even giggles but you're a nice bunch and I know a few of yers use Ps for comedy effects on these very pages. Well, the challenge pages.

Cheers in advance,

Monders.

Dear QOTW.
I want to talk to you all about a friend of mine, and who is hopefully a friend of yours. He goes on here by the name of Phsyco_Chomp. He brings a hell of a lot to this board, he speaks resonably and is a good laugh.

As far as I'm concerned, he's a top bloke and a top member.

Now, I understand that some people on here can be a bit sensative, have had hard lives and can write their own books on being on the wrong side of the tracks.

Some White Knight in Shinning Binary has complained against him to the mods, and he his voice (and the light in my life (and this board)) has been dimmed to a picture of a crying cat, for the next 3 days.

As such, I will not be posting on /qotw (aside from this thread) for the same time. I've seen the comment he was talking about, and some people seem to be stuck in a cotton ball bubble world.

I'll leave you with this.

EDIT Please don't go the mods about this, they're aware of the situation and if everyone bother's them, then it'll just be a bit shit, they don't need this crap as much as we don't.

EDIT 2 No point cutting my nose to spite my face, I'll still post, just won't be anything of any use.

I saw my first person wearing a swine flu mask the other day, in Sainsburys.
What a knobhead. And the other week, a guy was insisting on paying in Euros. Another knobhead.
Who's the biggest twat you've seen recently?

I haven't got a degree in literacy.
I feel distinctly second-rate now. What qualifications do you have and how have they helped you in life?

Good morning and greetings to you all, this soggy, windswept day.
I've had a superb weekend, for a fucking change.

How was yours?

"I am such a 'tard that I think "choad" is a compliment." Discuss.
Try and keep the bile to a minimum kids...

Note: those incapable of a suitable degree of literacy please keep away...

Cravings!
Right now, I'm craving a real bacon butty on white bread with butter and HP Sauce.
The bacon out here is shit, it's thin and fatty.
I'm also craving a meat pie - you can't get them here, not like back home. Here they're "pot pies" and just don't have the lashings of gravy I miss!

What are you craving right now?

Does anyone know about netbooks?
We are thinking of buying a netbook for our 8 year old son - and would like some help working out if they are any good.
All he wants to do with a computer is download music & videos, play games, and produce word processed documents.
Does anyone have any views on whether netbooks are worth using, or would we be better off waiting till he's bigger then buying him a full spec computer?
Not being at all techie, I could also do with some advice on to what extent anything produced on a netbook running Windows CE or Linux would be compatible with our main Vista PC.
Any advice would be really appreciated.

You know what? I think we should all take a moment to consider The Gramma Badger.
She's such a lovely young lady, in the prime of her life. She's an aspiration to us all. Women want to be her, men want to be with her. She inspires nothing but confidance in all she meets. I have had the pleasure, no, honor, of meeting such a lady. She told me a few simple expresions that I'll take with me to grave, "25% Wassabi, 75% Soy", "If you don't like the Tuna, get the one with the salmon pieces" and the last one, the one I hold most dear, is "You may be tempted to put the straw in the capri-sun's bottom, but use the hole. The hole is there for a reason, use it.".

She is my personal Wonderwall, Time Of Your Life (by that greenday band) and my "Save Tonight" (by that Eagle Eye Cherry guy).

When I first meet her, I was humbled by her humbled beginings. She doesn't mind telling you that she was born on the wrong side of the tracks in the bad end of the town, a two story town.

Let's all take a moment in our lives to think of how fantastic she is, and what we can learn from such a girl....no, not girl, Lady.
