So it's James Cameron night once again once again in Hollywood, what are you doing on this momentous occasion
to mark how many golden statues the bashful philanthropist will take home with him?

Alternate question, what film would you rather wins the oscars tonight?

I've been at work since 8
... and I've been playing Mindmaze since 8.15 via logmein on my PC at home. Anyone else shirking it today?

I'm at my parents
Have eaten lots of beef, dad's snoring on the sofa, and one of their cats looks like it wants to eat me. I'm not above punching a cat if it goes for me though.

Might get a pre-emptive shot in. Should I aim for the face, or a body shot?

I have spent this evening planning our route to Lodz for Easter.
I discovered that there is a wee place just outside Osnabrück called Belm.
How can I work this detour into our itinerary without arousing suspicion?

Hello all!
I'm fairly confident none of you will have noticed I'd disappeared for the last week, I'm currently in Glasgow, seeing a friend of mine.

Anything I've missed?

Also, I've just filled out my Mastermind application, will have to see if they want me! What would your specialist subjects be?

Mine are Final Fantasy VII, The Battle Of Stalingrad, Redwall Series of Books, and WWF: The Attitude Era - 1997-2001. (Yep, I'm really that much of a geek)

It's not dark yet, but it soon will be
and a fuse has blown meaning all my lights won't work.

The fuse is one of those wire ones I don't understand, I have no idea what size it is either and the letting agency is closed until monday.

I also have no idea about cars. What can't you do that makes you feel inadequate and powerless?

£760.13!
That's how big a refund we'll be getting off United Utilities after it turned out mrsblaireau69 had been paying water rates by DD whilst Blaireau Villa was undergoing reconstructive surgery.
The right hand didn't know what the left was doing, it would seem. Even though I told UU the property was empty they carried on taking payments from feb 2006. After a wee bit of negotiating they agreed to not keep hold of the cash and offset it against future bills, to reinstate the DD they have just cancelled and refund the whole lot in one easy payment!

£760.13!!!

Get On ;-)

What has surprised and delighted you recently?

First Woo!
God I wish I could do lie-ins but I have to get up once I've woken up. I think it must be an age thing. I used to be able to sleep for England. I had a lovely dream with Roota in although I can't remember anything else about it.

Right I'm off to make my porridge.

For dinner this evening I had
A pre-appetiser of White Mushroom Veloute
Appetiser of slow braised English lamb, onion and black peppercorn icecream, garden pea salad and mint dressing
Main course of Roast chicken jambonette, smoked chicken and black pudding boudin, potato fondant.
A pre-dessert of raspberry couli topped with hot rice pudding topped with chocolate sauce.
Dessert of dark chocolate and chili pave, sweet chili syrup and malted milk chocolate ice cream.

I'd forgotten what eating at nice restaurants was like.

What'd you have?

I haven't submitted as much as I used to on QoTW, largely due to the topics on offer. I did however take the opportunity to post something this week, that was fairly cathartic to write.

Several years ago now I obviously did something to upset "Mike woz ere" who I think is mostly a /talker. This meant I was on his hilarious "fail" list.

I then commented that his "fail" list was just a puerile form of bullying. If I wanted that sort of shit, I'd go on /talk, and they are welcome to it, but I like to think that QoTW is frankly puerile in a nice sort of way.

In the replies to my post of last night, Mike has decided yet again to link to his fucking fail list and my comments on it made back in July last year which were greeted with the usual frankly fucking infantile and humourless comments of "cunt", "wanker" and so forth from his clique of /talk knuckle-draggers.

Now, I wonder - who really is the "cunt" ? Mike Woz Ere, I would suggest, for bringing this up yet a-fucking-gain.

So, in the best Internet tradition, I'm flouncing out of here. I'll continue to read posts and wish well to all on here, except of course for /talk who I hope continue in their doubtless sexless, joyless existence.

[EDIT] Context applied. The "letter" in the QoTW was to my soon to be ex, who I haven't seen for over a year. After I posted it on QoTW, I then plucked up courage to e-mail her. As a result, we're seeing each other tomorrow. I hope that explains why I'm somewhat "sensitive" about this as a result.

Tell me your weekend plans. I will rate them out of 10.

Can we have a pranks thread?
My housemates kept me up until 3, when I finally left and went to sleep on my parents couch.
The only thing that kept me sane was thinking about how I'm going to fuck with them HARD CORE for being bitches. I'm going to get a mini airhorn and everytime the LOUD MOUTH CUNT tries to talk I'm going to squeeze the trigger. See how long it takes for that bitch to shut up.

You got any tricks up your sleeve?

thanks again offtopic!
I asked some advice about a job opportunity, and took it. and today, i met with the MD of the company, and unless i'm TOTALLY deluded and tripping balls, i think i made the grade . specially as i managed to bypass them advertising the role and inserted myself neatly as the man for the job before they'd even ironed out the details of what it entailed.
fucking A!
it's sunny, i absolutely rinsed an interview for a BIG proper going somewhere design job, i'm off to brighton with the missus now for a wicked weekend and haven't a care in the world.
so, what's making you hate smug twats like me today?

I'm going to a rave in a couple of months
For some reason which I can't fathom, Tim Westwood has been lined up to play. This is shoulder to shoulder with the likes of Luke Vibert, The Orb, Ceephax, The Countryside Alliance...

What the juddering FUCK is Westwood doing there.

What I want to do is this...buy a job lot of cheap toy guns and walk along the front row giving them out to all the shiny, happy people waiting for him to come on. Then stand back and enjoy the fun as Westwood comes out to a whole audience waving fake guns in his face.

Who thinks this is worth doing? Too tasteless? Pointless?

Moved my arse
and went to the gym this morning since I haven't been for three days. What I want to know is where are the other people who want to lose weight? Every man in there was a bodybuilder type, and every woman was size 8 or less. I'm not exactly obese, but I felt like a motivational 'this is what you'll end up like' figure.

What else has puzzled you?

Walk-in music
If you were a fighter, what would be the tune you would have on the PA as the fans cheer you to the ring?

I'd probably have a throat-lumping Irish ballad where loads of people die and women cry and rend hair and such while children starve. My opponent would think I was so badass, I had survived the famine and shit himself.

Song of the day, for me, for no identifiable reason is
'Pushin' Too Hard' by The Seeds, fronted by the fantastically-monickered Sky Saxon.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=BOXgEXwaFRQ

What's got YOU grooving today? Please note any mention of David Jones and I'll fucking knack you, alright?
