I've just found out we're moving offices soon to Elephant and Castle.... anyone know what it's like around there?
I thought it was a hellhole, but Ma' says its great and they've done it up nicely. And being near Borough Market would be ace. Getting there isn't too bad, apparently according to google, but I reserve judgement on that until I've done the journey myself.

I was never convinced as a kid; I always thought it was just silly.

My suspicions were confirmed in Primary 5- we were doing a project on Greek mythology (could have been Roman) and I asked my teacher how come these gods weren't real and ours was? She gave a half-assed answer.

As we are fast approaching Bonfire Night we would like to advise you of the following:
*It is illegal to let off any firework in a public space and this carries a fine of up to £5000. Police may also issue an £80 Fixed Penalty Notice.
*It is illegal to set of fireworks between 11pm and 7am (Bonfire night extended until 12 midnight)
*The Police have the power to stop and search anyone suspected of carrying fireworks.
*All fireworks sold to public must comply to British Standard BS 7114
*It is illegal for a member of the public to possess a ‘display’ style firework (category 4 fireworks, can only be used by professionals)
*It is illegal to cause unnecessary suffering to animals with fireworks.
*It is illegal to sell fireworks to anyone under 18 years of age. Anyone selling fireworks to someone aged under 18 can be fined up to £5,000.
*The sale of bangers, mini rockets, fireworks that fly erratically (squibs, helicopters etc), aerial shells and maroons is illegal.
*Caps, cracker snaps, novelty matches, party poppers, serpents and throwdowns cannot be sold to anyone aged under 16 years.
*All licensed or registered retailers must operate from a fixed premises, so any fireworks being sold from market stalls, car boot sales or other temporary sales locations are illegal.
*Only a very small number of people are licensed to sell fireworks from their home address.

I've just had a hell hour.
I was down tidying the cellar for the delivery tomorrow, throwing barrels around like the burly man hunk that I am. Well, turns out the chains holding the gas canisters aren't mounted in the wall very well, and I knocked a gas canister over. It didn't burst (thankfully) but it has stripped all the gas piping off the wall. I'm now awaiting an emergency engineer. In the cold, as my pub slowly fills with invisible creeping death.
When was the last time some one else's shoddy work (or your own fat handed clumsiness, depending on how you look at it) almost killed you?
