The duck breast you can cook by sight and timing.
The sauce was red wine, black cherries and brown sugar so no issues tasting it.

Duck should be medium rare, so easy to tell if it was too bloody. Just sealed it, then extremely hot oven while the sauce reduced. It's piss easy and really impressive.

How many people there have cars? We don't have a public transport system like you lot do

The rate of car ownership is pretty much the same in Europe as in the US.
I'm not sure what you mean.

Your original argument was that people ate shite because anything else was "insanely expensive". Things are typically more expensive in Europe but people don't eat nearly as much shite.

My mum is retired and in the middle of building a house so I made her a bunch of canned meals and some confit of duck.
So you're basically right.

I'm still not sure what this has to do with the fact that the world's last superpower and the wealthiest country on the planet has a population that is eating itself to death with cheap shit.
(, Wed 30 Jan 2013, 20:25, Reply)
you implied that while America did that, WE didn't.
I'm just pointing out that quite a large proportion of the UK actually does.
(, Wed 30 Jan 2013, 20:30, Reply)
No I didn't.
I suggested that the US is profoundly worse. Which it is. I have no idea why anybody is defending the pretty horrific fact that a quarter of a billion of the wealthiest people on the planet are eating themselves to an early grave with tasteless sugary pap. It isn't defensible.
(, Wed 30 Jan 2013, 22:48, Reply)
Tell me about it.

Alt: bell peppers can go fuck right off. As can seafood.

Alt alt: apparently the BBC are showing the Superbowl live on Sunday night. As all my Baltimore friends are banging on about FESTIVUS MAXIMUS, I might well have to watch it when I get home from the quiz.

I cook so many wonderful things.
My favorite at the moment is what I call Dog Sick Soup.

The name alone sells that dish.
Evening, Gonz. All good in the hood?

Yeah', not to bad, some things suck, something things rule, that's the way it always goes.

Yup, I had a little cry before, but then I took some extra pills and the pain went away.

When you get your toosh on a plane over here, they'll be many happy faces to see you, but i'll spare no expense on a meal as exquisit as possible for me to make.

(, Wed 30 Jan 2013, 19:54, Reply)
I'm not, not in the slightest. Me and Al alone, let alone the others, would love to see you.

You're like Roger Moore and Terry-Thomas combined into one ball of charm.

I was a chef for a couple of years,
Used to knock up some truly stunning food when I had access to a proper kitchen, my kitchen at home is shit. Still, I think my crowning glory was a fish pie we used to do at one pub, I try and do it at home sometimes, and it's my favourite dish.

I'm not a huge fan of processed meats, like sandwich meats and spam and stuff. Corned beef is vomit inducing to me.

Fish pie sounds like a vagina

(, Wed 30 Jan 2013, 20:12, Reply)
You should probably wash more.
Just saying.
(, Wed 30 Jan 2013, 20:13, Reply)
I wash daily, thank you

(, Wed 30 Jan 2013, 20:20, Reply)
I don't understand how you've managed to make your vagina resemble a fish pie.
Do you have actual fish in it? Because that would be well worth a youtube channel.
