Apparently devastated that (in her words) I will be taking micro away from her.
Shared residency is what they used to call joint custody. It doesn't mean micro would be with me even 50% of the time, but it would give me more overnight stays.

She was never planning to.
She can't without my agreement anyway - Scotland is a separate entity to England & Wales when it comes to this sort of thing, as we have joint parental responsibility she can't just up & move.
Plus, she is 2/3rds through the first year of a three year course that she can't complete in Scotland, micro will have started school by then. So I think she'll stay in London.
If the worst comes to the worst I'll move to Edinburgh myself if I have to.

Edinburgh's nice enough, easy access to London and has plenty of your line of work innit.

look, imma level witcha here, yeah
When I was 16/17 I listened to shit like Korn and Fear Factory. I thought they were innovative, talented and cool. Then I discovered that there were bands/ hip hop acts who did similar things but much better. Also, that the lyrics (in the case of Korn) were teenage drivel and in the case of Fear Factory were sci fi mumbo jumbo. So I 'grew out' of listening to them.
I''ve heard 30 Seconds to Mars and they are utter toss. What's that anti war song of theirs? First time I heard that one it genuinely made me laugh.

It's an odd one, really
I no longer listen to Linkin Park, RATM, etc, simply because their music doesn't 'resonate'(?) with me anymore, now I just tend to listen to what I like. If I like it, I couldn't care less what type of music it is, it's why my phone swaps between death metal, dubstep and chart music.
EDIT: Anti-war song? No idea.

I found my grandfather's old record player in me mum's attic. Took it down and started asking questions online and it turns out it's a pretty rare and very desirable machine.
So obviously I ripped it all apart and re-wired it. With a new cartridge I'll have a functional, 51 year old collectable turntable for pennies. Good weekend.

I heard that technics added pitch control on the sl mk 2
Because at the time it was common for classical records to be pressed badly, and off key. So by speeding up or slowing down the record you could correct the pitch.
Hence varispeed often being referred to as 'pitch correction'.

Yeah, as I understand it, records labelled as "78" were pretty often more accurately described

I downloaded one of those sleep tracker app things yesterday.
To be fair, it seems to have actually woken me up at the right time, but I'm fucking exhausted and I've got a frozen shoulder.
Alt: Not really, no.
AltAlt: Morning can kiss my pasty Scots arse.

What does it track? Your breathing or summat?

Also, can you ask what the point of them is? I don't know what you do with the information gleaned from such an application.

Well mine's 400, nothing wrong with having decent bedding.
You spend half your life in bed, after all.

The idea is that it figures out when you're in light sleep
then wakes you at the closest point to your alarm time. The idea being that you don't wake up in the middle of a dream, or when you're getting some proper sleep, or summat.

but what if your alarm time is fixed?
you know, by reference to your job start time or something? does it slowly train you to wake up naturally at the right time?

Say you need to be up by six to get to work on time:
you give it half an hour leeway, and from half five, it looks out for the first time you're in 'light sleep', then wakes you up. If you're not awake by the alarm time, it'll wake you up then.
I think that's the principle, anyway. It's supposed to wake you up without you feeling all confuzzled and grumpy.

must be something to do with fluid shifting around. I dread getting a cough because i'm such a chest flid that I end up sleepless for a week.

If you have a dry cough, and you take a cough suppressant,
you stop coughing. Is that not 'effective' enough for you?
