I hope that you here are more inclined to dredge your memories for retro slang, and be my slang repository filling bitches.
My Retro Slang Repository - currently very empty.
At least if you are putting silliness in, make it funny, clever silliness

# STOP THESE STEALING SHITS NOW!
Once again i open up my copy of zoo weekly and turn to the jpeg secton. What do i see?. More lazy arse b3tans stealing others work and sending it in for zoo to publish. Now i for one wouldn't mind having my work published in zoo (if it was any good) but for others to send it without asking is out of order. So hear my message, content stealers, if u wish to send off our work EMAIL US, IT AINT HARD.

# would you care to scan it in or describe exactly what examples of this you've witnessed
Any image that appears on the front page and many off the board get e-mailed around to people's friends often without mentioning a particular poster's name.
Any Kudos from getting an image published in a magazine remains with the creator whether they ever realise it or not.
Think of it as getting a different kind of front page.
(, Thu 16 Sep 2004, 17:41, archived)
# yea
i aint got a scan but one was the wayne roony/shrek one and the other was the cornish pasty sunrise
(, Thu 16 Sep 2004, 17:44, archived)
# well like I said,
that the image gets printed is only a compliment to the creator. Most of the source images people use are taken from other sites to begin with so 'stealing' is not really something we can take the moral highground over unless someone was trying to use it for profit.
(, Thu 16 Sep 2004, 17:48, archived)
# therre is a thing at the patent office
you can copy someone else's concept and then refine or improve it, so long as it has been shown to have employed 'an inventive step'. For example, a watch with a USB flash drive in it. The inventor of the watch can't sue, and neither can the inventor of the USB flash drive.

Doing things to images to change their meaning for entertainment purposes is an inventive step. Taking a picture of a monkey needs a steady hand, equipment and an eye for a good picture. Turning the monkey picture into a pic of Yasser Arafat is skill. Pimping off someone else's skills is wrong.

I rest my case, m'lud

# I feel like a dick posting entries
to the b3ta board with my e-mail but it is precisely because I'm concerned about having stuff nicked that I do it... I have had gags from my website stolen for two different TV shows that I know of, so I appreciate what you're saying brother.
