Not horror, exactly

I can't help but find the CGI humans in recent 'cartoons' slightly sinister.
It's almost as if Disney's trademark baby features don't mix well with photorealistic skin shaders.

I did think that, but no. There's no way they'd be mistaken for real people at a distance. I wonder if it's a proportions thing.
Or perhaps it's just what you're used to, kids growing up now would be less tied to Looney Tunes, hand-drawn animation and flat colouring.

I stick to my first suggestion
realistic skin, for the most part natural movements, emotive eyes etc. It all says human, but the proportions jar causing your brain to feel queasy.

Perhaps we should start sneaking radioactive elements into the water supply
The more horrendously deformed humans there are about, the more natural it'll all seem

its the eyes man! they are too big
there should be laws mandating size of eyes compared to head must remain age appropriate.. eyes this big can only be used on an infant up to 24 months..

the Tintin movie is a good example of this
Tintin himself is actually quite passably human, but the more stylised characters frankly look like deformed freaks
