# There's a world war two bomb in the Thames
There must be loads, quite honestly. Is there a real danger of these things going off? Has it ever happened?
(, Mon 12 Feb 2018, 11:34, archived)
# Indeed they can cause a lot of damage
depending on the size, a 500lb bomb for example (in a controlled area)

# The danger is very real.
According to my ex-UXB, bomb disposal dad.
This is his favourite, go-to story. According to him the real danger is the degradation of the fail-safes in the munitions. The explosives themselves are still dangerous, and increasingly unstable.
