Righto, I've finally decided (with the help of 'Don't point it at your face') on Sinclairs Oyster Bar right in the city centre.
I suggest we convene from 5pm onwards & then work our way around the local hostelries drinking them dry as quickly
as our bladders will permit.
Sinclairs Oyster Bar
MANC BASH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Going: Benny on the Loose;, Benny Tied To A Tree, chobb, ImNotRightBotheredMe, MCQ, grey kid, crazyjude, Watney Heckbulb uhnnnnnnnn, Gizmo.mp3, drunkenoaf, Dont point it at your face, mns, TheKidsOffTheShining, Pachey, RR, M3Essential, the RAND corporation, Lonewolf (18 people).
but...fucking Revolution? Are you having a cunting giggle? If I want ponciness I'll stay in Reading thankyou very much!
Edit: Sinclairs Oyster Bar? This better not be like the Blue Oyster Bar...not

I'd rather start off there than end up there.
I hope some other people sign up for this, as I haven't got a fucking clue where all the decent pubs are.
If we're not careful, we'll end up in Canal Street.

to take a large group of people, as the bouncers don't like 'gender tourists'.
I really really really do NOT recommend Revolution. Especially on Deansgate Lock.
There is an Irish Pub near Canal Street that is fairly large, yet relaxed. We could meet there, wander into the city centre, and then probably onto 5th Avenue for dancing and jolly japes...

where it is.
I take it you and Mr Badger will be joining us then?!
( , Fri 7 Apr 2006, 14:30, Reply)
as even if we have Reece with us, we can leave him with my parents.
But only if you promise to listen to me when picking possible pub venues. Really...a group of us will not be happy in Revo's.
I do suggest that we possibly end up in either 5th Avenue or Aqua.
I promise not to make you all go gay.

I shall let you suggest the starting location, then we shall open it up to whoever's there at the time as to where we go after that!

make if difficult for me to get a round in, if the bar staff are female.
However I do have a friend in umm chorlton? is it? I dunno, I live in the sticks these days, would be be easy to get back there in the small hours, blind drunk?
( , Fri 7 Apr 2006, 14:55, Reply)
although I'd advise against wandering around Chorlton in the early hours.

a friend of mine lives in Chorlton, it cost her £8 for a taxi to Picadilly at the weekend and that was during the day...

There are several great pubs in the centre:
The Briton's Protection
The Marble Arch
to name but two.
[edit] Sinclairs is a good choice. Nicely done.

It's only over the hills, so I shall say yes & thrice yes. Or maybe no. It depends on stuff.

My cousin Louise is getting married! Thought that date looked familiar. Bugger it! Sorry everyone, I shall have to give it a miss this time.

there'll be about 12% as much love at that stupid wedding as there will be in our pub! *rants*

so it would be fairly criminal if I didn't go. Can I recommend the Sci Fi bar on Portland Street (not far from Picadilliy Station)? It's got a Dalek in it.
BTW Revolution is alright but its fucking expensive and they've just their prices up.
( , Thu 20 Apr 2006, 23:36, Reply)
Yes. First thing you see when you walk in is a Thundercats poster. And they had Gremlins on the TV the other day. Class.

Well, I've been lurking about for ages for a Manchester one to come up, but as I've never gone to a B3ta bash before, I'm a wee bit curious about what to expect...
You've all got to promise to be nice and not steal my lunch money.
As a Didsburyer, it's good to see so many South Manc B3tans...Oh yeah, and Chorlton? Rough??? Just wait till you sample the delights of Levenshulme and Whalley Range!
( , Wed 3 May 2006, 13:59, Reply)
yeah you need to watch your back in Chorlton, or someone might tickle you with an artichoke heart whilst chasing you in raffeta flip-flops. ;]
( , Fri 5 May 2006, 16:50, Reply)
I love the food in the Unicorn but I could quite happily machine gun the fucking lot of them.
"Jocasta, don't do that sweetie."
*kids has a hissy fit over some snacks*
"Oh OK darling, just a little. Don't spoil your lunch."
*kid does what it wants anyway because it has no fucking BOUNDARIES*
And relax...
( , Fri 12 May 2006, 9:19, Reply)
..is shocking. I never thought B3ta was so up-market.
But I live in between Didsbury and Withington, so I guss that makes me half scumbag.
( , Thu 8 Jun 2006, 13:01, Reply)
I believe some of the younger b3tans may be joining us, so a place without a strict door policy might be a good plan.
( , Mon 5 Jun 2006, 11:08, Reply)
Edit: may not be able to make it after all
Work want me to work that weekend :(
As if I do any work anyways
( , Wed 7 Jun 2006, 17:28, Reply)
I'll hunt you all through Didsbury with a BIG STICK. :)

( , Thu 15 Jun 2006, 11:47, Reply)
Benny OtL and he was doing some research. As it's a week tomorrow I shall suggest he pulls his finger out.

I dont know anyone, and i've only been 2 manc once evar, but meh. Anybody got a sofa i can crash on?
When i was there we ended up in satan's hollow, which was full of emos with funny haircuts and their skinny younger brothers' jeans. I did laugh.
( , Sun 18 Jun 2006, 14:39, Reply)
I would love to come to this but it's my mates flat-warming that very night :( Still, I will prolly be drinking in the Kro2 area just before that, so I'll keep my eyes peeled for stray b3tans!
( , Wed 21 Jun 2006, 15:25, Reply)
because you can't smoke in the Oyster Bar place. Only outside.
Actually, if that place doesn't take kindly to our drunken shenanigans, I suggest a fairly swiftish move to the Tiger Lounge on Cooper Street (just off St Peter's Square), as it's cheapish, not at all wanky, underground, poorly lit and haphazardly supervised. There is also an offshoot area called the Kitty Lounge. Woo.
Oh, and I will also not be arriving until about 6/6.30. Does somebody who's arriving on time (and staying for at least the first few hours) wanna email either me or Pachey their number, so we can find out where the fun is at when the time comes?
