I've had to come into work today spoiling my week off so I can get the handover from the guy who is off on holiday.
Has anything of vague excitement happened whilst I have been away? Has Vipros exploded from smugness yet? Have you found anything exciting on the tinternet? I found a picture of your mum

I'm looking for a phone and broadband bundle. I don't currently have a BT line so I'm looking for a good deal for the line and broadband together. I'd obviously prefer a fair use unlimited download policy to a stupid 30 or 40 gig limit.
Any suggestions?
Edit: Thankyou for your recommendations and for confirming my suspicions about TGB.

anyone know what the login and password are or do they change according to which one you use? I ask because I work near one and pick up the wireless signal pretty well and I'm not allowed to use the net for nefarious purposes at work.

Okay, going to Guatemala was fun, despite the intestinal parasites. Going to see my family a couple of weeks back was... well, not fun per se, but it was good to see my nieces, nephews, parents and even my sisters. I spent basically all of July on the road in some form.
I've been home a week, resting and puttering around the house and taking care of things I neglected for a month. I was looking forward to more quiet time...
...and then I got a call from a weepy daughter who seriously misses her Dad and is getting frustrated and fed up with her aunts (can't say I blame her, it's a wonder she's lasted this long) and wants me to come up there for a few days. As this is seriously out of character for her, I'll be leaving first thing in the morning for a ten hour drive.
*sigh* Guess the house will have to stay minging for another week or so. And my kitties will be sad as they were just getting used to having me back- Josephine has spent every night snuggled up to me.
Ah well, duty calls...

Pick two numbers between 0 and 9, call them X and Y.
Search for X.Y million on Google. What's the top hit?
e.g. I chose 9 and 3. Apparently there were 9.3 million ID thefts last year (according to a company that sells something that prevents ID theft, I'm guessing).

Oh, and has anyone noticed how teenage kids nowadays laugh like dorks? When I was that age, I never heard anyone sound like that.

Get every letter of the alphabet into a sentence.
The classic example being: "The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog"
Here's mine:
"The foreign purple bacterium keenly quizzed the ex-Jehovah's witness"
No cheating!

Is it possible to keep all of my music files on an external hardrive and import them into I-Tunes from there thus freeing up space on my laptop's hardrive.
If it is possible then that would be smashing.

I got myself a "Fin Roast Beef" which, ohmegoodness, looking at the recept, it was FREE. Wowzers.
Then I got myself a "Red Bull", the 355ml kind, I've opened it up already and started drinking.
Then a "Wht/RASP Donut", which they gave me a lovely little bag for.
And a "P/Mall SK 19s", which are ciggerettes.
The total came to £5.80, I gave them a £10 notes, and they gave me back £4.20 in change.
The total net was £5.12 and there was £0.68 vat on that.
Unforutnatly, the club doesn't actually meet up, it's like one of those saving ones (I think), like a lottery sydnicate. I got a form anyway, dispite the disapointment of not having a weekly meeting to go to.

My daughter made some sticky chocolate brownies yesterday and we had very lavish ice-cream sundaes after tea. There's still half a tray left too. Can you beat that?
Alternatively, when did you last fall over without being intoxicated in any way and how did it happen? Are you 3 years old or something?

About my mate who's dad has sadly admitted to alcoholism and is getting some help. The conversation went...
R: Its sad but im glad hes getting some help.
J (Missus): Yeah but YOUR dad drinks alot
R: Yeah... but he doesnt sit in all night drinking he just goes down the pub everynow and then. Every Thursday night he has a business meeting with his business partners and then goes down the pub with his mates.
J: EVERY THURSDAY?
R: Yes
J: I feel sorry for your mum. I'd never let my husband do that!
I was under the impression that this was kinda the way life is, going down the pub with the lads on occasions for a pint, getting away from the wife and kids for a bit.
Do I run for the hills or make her understand about the man/pub/mates relationship?

I'm running Vista and on my quick launch bar, I have a shortcut to a spreadsheet I use. It worked fine until recently, when it started doing this.

I click ok, and then load the file again and it works. It does it about 50% of the time. It's not just the shortcut, it does it if I double-click the file.
But then it's started doing it with other office documents and earlier, I right-clicked a jpg, selected Open with / Paintshop Pro and it threw the same error.
Google hasn't been my friend, and the Microsoft KB is no help either.
Have any of you experienced this and if so, do you have a solution?

I finally sat down yesterday and started writing the novel I've been putting off for the past two years. I've been wanting to try my hand at being an author for a few years and decided that now is the time. I'm not expecting success, then I can't be disappointed, but it'll be fun trying (I hope).
I'm living the dream, yeah baby!
Anyone else embarked on a scary yet exciting adventure recently? Or anyone ever been published and got any tips?

my girlfriend and I were camped in zone Red 1. I quipped it'd be better if we were in Red 5. She didn't understand.
Do you?
