So the lady on BBC 2 just said "and now starting on BBC 4 'he's not a number, he's a free man' it's The Prisioner".
So I turned over to see a programme called The Poisoner starting. Oh dear.

myself, Mr vitC, his dad, and the micronutrient (12 weeks old today!) will be driving up to Glasgow. We live just north of london, so it's about a 7 hr journey in normal weather. However, it's fecking freezing down here just now, snow and ice all around. What do you reckon our chances are of making it?
Anyone else doing stupid journeys for to spend christmas with ungrateful relatives?

I had a lie in, sorted out the small patch of rust on the Vip-mobile, stopped the bastard leaking (in theory) and have just consumed a rack of ribs for lunch. Tonight's dinner is some kind of chilli prawn noodle type dish
How's it going? Good day?

I've already taken the eldest Cap'nlet to work, cleared out my car, done 3 runs to the tip with assorted crap and eaten a fantabulous cooked breakfast and it's only 9:30!
What have you done today to make you feel smug and truly domestic?

Just went to my mailbox, and there's a parcel waiting for me at the post office. This pisses me off, as I've been at home ALL FUCKING DAY and the postman was too fucking lazy to come knock on my door.
Meanwhile, I'm off for a weekend of fishing and debauchery. See you all on Sunday and hope the snow goes away soon!

There's snow here and snow there. It's forecast to be snowing for pretty much the entire trip and there are reports of people having to stop and sleep in their cars last night (before fresh snow) on quite a few of the roads I have to use.
What are you slightly worried about at the moment?

In other news, I'm RICH, I tell you, RIIIIICHHHH!!!!
The last time I was in the bank they looked at my account and asked me if i wanted a meeting to discuss my finances because I was six grand in the red and my mortgage had bounced twice.
How gratifying to walk in there today to pay in a cheque for £43 fucking grand....
I don't feel sick with low-level underlying terror for the first time in about two years.

one of our colleagues just fell in the pond outside. I'm not talking a small pond either, it's probably a metre or two deep and 10 metres by about 30 metres.
apparently something had blown into the edge of the pond (or lake perhaps) he was lying on his stomach to get it and somehow managed a forward roll into the water :-D

who insist on telling you about how all this round here was fields in their day? YES, I REALLY FUCKING WANTED TO KNOW THAT. I REALLY REALLY DID.
The fact that I made it into college and my portfolio is now in (hopefully) safe hands almost makes up for the shit inefficiencies of public transport. I have to say it does look rather pretty round here though.
What's fucked you off today?

and there's this guy that I absolutely hate in the office, I'm worried I'm going to get drunk and tell him what a monumental twat he is.
I wonder if I should just not drink very much so that I remain restrained and tactful, or drink lots and just avoid him all day.
I'm looking forward to the actual do itself though, the menu sounds nom and eating food is my favourite thing to do.
Generic Christmas question: What's your favourite part of Christmas Day?

that MY QUESTION SUGGESTION GOT PICKED!!!!!!
I'm happier than Kaol in a roomful of dead hookers!
So according to Kaols scoring system that means I've got one point for winning a QOTW and a second for having my suggestion picked.
Now I just need to get one in the newsletter and I'm a three point b3tan.
Fuck the lot of yous, i'm better than you.
As for a question, last night I had mulled cider which my neighbour had made with half a bottle of honey rum. It was quite delicious. What's your favourite hot drink (alcoholic or non alcoholic, I'm not bothered which)

So there I am, watching the Idiot Box last night and on comes the fucking adverts. First up is the ectoplasmic fireman from the Gaviscon adverts. Who is he helping get rid of that nasty burning indigestion? Why, it's a young, active, good looking female and doesn't she seem to be suffering, but not for long. Thanks Gaviscon.
Next up, Senekot, for faster digestive transit and who needs this accelerated shitsprayer? Why, it's a young, active, good looking female and doesn't she seem to be suffering, but not for long. Thanks Senekot.
Ok, first things first, the only people I know who suffer from indegestion are folk with stomach ulcers, alcoholics, lolfatties, and curry gobblers. NOT young attractive women, unless of course she has been heaving her guts up due that pesky bulimia leaving her stomach filled with nothing but stomach acid and bile, again, just like every day. Pass the Gaviscon.
My experience of laxative users is very limited, but the main users seem to be anorexics, shedding that unfortunate, 'square meal' they had last night. I know a few svelte young ladies who put their figure down to laxatives, coffee and ciggies. Popping the laxatives as if it was the most natural thing in the world.
So the combination of these two adverts is much more than co-incidence, they ALWAYS seem to appear together and in doing so offer a choice of remedies for the sufferers of eating disorders. However, the cynical will enjoy the fact that either before or after these adverts comes one for Burger King or Mc Donalds and the circle of abuse grinds on. I could be wrong, but I doubt it.

I are a little bit drunk due to $1.50 beer night at my Canadianianaianian local.
I also confirmed my flighty back to blighty.
Who's up for a Lundun bash on the 20th March then?
That took a lot more effort to type than it should have.
Hurrah for beer!
And line breaks.
And putting and at the front of a sentence.
I need bed.

Wow! I'm a little shocked at what's happened the last two days!
Some of you know that the last couple of months have been really really rough for me and how utterly miserable and depressed I've been.
The events of the last two days have totally turned that around, though
Yesterday, I signed my apartment lease renewal...I got a $30 a month reduction in rent, and a $400 renewal bonus off February's rent (score 1!).
I just got a phone call from the apartment complex, I won a drawing that I didn't even know they were having, and have won $150 off my rent in January (score 2!).
I then got an email from Luxor, Las Vegas today offering me 3 free nights, $100 in free slot play and $65 in resort credit - no catch at all so I booked it! (score 3!!)
I can't wait for this weekend....maybe I'll get in the Masters, win some money, and win the big screen TV

Is it just me, or does anyone else have a "regular" set of pans, dishes, cutlery etc for everyday eat at home alone meals, and then another set of "posh" pans and dishes that only come out when you've got visitors?
I have a cheap set of pans, plates, cutlery etc, and then the expensive stuff only comes out on the 6-8 times a year I have people over for dinner!

I has requested a recipes section for OT in the Bugs & Features area. Do you think this would be a good idea? I'd love to get new ideas for recipes without having to trawl through cooks.com etc.
