Let me put it to you this way, sunshineSay you walked into a pub, saw a large group of people gathered chatting, garnered a flicker of recognition from one or two and invited yourself to sit with them despite several of them clearly not liking you. Following this, your attempts to ingratiate yourself with the group involved acting like a prize bellend and banging on about one of the group's dead mother.
What reaction would you expect?

 Yeah
YeahI've got an excellent lighty-up thing for the bottom of BS gin. The bottle glows blue. I am aware this is sad but I like it

 I've told this story before
I've told this story beforebut when younger I woke up early in the morning after a heavy night's drinking and blearily reached for the pint of water on the beside table. Sadly for me it was neat gin

 Yes
Yesan excellent start to the morning. It's this incident that goes some way to convince me that it's not that I have a miraculous anti-hangover power, but that I am perpetually drunk

I think it was Frank Skinner who got to the point of having to drink a litre of sherry before he could get out of bed in the morning.

It can have a depressive impact.
It can have a depressive impact.I have seen a grown man weep about very minor matters after a night on the gin.
I have the occasional one as an aperitif but that's it - partly as gin hangovers are amongst the worst.

I find it too much - they've gone for too many botanicals
I find it too much - they've gone for too many botanicalsTanqueray, Plymouth or Blackwoods for a day-to-day gin. Caorunn, Tanqueray 10 or Sipsmith for the more serious drinks.
But then I'm apparently the only person in the world that doesn't like Hendricks, either. So I'm probably wrong. Except, of course, I'm me, so I'm not.
And, anyway, as I've said four hundred times before - it's less about the gin and more about the tonic. If you're going to use schweppes of any kind or (god forbid) slimline tonic you might just as well start with meths.

 I quite liked Sipsmiths
I quite liked SipsmithsAnd I keep meaning to buy Fever Tree Ginger Ale so I can tuck into my bottle of Hendricks properly. No point using Canada Dry...
