(, Mon 5 Jul 2010, 11:20, archived)
It's a radio station for people that wear glasses with no lenses.

(, Mon 5 Jul 2010, 11:21, archived)
I'm so posh, I've got frameless glasses with no lenses.

(, Mon 5 Jul 2010, 11:22, archived)
the emperor's new glasses?

(, Mon 5 Jul 2010, 11:23, archived)
I've just put a twig behind each ear, and they are now eco-frameless-lensless glasses.
I'm SOOOOOOO Upper-middle Class Tarquin!
(, Mon 5 Jul 2010, 11:24, archived)
/steals from Jupitus
You're so posh, you don't get beer goggles. You get madeira pince-nez.
(, Mon 5 Jul 2010, 11:30, archived)
my contact lenses have got horn rims.

(, Mon 5 Jul 2010, 11:26, archived)
I'm bucking the trend.
I have glasses with lenses and I listen to 6 music. Stick that in your pipe with no tobacco in it.
(, Mon 5 Jul 2010, 11:27, archived)
I bet you own over 4 different types of patterned bow ties.

(, Mon 5 Jul 2010, 11:32, archived)
How dare you I own 6.
One for each working day of the week and one for special occassions.
(, Mon 5 Jul 2010, 11:41, archived)
Plus one which rotates...

Hurrah!

(, Mon 5 Jul 2010, 11:22, archived)
I'm very happy about this.

(, Mon 5 Jul 2010, 11:22, archived)
Aw excellent! Now we can all get back to not listening to it

(, Mon 5 Jul 2010, 11:25, archived)
Wanker.

(, Mon 5 Jul 2010, 11:27, archived)
Thank christ for that
Now I'll be able to go back to thinking about how I might one day listen to it but probably won't.
(, Mon 5 Jul 2010, 11:26, archived)
rather that than let Adam and Joe back on TV

(, Mon 5 Jul 2010, 11:28, archived)
HURRAH!
Now can we have a campaign to kill BBC3 instead?

THESE ARE QUALITY WORTHWHILE SHOWS.

(, Mon 5 Jul 2010, 11:41, archived)
Watch them on FX

(, Mon 5 Jul 2010, 11:51, archived)
Isn't this really just class snobbery?

(, Mon 5 Jul 2010, 11:37, archived)
Basically, yes

(, Mon 5 Jul 2010, 11:39, archived)
don't be ridiculous,
it is taste snobbery.
(, Mon 5 Jul 2010, 12:29, archived)
Yes but the BBC don't fund poor people.
Except for documentaries and stuff.
(, Mon 5 Jul 2010, 11:40, archived)
See, every time I see anyone railing against Radio 1 or BBC3, what I really see is;
"WAAAAAAH THE COMMONERS HAVE THINGS THEY LIKE, LOWER CLASSES SHOULD BE WORKING IN THE PIT NOT ENJOYING TELLY, WAAAAAAAH WE SHOULD HAVE MORE DOCUMENTARIES ON ART BY BRIAN SEWELL"
(, Mon 5 Jul 2010, 11:41, archived)
How will they ever understand quality if they don't have it forced down their throats every minute of every day?
I'd like to see the schedules of Radio 1 and Radio 3 swapped for a day to watch the proles squirm in pain as their brains try to understand.
(, Mon 5 Jul 2010, 11:43, archived)
I don't think I've ever listened to Radio 3

(, Mon 5 Jul 2010, 12:21, archived)
Me neither, but I'm not a prole who needs his mind forcefully activating.

(, Mon 5 Jul 2010, 12:24, archived)
people in liking things you don't like shocker
:P
(, Mon 5 Jul 2010, 12:24, archived)
I'm going to strap you to a chair and force you to watch repeats of Question Time until you start fantasising about David Dimbleby.

(, Mon 5 Jul 2010, 12:31, archived)
My specialist subject would be YIFFING.

(, Mon 5 Jul 2010, 12:37, archived)
That's Mastermind.
GOD YOU DON'T KNOW ANYTHING I HOPE YOU CHOKE TO DEATH ON YOUR OWN LOBOTOMISED BRAIN
(, Mon 5 Jul 2010, 12:43, archived)
Oh yeah
Question Time is unutterably dull.

WORKING IN THE PIT NOT ENJOYING TELLY, WAAAAAAAH WE SHOULD HAVE MORE DOCUMENTARIES ON ART BY BRIAN SEWELL WATCHING ITV
(, Mon 5 Jul 2010, 11:51, archived)
It's got nothing to do with class
Popular TV which is commercially viable will get made by the private sector. Radio 1 offers nothing different from what Capital and the like offer and BBC 3 is the same as ITV 1,2 and 3 (but not 4)

yeah but, shall i buy mad men series 1 & 2 for £16?
i've never seen it, is it worth paying out for in case i don't like it?
(, Mon 5 Jul 2010, 11:33, archived)
I never got into it.

(, Mon 5 Jul 2010, 11:43, archived)
i made my randomburns and was ready to send them out
but then i tested one and about 12 tracks in, it gets all distorted. tried all the others and they had the same problem. now i need to start again.

it is coming though, promise
(, Mon 5 Jul 2010, 11:50, archived)
Ok
I've only recieved two so far, if yours turns up that will break last years record of two.
(, Mon 5 Jul 2010, 11:52, archived)
I've had 3 of mine.
I've still to send out. They're sitting ready to go on the dining room table... Just need to actually get to a post-office.
(, Mon 5 Jul 2010, 11:54, archived)
did you get one from me?
did it work all the way through?
(, Mon 5 Jul 2010, 12:01, archived)
Yes :) and Yes :)

(, Mon 5 Jul 2010, 12:34, archived)
I think next year I'll offer on /talk to swap with people.
Unless I get all 5 this year.
(, Mon 5 Jul 2010, 12:02, archived)
Oh fuck, I keep forgetting to do mine.
And I'm usually so good (apart from the whole postage costs fiasco)
(, Mon 5 Jul 2010, 12:47, archived)
I got two from Lazygamer (good man, sent out last year's too, plus a load of fun stuff)
and one from Spangolin. No others. I'm contracted to send out 6, which are on the way as soon as I can afford stamps and one airmail to South Africa.
(, Mon 5 Jul 2010, 12:58, archived)
dude, I've got yours in the footwell of my car
I will post it today if I get chance

I haven't been all extravagant this year and bought Lightscribe discs

/poor
(, Mon 5 Jul 2010, 13:02, archived)
I feel your pain
No hurry at all, I'll look forward to getting it. I'm not sure if those that eventually receive mine will thank me...
(, Mon 5 Jul 2010, 13:05, archived)
It's got moments of good interspersed between hours of 'look I'm drinking in a suit! A SUIT! it's the 60's!'

(, Mon 5 Jul 2010, 11:48, archived)
You forgot the 'I'm also Smoking everywhere'

(, Mon 5 Jul 2010, 11:55, archived)
ok, this isn't looking good
i thought it was supposed to be brilliant
(, Mon 5 Jul 2010, 11:59, archived)
I enjoy it, don't get me wrong
But the majority of the series is style over substance. Wonderful style, but actual 'things happening' doesn't go on so much. It's just a lot of 'oh look Don's drinking alone again what a dapper man oh doesn't he look tortured'.

But I enjoy it.

so what about the asian network?
their listeners aren't predominantly internet/twitter users, did they pull through?
(, Mon 5 Jul 2010, 12:28, archived)
I don't give a shit either way, but if it makes people happy, then it's a good thing it's saved.

(, Mon 5 Jul 2010, 12:30, archived)
This is the reason I think it's a bad thing.

(, Mon 5 Jul 2010, 12:37, archived)
Alright Utol. How's your PAIN today?

(, Mon 5 Jul 2010, 12:44, archived)
Alright Esme,
my PAIN is EXTREME from doing monkey bars in the early hours of the morning at the carnival in Bristol, totally worth it though. How is your PAIN?

OH MAN WANT!
I hope they get good homes, gumtree isn't exactly the most responsible place to rehome animals, particularly cats like Bengals.

My PAIN isn't too bad, my foot is sore. I think I need new runners.
