How come whenever you play Solitaire it's nothing like a proper random real life game? You can see the computer deliberately turning up cards in a specific order, and it's nothing like how you'd play in real life.

i don't think so
it dies in the middle of a game, then the tray won't open. you can get the disc out manually, but it won't recognise anything you put in. sometimes it rights itself after being turned off for a few hours, but it wouldn't work for the whole of last week
Jam (also known as jelly or preserves) is a type of sweet spread or condiment made with fruits or sometimes vegetables, sugar, and sometimes pectin if the fruit's natural pectin content is insufficient to produce a thick product. Jam and its variations are often spread on bread, and used as a culinary sweetener, for example in yoghurt.

i thought the tuesday thing was all a myth
an urban legend if you will...
today seems to be providing solid evidence that Tuesdays do infact exist

Apparently
If you look in a mirror on a tuesday, and repeat 20 times "Yadseut boon", as if by magic the mirror will steam up, a paragraph of nonsense will suddenly be scrawled on it (something like this solitare crap), and a tattoo of a red L will appear on your forehead.
True story.

i need a pronuncioation check
Yad-see-ut Yad-soo-it Yads-e-ut Yads-ee-oo-t
or is it a silent "yads"?
oh, I don't want to risk mis-pronunciation, there could be repercussions

Yad as in Lad, and Seut as in Suit.

perhaps it's time the message board got renamed, although a read of the faq's would prevent this mistake, or 2 separate links for here and talk were included on the newsletter.

Radical I know,
but perhaps people shouldn't just randomly join message boards if they have no idea how they work, what sort of thing gets posted on them etc...

it's the word messageboard that i think confuses these people
maybe i'm talking bollocks. i'd never been near a message board before coming here and had been getting the news letter for ages before i even knew this existed. it's only as a result of having a bindun idea for a compo entry that i stumbled a/board.

Well we wouldn't want to
call it "Image Board". That might give too much away!

that would be far too simple
and remove the fun of abusing misguided noobs. zoo would be a title for this board for obvious reasons.

Same here.
I'd lurked for a while and finally got round to registering a username when I wanted to post something in a compo.
