# Haha
Now THIS, I like =]

Minor TJ:

Does anyone use the FireFTP plugin?
I haven't changed any settings or my connection, but I can't connect to my sites to upload and it's irritating me =[
(, Thu 29 Nov 2007, 20:24, archived)
# I use it
but someone else set it up because i'm 36 and retarded
(, Thu 29 Nov 2007, 20:28, archived)
# I haven't changed any of the settings, which irritates me =[
And they all look fine.. I can't work it out *sob*

It either tells me straight away "Unable to make a connection. Please try again." or pretends it's connecting for a minute and then tells me that.

I do not like it =[

# Can you connect by ordinary FTP?
(, Thu 29 Nov 2007, 20:33, archived)
# I haven't tried yet, I've been fiddling with stuff on FireFTP to try and make it work =[
I shall hunt around for another FTP thang now though.

# start->run->ftp
if you're on windows. (But I have a vague memory that you've got a mac?)

# use that boot camp thing

open up a shell on your mac

and type ftp :)

# I do not own boot camp
Nor do I have windows on a separate partition.

You are a silly, SILLY man.

# no you minge
open a shell/terminal on the mac

presumably running something bsd'ish they have something resembling a cli

be a hero, use the command line

# Good question, actually, how do you open a shell prompt on OS X?
I get the impression from this page that there's an equivalent built-in FTP command to the windows one:
www.ss64.com/osx/ftp.html
I have never used OS X, though.
Edit:
www.macedition.com/bolts/bolts_20020805.php
"terminal.app" is the answer, apparently.

# I don't know what I'm doing well enough to risk this..
I've broken several computers in my days, and I haven't paid this one off yet.

I think I'll just fiddle with some settings and/or give up in a bit =]

If I was more confident, I might give it a go, but I'm feeling a bit like a pansy tonight =D

Cheers for the help though

... and discover you've got a fully-fledged UNIX system already installed?

I can't seem to connect through the FTP program I just downloaded either, but it didn't give me an option to put in a password, so I don't know whether it's user error with this thing...

I've never had problems before today, it was fine earlier this morning in fact, I'm confused now =[
