# PRIMETIME BABY!
Following the success of my work for The Wrong Door, the BBC have commissioned me to do an animated tv show
that will go out in place of the god awful Robin Hood and Merlin things on BBC1 Saturday night around 6.30pm
It's called king Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table and it has been written by myself and the one with the nice pullovers from Time Team
All the animation is done by hand and each episode runs at about 74 minutes
Here are some bits from the first episode 'Rape and Pillage never tasted so good'

I think it starts on November 20th, so set your videos
ignore the text, it was just meant to be silly and fantastical like the pictures, I didn't mean to trick anyone and had no idea that it would. I'm sorry for any upset I've caused, I honestly thought I was just drawing some funny pictures with an equally silly backstory.
I am flattered that anyone thought it might be true. I didn't expect that.

# really, how in any way is it possible to be serious?
I typed a load of nonsense to go with the usual scribbles, full of utter unbelievable stuff. "Rape and Pillage never tasted so good" as the title of a BBC1 Saturday night Primetime tv show?
Each episode hand drawn and 74 minutes long?

I'm baffled by these responses :)

# been a loooooong day....
extremely susceptible to suggestion.

I think on that note I should go and wash my gullibility away with beer.
(, Tue 16 Sep 2008, 17:17, archived)
# Well Fuck You then
It's not possible, and I wasn't taken in by it, but in scanning your post it's more than believable

'Very talented user, who has recently contributed to a very successful BBC3 show suggests some of his work may be taken on independantly'

Fucking shock horror. Stop making people feel shit for wishing you well.
(, Tue 16 Sep 2008, 17:18, archived)
# what?!
Ok, so what I thought was funny (writing some made up, innocent, nonsense back story to a picture I just drew) has gone down badly. No offense was meant, I never meant to trick anyone. I am flattered that people thought this could be possible but it never crossed my mind.
(, Tue 16 Sep 2008, 17:22, archived)
# It didn't go down badly with me
I thought it was funny, but then I read your post in full rather than scanned as we often do on this 'ere site. You have a distinctive style, and you're pretty damn talented now, I was just trying to point out that if you didn't read carefully enough to see the joke it was wholly believable. In fact the only reason I read closely enough to see it was because I was excited you may finally be about to get a shot at something to sink your teeth into- much as others were which is probably why you got some quite hurt sounding responses. But mostly because your response to their well wishings was 'Pffft! you fucking idiots, how the hell did you believe that shit?!'.

To paraphrase.

# I think he was more bewildered that anyone could believe it rather than insulting their intelligence

I just reacted badly to the situation. It was funny, and as someone said down there 'just take the fucking compliment that we think it's possible'

To paraphrase.

Edit: ah. Congratulations and other sentiments rescinded.

# I wasn't trying to trick people
I just typed nonsense, why did people believe it?!
(, Tue 16 Sep 2008, 17:16, archived)
# Because you're not known for stunts.
That and I think we were all too proud of you to consider that you might not be telling the truth up until people started being called fools. Which is fair enough, I suppose, if that's what you think. I don't think I'm a fool, I think I don't go into every situation with one eyebrow raised and I'm quite proud of that, even though it's brought me nothing but hassle.
(, Tue 16 Sep 2008, 17:25, archived)
# It wasn't a stunt!
I often type rubbish, this is all it was.
I think the responses simply show that people here are lovely and automatically jump at the happy option that B3ta people deserve stuff, so when a sniff of it is accidentally put out there there is excitement.
I really do apologise, I'll think before I post in future. :(
(, Tue 16 Sep 2008, 17:34, archived)
# Personally, I skim read and gave you the benefit of the doubt.

we should get out own TV channel though... I wonder how much it costs to buy bandwidth in the digital spectrum... and then how much revenue you can get from advertiting and such like... I mean, for fucks sake, if QVC can run like 6 channels selling tat to dolies, shirley we can get something going showing repeat animations and re runs of things b3tans would want to see...
