Sorry for TJ but..
does anyone using shareaza know if it will work through a proxy server? i've had no luck so far. Thanks

pretty sure it does
however i havn't done it, what problem are you having is it just not connecting as i have that problem with edonkey and gnutella 2 sometimes
( ,

it's just not connecting
the site just helps if you have a router, but nothing about proxy

dunno
all i know is that one computer has the modem connected to it, which then sends it to the other computers wirelessly. it says cisco systems on it. that is the extent of my knowledge
( ,

It sounds to me like
this computer of which you speak is the routing machine. Who set up that computer? Best bet is to ask them about forwarding the ports that Shareaza needs to your computer.
Without port forwarding you should be able to make outbound connections though. It's just that you wont be able to get files off people with the same problem as yourself.

Gnutella 2 in Shareaza is
refusing to connect for me at the moment, regardless of how many times I press that bloody button.

What kind
of proxy server?
I'm using it though a linux based firewall/routing box. I just forward the correct ports through.

sorry to waste people's time
i've had a smashing idea. i download the files on the computer with DIRECT connection to internet, and then distribute them around network. foolproof
( ,
Mon 19 Apr 2004, 23:07,

That would probably work
although I don't really see why you were having a problem using it on your computer in the first place. Unless the computer with direct connection to the internet blocks the ports that Shareaza uses in both directions. In which case you'll still have a problem running it on the directly connected computer...
Oh well... good luck!
