Mrs Wizard's last 2024 painting
I made this!
Painted from a reference photo she took at the Palace of Monserrat. Nice place to visit, BTW.
Had some trouble with the little pillars in the forground ;)
Have a great 2025 b3tards!

We've got a new project- Gleeful Beasts - and here is the first of quite a few clips from it - Stebbans's Baloof
I made this!
Stabbans's Baloof is a mighty predator indeed!

Nice
but deep subterranean microbes as well as life around hydrothermal vents would be largely unaffected.

I presume there would be some kind of catastrophic starsplosion or something
It's unthinkable that the science could be wrong. It's incredibly rigorous as far as research is concerned.

I'm not exactly a professional astrophysicist
but I think I'm right to suggest that removing helium(s) might actually prolong the life of the star.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_lifting
Reducing it down to a red dwarf (or even a white dwarf maybe?) could extend the suns life by hundreds if not thousands of billions of years.
Perhaps therefore the baloof is misunderstood and may be humanity's ultimate salvation.

Bit bleak, killing off the earth. Couldn't it just fart or burp helium and then give its position away with high pitched squeaks

Kosmic Kidnap Teaser
I made this!
Been learning Blender since lockdown by making a short film. About 2/3rds of the way through so I figured it was time I started posting clips from it!

Looks rather good!
Did you make everything from scratch or have you used a lot of pre-made props? If you want even more work to do, ask me about rocket exhaust plumes.

Yeah the whole thing has been a Blender learning exercise in building or animating - so after building a bunch of space stuff I decided to lump it together. I downloaded and modified a crate model but otherwise all me.

Usually stuff like this looks shit, and best I can do is not be mean - but I actually want to watch the end of the story.
Applause!

I think right now we ALL need a bit of late 70s Argentian prog-rock with a fretless bass solo
Skip to about 3m40s if you just want to experience the bass solo (and it is very impressive)

Sidenote
When I was doing computer studies at school back when the world was in black and white, on a test question where the correct answer was Ada Lovelace, I put Linda Lovelace. Oh, how my teacher laughed.

British Museum numinastics curator is a proper nerd
I've been enjoying the British Museum's Curator's Corner series - the curators are always very informative, sometimes a little shy, often a bit strange.
Here Henry Flynn discusses the Doctor Who bank notes, including an expensive scene recreation.

I can't keep up. I give up. Cancel my interwebs.
I'm going back to camp fire stories, talking drums, town criers and carrier pigeons.

The town criers are now happily medicated and the carrier pigeons have to be carried as they are too chubby to fly.

Chris "Merrick" Hughes could probably give me a run for my money in a pub quiz, but I reckon Johnny Bivouac is thick as pigshit.

A Very Hallmark Supercut Christmas
I made this!
This is niche but I'm addicted to those cheesy Hallmark movies this time of year and spent a lot of time turning a load of them into a mini movie/supercut with a Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross soundtrack, plus a few weird touches. Oh yeah - it's 35 mins :/

Hallmark Christmas Horror
It never stops snowing but the snow never gets too deep.
All the winter/Christmas costume tropes are mandatory in Hallmark Christmas town, you must wear red and the gloves.
Everything looks nice (YOU MUST HANG THE DECORATIONS), everyone seems nice and yet, to the outsider there's a sense of tension, unease and coercion.
Welcome to Midwintär, you'll never leave.
