I went once with my brothers to a taping when I was 12 at the ABC studios in Melbourne
my brother dared me to crawl on stage during an interview molly was doing with hall and oates. Molly ruffled my hair and said "get back, tiger" and continued with the interview without skipping a beat. Apparently they cut to a close up of oates so nobody at home saw me. admittedly not the best anecdote, but they can't all be winners

You could compile this and the peregrine falcon anecdote
in a Nearly Framed book without you on the cover. I expect the last story to be about stepping in front of a Google Streetview car only to find your face blurred on the internet

Civillization VI for free.
Fair warning: it's Epic Games.
(I get it, some people hate them. Fine. Cya.)
I downloaded GTA5 from it last week... it was a royal pain in the ass to register - requires two-factor auth, and took like 10 hours to download 'coz they were swamped, but eh, it worked.
Had to give a legit mobile number, but not a bank account or anything, so I'm OK with that.
Just got Civ 6. It only took about 5 mins to download. Is available for the next few days.

I made this!
An asynchronous piece for isolated musicians, by my talented niece.
I posted her preliminary flute recording, now here's the mixed work.
Wistful and eerie - but if we're all enjoying the Isodistraction videos, this works in the same sort of way, but for your orchestral geeks.
"I made this" cause she's my niece.

While I agree with the sentiment, i find his speech overly flowery, and that preacher trick of getting louder and louder doesn't do it for me either. I prefer people who speak more plainly. "out of a mountain of despair a stone of hope" indeed. Maybe some gravel of disenchantment to go with that.
"Well, what did he talk about, Rudy?"
"I don't know, something about having a dream?"
"A dream?"
"Well, there was other stuff there. A desert of human kindness or patio of oppression or something. But he definitely said a few times that he had a dream"

yeah, his best lines are his direct ones, but there very few of them.
I understand the importance of the speech in the context of the black civil rights movement, I just don't think on its own merits it's a great speech, there's too much preachy waffle for my liking. Now if you want a great speech, listen to the 3/4 time rev-up by the coach at the 2004 Riverina footy grand final

But in the end his children used his speech to fuck over copyright law so they could live off his words, and prevent his message from reaching a wider audience so they could make money.
That's why yo don't hear this speech very often - usually people who post it get sued.

It's the same with car journeys - what is it that makes people stock up with masses of snacks for a journey that takes no longer than the time between two meals? It's as if sitting still makes your calorie intake needs double.
