Times like now are when I really love Australian humour in fillums!
Rogue Basically - up in the NT of Aus - on a croc tour - killer croc, kills lots of people.
The bit that absolutely made the (otherwise fairly average) fillum for me was that the music to the credits was "Never Smile at a Crocodile"
My day is made. Completely.

This'll come in handy if I ever accidentally find myself in the Middle Ages.

is my last day at work in the USA! in 3 and a half weeks I should be back in London, looking for somewhere to live, and preparing to start my new job, and I CAN'T WAIT! I should also know by then whether my baby is male or female, but I'm much more excited about coming home.
Anyone got any stories about tramp vomit or the BNP to dampen my enthusiasm for living in the UK?

I've just had an email from someone with whom I'm collaborating on a work project. To save her blushes, let's call her "Sarah".
She's not in the UK, and English is not her first language. All the same: a return email address like "sarahfux@..." ought to strike her as asking for trouble, what say?

How have easter-eggs been for you this year? Do you plan to eat any interesting or unusual easter-eggs?

anyone living in the USA or anyone who follows baseball knows that this morning (Thursday, it's only 10.45pm here) a rookie baseball pitcher for the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim was killed in a car accident this morning.
Usually, when an athlete departs our world, I really am ambivalent about it, but last night I was at the baseball game and saw him pitch. He looked good.
A promising young lad, 22 years old, on the verge of making a HUGE mark in Major League Baseball.
For whatever reason, this tragedy has upset me......he was hit by a drunk driver who was on a suspended license for a previous driving under the influence conviction...he was just too young.
RIP, Nick Adenhart. I'm glad I saw your last game, and I hope I get jury duty when that cunt that killed you is on trial.

I won't be in Edinburgh this weekend. I have a friend's birthday and it's a long way away and I don't know most of you people.
If you're not going, post here with your reasons.
EDIT: if you ARE going - and you don't live in Scotland - what are your reasons?

Yeah, bog off.
Anyway, I bought some nail polish remover today and now my nails are not black and orange.
Reading the back of the bottle - I do this, regardless of what the product is - I noticed it said 'Bitrex protected'
I looked up Bitrex on Wikipedia:
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Denatonium_benzoate
The bitterest substance known to man, or something. And I thought, come on... how bitter can it be?
I don't regret many things in life, but I can tell you how bitter it is now.
PRETTY FUCKING BITTER.

*rant ahoy*
I generally enjoy my job but it's becoming increasingly apparent that two people that I have to work with fairly closely with are massively racist cunts. Two sample conversations from today alone, both certified irony free:
Dave: *enters stage right having just arrived at the office*
Dave: I was walking down the High St this morning when this drugged-up spade called me a racist!
Me: You'd met before then?
Dave: *looks blank*
~~~~~~ later that afternoon ~~~~~~
John: 'Ere, Dick. What's this? I can't make head nor tail of it.
*shoves print out of some code on my desk*
Me: Ah, that's Perl. It can be a bit arcane.
Dave: Yeah, it's a bit of a minority language.
John: *whistfully* A bit like English in this country now really.
Dave: Yeah, tell me about it.
Me: *speechless*
I could have picked similar stories from almost any other day.
I really love this job- and the unemployment QOTW made me realise how bloody lucky I am at the moment- but it drives me up the wall having to put up with these two. Reporting them doesn't seem like much of an option as it's a small company and they are both tight with the CEO and HR bod. I guess I'll just have to cunt them in the fuck instead.
*and breathes*
I nearly spat my tea out yesterday morning watching the news on BBC1.
Who would have expected to hear the phrase "tartan strap-on" at quarter to seven in the morning.
They were, however talking about this:
I'm looking at trying some form of meditation, mainly for de-stressing/getting in touch with my inner being and all that hippy shite.
Does anybody have any suggestions on different types or starting points?
Cheers.
First quesiton: Where do you see yourself in 10 years
Second question: Which three things do you think impressed me the least about your application
Third to a thousands questions: SQL query questions, even though the job's not technical. It's in sales, cold calling basically, only they didn't mention that in the ad, nor till half way through the interview.
Shower of bastards
Can anyone recommend any online dating sites?
I've use a couple in the past, but with mixed results.
I'm not looking for 'quick and easy' more 'polite conversation and we'll see what happens'
Answers on a postcard to the usual address.
Thanks.
Okay, which one of you posted that to FML? 'Fess up...
on the QOTW thread, but I'll put it here instead.
Last week's QOTW (mine !) I had suggested because unemployment was getting me down so much.
Hearing how every copes, makes the best of it, comes out the other side has been, to say the least, cathartic.
At the moment I am spending far too much time indoors, on my own, looking for work and getting nowhere. This is not conducive to good mental health - yes, I should take some of the advice offered by many (myself included) to get out more, and so on. However there are other non-unemployment things going on that aren't helping much.
I just wanted to say a big "thank you" to B3ta for picking my question, and also to all of you lot.
In the main, this section of B3ta is filled with lovely, caring people and the mutual support group here is, I can tell, worth a lot to those of us who from time to time have need of a kindly word.
You're all wonderful - now I expect lots of replies to this telling me to fuck off !
