I kind of combined Vipros and PorkyLips' recipes for hot toddies last night and in addition to still being here I got a full night's sleep for the first time in about a fortnight. Ayyyy.
Still had lots of lovely phlegm for breakfast with my coffee this morning but didn't feel so much like shit as I couldn't face my bike ride to work, and the ride really blew away the cobwebs. Fonzy-type Ayyyy :)
So, whilst I wouldn't call it a cure, things have certainly improved. Vipros and PorkyLips don't get a token for my arse in this case (probably much to their relief lol), but a cold beer is definitely in the bank for them when the opportunity presents itself. Thanks guys ;)
PS: Having another tonight - might well be medicinal but it's also quite nice

Very nice. I may now eat my pepparami.
I don't need a poo yet. I may need a wee soon as I've had two cups of tea.

is just next door to the RMT Union headquarters on Chalton St, Camden. There's a load of TV vans outside now waiting for the fat bulldog impersonating cunt, Bob Crow, to venture outside and make a statement. I think I may have to chain myself to my desk otherwise I might have to run outside and kick him hard in the nuts.
So, my question is - Who would you most like to kick in the nuts (or lady garden) and why?

Ms Crow is presently in Strasbourg and has just emailed to tell me that she has found Le Pont du Corbeau - i.e., CROW BRIDGE.
I think this is a wonderful name for a bridge and that more things should be named after crows.

how difficult is it to buy a house exactly?
Very if you are dealing with imbeciles. Today I visited my solicitor to sign all the legal guff and start the completion. That is until we looked at the building plans.
I am purchasing a ground floor apartment with a wee little plot of garden at the back, however I dont have a back door, I need to walk through someone elses garden to access it.
According to the property plans the persons garden I need to traverse to access my garden is not communal access, its private property, which means it is impossible for me to actually reach my garden.
Better still at the front of my apartment I have a patio door that opens to a path and a small patch of grass. This is also private property, and not mine. So I can open the patio doors but as soon as I step out of the door im technically trespassing on somebody elses property.
What.
The.
Fuck?
This is clearly fucking wrong, which means after almost 3 months im no nearer completion, but, we have now proved to the housing association and the estate agents that we have never received the correct documentation, which means my 6 weeks to completion actually starts when they provide the right property plans, and I get a cool £1000 cashback, wheee.
But what a fucking palava this is!

about 4:40ish. Been here since 8:25ish. Will leave about 5:10. Not yet done one single thing which could be descibed as work.
Apart from one phone call.

How about a thread for venting? Either against the frankly ridiculous demands of the unions, or the horrible tone of the TfL press release?

is a prime example of how the Black Box system has serious flaws.
The aircraft are in near-constant (if not constant) radio communication with someone on the ground, i.e. Air traffic control.
Why don't they use some of the radio bandwidth (lets say, 9.6kbp/s, or the quality of a phone call) to stream the cockpit musings to a safe place on the ground?
Surely it is better to have low bandwidth copies of the recorder, than to have no frigging idea where the plane fell out the sky, let alone whats on the black box?
Discuss.

I can't make the London bash on Saturday, and given I'm going to be a 1st-time dad in July, I may never get to one. Just found out from work that I have to be in London tomoz nite - so I'm off the Porterhouse for a monobash.
Does this mean I'm sad, or just a total twat?
