I've failed to take into consideration just how much less traffic there is on a Saturday morning compared to weekdays. So looks like I am going to be super early
What have you underestimated recently? Or why are you up early on Saturday?

Congrats to DJTP and Roota.
Anyone still awake?
I might have some toast - should I put jam, honey or marmite on it?

But just wanted to let you know that I got the first job!
Now, let's see how I do for the others.
Any good news?
Have a good weekend!

it's only 3 days a week, but still fairly significant, particularly as I am managing 3 projects already, as well as doing the technical work on another 5. Somehow I have to fit all of the management paperwork and the technical work in the 2 days a week I will have here.
While my secondment makes a loss for the company because of broadscale stupidity.
What stupid situations have you been forced into?
alt q: what are you doing tonight? I'm playing a gig

I've just deleted Jeff Bridge's website off my favorite's list. I thought it was time I moved on.

I've just read Ian Duncan Smith's proposed overhaul of the benefits system in summary, and at first glance it makes a lot of sense to me.
I've always felt the worst off in our society are people at the bottom end of the earning scale, who get very little money but with no reward for trying. It should not make financial sense for people to be on benefits and not work: that's fucking stupid if you ask me.
Anyone have any thoughts on this?

The other thread's too long.
I thought I'd say hi and catch up. I'm here ready to serve the public but there aren't any of them out of bed yet.
Last night I saw my lovely baby cousin, counselled his demented mother and didn't get much done at all in time for my trip Darn Sarf. Gonna see the djtp and some friends, go to a gig, AND add an extra day to my weekend. I'm exhausted, totally exhausted, but happy.
What we all doing today?

Very often I would come up with a little phrase or something that would make me laugh, but then never come accross a situation where I'm with someone and I can say it, or if that situation does occor, I forget about it.
It's friday today, which means lots of things, but mostly it means it's the 5th day along in the week. Let's reflect on the week, has it been totally high five worthy, or has it been a bit Meh'? I'm half way between the two but leaning towards the high five side.

Didn't someone start a new thread a minute ago?
I'm sure I saw one but it has since been deleted.
Oh well, seeing as I'm here now. What are you doing this evening?

It has a dinosaur-like neck. It's yellow. Yeah, technically an elephant is not a miracle. Technically. They've been here for hundreds of years…

i've got a mac, and the missus has got a pc. i've never used a linux/unix based os.
every so often i see threads about using ubuntu or whatever and i get OScurious.
my mac is intel, so i could use bootcamp to dual boot. But really, is there any point? Can anyone give me a compelling reason to use linux/unix?

If I didn’t know these people were real I would call ‘Chris Morris’ on this article, there are so many incredible quotes.
For example: "Gravity's cool," Violent J says, "but not as cool as magnets."
Or “Have you ever stood next to an elephant, my friend?" asks Violent J. "A fucking elephant is a miracle. If people can't see a fucking miracle in a fucking elephant, then life must suck for them, because an elephant is a fucking miracle. So is a giraffe."
Reading this has cheered me immensely: 'practically a tribute to not knowing things'...

it's so fucking depressing.
Sum up your week to me in five words. Or a haiku, the choice is yours.
Alt Q: Do you hate Cheryl Cole or actually quite like her? I quite like her, she's pretty (albeit mostly plastic) and she seems quite pleasant (except for the racially aggravated assault) and she does appear to have some talent (despite it being in PR rather than actual singing).

You missed your chance to post that link.
So, what are we having for lunch today?
(, Thu 11 Nov 2010, 12:22, 112 replies, latest was 15 years ago)
If not, why not? And has the whole thing been cheapened by cunts announcing minutes of silence every few minutes for increasingly trivial things?
I personally lament the passing of the good old days when you could have a jolly good old war and not feel bad about it. I blame lily-livered liberal attitudes such as this for the breakdown of modern society.

i was just thinking that, despite having had at least a sip of champagne on my birthday for the last 25 years (as a child it was a treat, as an adult you've got to be bloody quick around my family if you want more than a sip), i've never actually opened a bottle of fizz in my life - it scares me!
i've also never fired a gun, been skiing, knitted anything or sold anything on ebay.
what random things that most people probably take for granted have you never done??

And it's probably because of "freezing Mondays" here in the office. Do you think I should take these people to court?
In other news, I'm happy. I've got 2 job interviews in 2 weeks, and I'll probably have a few more coming. And all the jobs look really, really interesting... It's going to be difficult to choose.
Why, oh, why, do you spend a whole year looking for a job and nothing comes, and just 3 weekes before your massive holidays, when you're busy like hell, everything comes at the same time? Does this type of thing happen to everybody, or is it just me?
And kisses to everybody. I am, indeed, happy today.
