here's a question I'm not sure on how to go about answering...
depending on the answer, the licence for a particular piece of software varies...

are political parties deemed (in the eyes of the law - not by our cynical ones) as non-profit organisations?

EDIT: PS it's Friday and I'm very tired...

no

(, Fri 22 May 2009, 15:57, archived)
I'd have thought so.

(, Fri 22 May 2009, 15:57, archived)
I think there's an internet thing that helps you find information out.
It's called ruegle or dougal or something.
(, Fri 22 May 2009, 15:57, archived)
I thought I'd also ask to see where people's opinions lie...
I found it quite interesting if you must know..

He was the lead singer of a band, I was an impressionable 14 year old, I thought he was Johnny Depp... 6 years of friendship later, we finally got together.

Oh, sorry, HA. ;)

Pretty much the same.
Not a clue how to spend the weekend. Possibly asleep, or in a drunken haze.

They receive donations and spend them on posters and stickers and leaflets
which makes them like religions and charities and all the other mentals who don't live in the real world.
(, Fri 22 May 2009, 16:03, archived)
what world do they live in, then?
and how do I get there?
(, Fri 22 May 2009, 16:04, archived)
The world where shoving paper through letterboxes equates to "making an impact"

(, Fri 22 May 2009, 16:06, archived)
But it does.
Every so often you get a candidate who says "Fuck all this leaflet and poster nonsense, it doesn't make a difference."
Then they lose their deposits.
(, Fri 22 May 2009, 16:08, archived)
I got some paper like that the other day.
There is a quote from someone called Gillian on it. It says "I'm not voting for the Tories because of the last recession, never mind this one."
Which is perhaps the most astonishingly poor bit of reasoning I've ever seen, as well as an utterly desperate attempt at distraction.
(, Fri 22 May 2009, 16:09, archived)
That's not illogical.
Leaving aside the question of whether or not you agree with the proposition she's saying "I've seen how the Tories act during a recession, and I don't like it."
Perfectly logical.
(, Fri 22 May 2009, 16:11, archived)
No, she's saying
there was a recession during the last Tory government, which was the fault of the Tories because they were in government. Whereas this one doesn't count.
(, Fri 22 May 2009, 16:13, archived)
Maybe this one doesn't.
Did you get a terms of usage statement with your recession?
(, Fri 22 May 2009, 16:14, archived)
Eh?
You've lost me now.
(, Fri 22 May 2009, 16:15, archived)

(, Fri 22 May 2009, 16:19, archived)
I volunteer to not have to judge this.

(, Fri 22 May 2009, 16:13, archived)
