looks good, but lacks the real natural rythm of rachael and tom, he looks like he's actually trying, perhaps it's his pysique that hinders him, although i must admit his salsa was the best i've ever seen a bloke do on strictly, usually they look far, far to camp.

Well, since it's so darn quiet, here's one of my drawings...
Click for bigger (164KB) I started drawing on sandpaper about 6 or 7 years ago, in an effort to get better textural effects with feathers and fur. This Yellow Naped Amazon parrot was one of my first experiments.
If you're into drawing with pastels or coloured pencils, I implore you to get a hold of some nice fine sandpaper (400 grit or finer - 600 grit is best for me) and get drawing. It's sumptuous!
EDIT: It wouldn't accept the 1600 x 1200 image (over 500K), so this will have to do... I actually don't think the quality is worth a CFB, but see what you think.

Thanks for the hummus!
Not sure how to edit the pic though with a CFB once it's already been posted... I posted a small sized file on the host to keep the size down, and after I read your kind post, when I hit EDIT, I wasn't sure how to delete the current image and replace with a thumbnail with the 'CFB'...

just upload a bigger one
and stick a link in your original thread, use that little edit tab under your image, it's the easiest way to do it.
pic is superb btw, but don't you get through pastels a lot quicker using this technique, and the dust!!!
(god save the queenmaking another unremarkable comeback,
Sun 7 Dec 2008, 11:34,

Yes, you do tend to use a little more pastel
But because most of my work is A4 sized, it's not a huge hardship. I apply the fixative pretty frequently to prevent smudging, but dust does tend to build up if you don't vacuum it up every now and then.
Unfortunately, blowing the pics up to be huge doesn't necessarily look as good, as the whole texture thing tends to get a bit lost in the up-scale.
(ShazzoirOld enough to know better young enough not to care,

hehe.
shame about the bigger one losing definition, but it still looks good, you have a promising career drawing on pavements outside a tube station ahead of you:)

It's just done my a market research company to fill up a newspaper page. You can tell it's not done with any expertise They have James west in there on his work on the electrec mic. They obvioulsy think that makes the list look diverse and intelligent. There are many types of mic. If you compare his contribution to music with someone like Dave Smith who created MIDI it's nothing!
