Researchers at Adelaide university have developed software that allows you to trace objects in a video and turn them into 3D models.
I don't think the software is commercially available yet, but it looks good.
The SUV demo is quite impressive.

Daniel Craig voices the lead in the English version.
The art and animation was incredible, worth watching for that alone, but the story wasn't quite as good. Would be great if they released a collection of stills from the film as artwork though.
