and you're welcome to judge me. It's been amusing this year, kiddo likes it and I think I'm in love with Gino D'Acampo.
What's your guilty TV pleasure? And how the fuck are you?

Hi all you sexy beasts! I'm going to undertake a distance learning masters in education, part time. I was wondering if anyone else on OT has done anything similar and has any advice on how to maximise productivity.

I'm all confused now. The recent release by a hacker/mole/whistleblower of documents produced by the University of East Anglia’s Climate Research Unit (aka CRU) seems to point to a conspiracy (get 'yer tinfoil hats here..) by Climate Change scientists to manipulate and falsify the evidence supporting man-made climate change caused by us producing too much CO2.
Now, given that up until now, I've always supported the cause that we're responsible and we should do something about it, I feel a bit of a twat. So I thought I'd ask some of the sciency types on here for thier opinion.
What the fuck is going on? Has the whole Man Made Global Warming Theory just exploded?
Answers on a postcard please.
Cheers

I've got the websites for all five Scottish ski centres bookmarked, and I'm checking the damn things every few hours to see if there's been much snow lately. I can't wait for them to open so I can get back onto the snow again.
Any other snowsports fans here?

I'm watching the film 21 grams.
I've seen it before but it is good so definitely re-watchable.
Some thoughts on the film:
Naomi Watts is a bit of an overactor but she has nipples like bullets.
If you were the Benicio Del Toro character, what would you have done? I'm thinking I'd have run over a whole bunch of other people and scarpered leaving the truck in a dodgy neighbourhood where cars get nicked all the time.
The CSI people probably couldnt have figured out one blood type or DNA sample from the other as there were so many.
And finally, that English bird was really annoying.

Make up your own question, I'm too cold.

Just a quick one hopefully.
I'm always hearing people saying that you can put chip pan oil/veg oil in diesel cars and it'll run OK, has anyone actually done this?
Seems a shit load cheaper if it does work.

I'm not very happy at my current work, so I've applied for several others.
In the last week I was called for a job interview for a position that I really liked.
Within 4 days I did the human resources interview and technical interview, both on the phone, and was told I had done very well and if I'd like to go to Reading for a face to face interview.
Tickets bought, hotel booked... I just got a call:
They've had re-organize the deparment and change the job specs and my profile is not good enough anymore.

I ate a vanilla cream croissant thing earlier, it was so good that I almost got stuck in a feedback loop of smugness and pastries.
Yet again there isn't anyone within about 10 metres of my desk, so I am stuck basically in silence for a whole working day. The only people who are anywhere near me aren't interesting enough to have a conversation with. This is a poor state of affairs.
Imagine I've asked a question, and then answer it.

Should he have to buy two seats, or should transport companies rethink their designs based on a growing population.
I am, for example, 6' 2" not huge, but tall enough to not fit on bus seats without spreading my legs like a well greased whore. The population is now, I believe, almost 10cm taller than the Romans and if this continues buses will have to be 80' long to fit in the same number of passengers.

My bedrooms are in the attic. As is the bathroom.
I forgot to leave the heating on constant last night, so this morning there's only been about an hour of heat.
I have to go and get a shower but it's frrrreezing.
All the frost looks lovely on the rooftops though.
What's it like where you are?
Or who was the best Pauline Mole - Alison Steadman, Lulu or Julie Walters?

Yay I can now officially act like a silly kid and get all Christmassy. I have a child so I have an excuse. I love Christmas and the food and games and lights and sparkly things and even the awful music! Since having a child of my own I've got the tinge back that I used to get when I was a kid.
So are you a christmas lover or hater? What do you love/hate about it.
Jingle bells batman smells! WooYay

After much chatter about it from all, I finally gave in and created an account. I added a few people...
...and then it suggested as a possible "friend" my ex-wife.
Morbid curiosity struck and I clicked on her page, but as I'm not a "friend" it only displayed a little bit of info. But in that info were various family members of mine that she had as friends, and some of our old friends who I have lost touch with.
I now have a load of odd feelings flooding me- nostalgia, sadness, bitterness, and a deep sense of loss that I thought I had put behind me. It has opened up a few old wounds a bit.
And I'm out of beer. Dammit.

Australia has just swung that little bit further to the right.
Tony Abbott has just been elected leader of the Liberal Party. In a cute political irony, the so-called Liberal Party are anything but. They are the Aussie Tories.
Abbott trained as a Catholic priest but was lured to the Dark Side by the Pussy.
As Health Minister of the Howard Government, the first thing he tried to do was ban abortion.
Fuck off and die Abbott. Abortions ought to be retrospective in your case. Get your rosaries off my ovaries.

This being the land where right wing "christian" fanatics have pretty much taken over, there is BOTH the "Bible" and the "Book of Mormon" available for my pleasurable reading.
What should I write in the books?

I've just dined on carbonara, have planned the rest of the week's eating and am now doing some furtive christmas shopping for the missus while she has a bath.
What are you up to?
Don't pretend you aren't there.
edit: damn rosalicious, making me look shit.

Break your tooth on an apple the night before, wake up at 4am in serious pain, take the bits of tooth you spat out to the dentist as soon as they open, have him glue them back together and take x-rays and pronounce you totally fine. Get home, brush your teeth because you can still taste the horrible mouthwash they use at the surgery, find your tooth and a lot of blood in the sink, march back to the dentists and raise merry hell. Several more x-rays will then determine that you in fact need a root canal that will cost you a lot of money that you don't have, discuss payment plans and the likelyhood of your tooth being stupid again and eventually fuck it off to have it removed and spend the day at work in a happy daze as the lignocaine wears off. Chatting to clients in nursing clinics is fun when you can't feel half your face and you're not entirely sure if you're drooling.
What have you done with your day?
