I mean he actually attacked me like a pit-pull.
I'm used to getting a good mauling now and again and I appreciate he's just playing, he's an indoor cat, he needs an outlet etc etc. He often draws blood, but it's par for the course with some cats.
But this morning, seriously, FTW. Even grabbing the scruff of his neck did not stop him. In the end I had to drag him off, dragging more wounds into my skin as I did so. I am fucking marmalised on my arms and hands.
And the annoying thing is he's been so lovely recently. Sitting on my knee and getting stroked like a proper cat.
So the question is, do I throw him out of the window?

I am thinking of killing the jocular tenor in the "Go compare" advert by choking him with the merkat from the "compare the market" advert. It would be a public service.
I refuse to say it would be simples. I fucking hate adds that bore into your brain and leave a huge cancerous turd behind.
How can I learn to ignore this audio pollution?

the government has stood by its stance of not negotiating with kidnappers or paying ransoms. Do you think this is right, or do you have a more creative way of resolving the situation?

Last night I watched Withnail and I all tucked up in bed and eating
Green and Blacks white chocolate. I felt like the Queen of Sheba.
When was the last time you did something decadant?

But I lost my bus pass on the way to work and when I got there I found the program I'd set running over the weekend fell over at 4 o'clock Saturday morning. I figure the universe has left it a bit late in the day to try and make up for it. Maybe tomorrow.
Did anything nice happen to you today?

advice and sophisticated ideas, I am asking for your help.
I'm sitting in an airport getting drunk on free whisky but I have to meet my contractor who is a straight laced woman from Nebraska (kind of intense, the type you exoect to lose it and start shooting students from a university tower) about a presentation I have to give tomorrow.
Should I keep drinking and throw up on her or stop drinking, eat a FUCK LOAD of pepermint gum and try to act like I'M a sober and good HUMAN?

It's a show on MTV here, 4 guys driving across America checking off a list of 100 things to do before they die. Each time they mark off something on their list they try to help a stranger mark something off on their own.
Last week they helped a man get in touch with his son that he hasn't seen in 17 years.
My best friend has never met her father. She has always wanted to talk to him, to meet him. We've searched online before, talked about it for years. I didn't set out to find his phone number today...but I did. It was in our customer list in my work computer. It just happened to have been there when I searched for someone else. It had been there the whole time.
It may not have been something I thought about everyday, or something specifically on my list. But it was on hers.
What do you want to do before you die?

go here www.brits.co.uk/mybrits
and register, and vote for Mick Fleetwood and Samanthat Fox as the best Brits presenters ever.
It will be ace if they win. Come on, it will, won't it?

but I'm so glad I persevered. It was delish.

What are you glad you stuck with?

There's a chance that I'll have a lot more free time on my hands in a couple of weeks, so I'm looking for stuff to keep me occupied should the worst happen. If it doesn't, then it's handy to have to watch on my commute each day, so don't hold back.
In recent months I've done True blood, Glee, 24 and I've just finished season one of Mad men. I'm thinking I should start the Wire after Mad men, but what else is out there that I should have sampled like a fine wine by now?

alloys more than any living thing?
They are so shiny!
Yes they were expensive, yes I could have got some cheaper ones that weren't soooo shiny but fuck it!
What have you spent stupid amounts of money on recently that you could have probably got a cheaper version of and it would have been ok?

as a mature student. Has anyone done this? I'm 43 btw, will I feel a total old cunt? And are many students really that irritating, or is it just my age?

Seems about that time of year when all of us have got enough on our plates and then some. Rather than detail what's going wrong with life right now, I'd rather start a thread saying what's going right with it.
I'm healthy
I have a job that I love
I have friends and family who love me
I have a roof over my head and heating that works
I have a sleeping cat on my lap who is guaranteed to wake up and demand belly rubs as soon as I move.
Your turn

Well, it's Monday again, and I'm still recovering from the weekend!
I was out for a mates birthday on Saturday, and decided it would be a good idea to order a double strength Long Island Iced Tea towards the end of the night. It came in a pint glass, and got me rather drunk.
I spent yesterday with no energy whatsoever, and sadly that still hasn't changed today!
How was your weekend?

I feel like shit and I think I may have made a lewd gesture at the young barman when he accidently flashed his belly.
It's a lovely day and I feel too shitty to go out.

On the mac you can get something called istat pro.
What this does is tell you exactly how hot things are running, how much of the processor is being used and what by, that kind of thing.
Is there anything similar for windows?
Thanks.

I've not seen anyone I know that wasn't just for work for a week, now, except for my stupid ex-husband. Also, I have an awesome new coat, and he's the only one who's noticed it :(

And that means that once again I'll be house-bound with a load of kids (though in truth most of them are over 20).
Guess it's time to start cooking chili...
