As this appears to be one of "those" threads, here is a photo of my first attempt to paint something with oils... This is just an experiment for now :D
It's a bit odd having spent so much time with acrylics to change to oils.. Base colour is being put in, I'll do the detail and fine work after it's dryed a bit!

I'd love to get an eight foot canvas and do the full thing. Problem is, where the hell can you fit an 8ft canvas, and I'd probably need a mortgage to cover the cost of the paint, brushes and canvas...

If I did it, it would have to be a perfect match for the original - namely one whole canvas
Although the original was just a photo that was painted over in areas and varnished to look like a painting.
