For the inevitable point at which ImageSpack borks, here is the plan in lovely lovely text format:
B3TA HUDDERSFIELD
----
WHEN?
Saturday 25th February- 2pm
----
WHERE?
Head of Steam pub.. conveniently part of the train station itself.
Later on an undecided bar, but USB or Verve seem good.
----
HOW? (Since noone seems to have even heard of this mythical place)
From Manchester M62:
Junction 24 (A629)
From Hull M62:
Junction 25 (A644 to Dewsbury, but right at the next round about (A62)
From the South
Junction 35A off the M1 (A616 Manchester) then the A629 to the comically named Penistone and onward to the lovely Hudds
Station is sign-posted, just go on the ring road and everyone is happy... Huddersfield has a billion places to park (including the station long stay, which is beyond the short stay)
----
WHERE CAN I DIE AFTERWARDS?
HUDDS:
Two Premier Travel Inns, both about £48 a night. There's a bunch of others kicking around too.
FOR FLOORSPACE, CHECK THE THREAD CLOSE TO THE TOP OF THE PAGE WRITTEN IN BOLD.
---
IT HAS BEEN MADE A LAW THAT ALL ATTENDEES MUST WEAR A PERSONALISED HAT WITH USERNAME/REAL NAME FOR EASY REMEMBERANCENESSNESS... there will be a boozy prize for the most lavish (aka. a pint)
Head Of Steam Pub [map]
The First Huddersfield Bash!
Going: MCQ, mns, in vino veritas, Curis, TopUpTheTea, M3Essential, thirsty, Mushroom, The Mock TurtIe, bilbobarneybobs, ImNotRightBotheredMe, CaroWallis, Malchick, Naughty Tortoise, ogwen69, NewArtRiot, Rhubarb_Triangle, Dirty Bob, asparagus time, grey kid, feek, lazygamer, Druid, mcdoof, crazyjude, The Great Architect, pierced_babe, WebmasterFF, Cunting for Agatha (29 people).
Okay everyone! I wanna make sure we don't end up with some sort of awful mess when it comes to people crashing, and finding they have nowhere to stop over.
I have places at mine (2 on the couch in the lounge and floor space. If you are wanting a place, mention in this thread! If you are wanting to sleep in comfort with covers and such, I am happy to sort out dropping-off-of-stuff at mine before the bash begins, but I don't have any stuff spare at mine. My MSN is [email protected]... tell me on there. OR MOBILE NUMBER IS 07967 412675
ALL MY FLATMATES ARE AWAY THIS DAY! WOOTAH! So lots of floorspace.. 8 to a big minibus taxi, 4 to a car to get to mine.
CURRENTLY:
TopUpTheTea
ImNotRightBotheredMe
crazyjude
piston_broke
grey_kid
Malchick
Druid
If anyone else can offer crash places, ie. those who live locally, can you pop what you can offer down in this thread too... there is another thread further down covering those staying with ImNotRightBotheredMe.
Cheers,
Sean

baggsy one of those spaces. I'm very good at sleeping in uncomfortable spaces (I have never slept in the back of a Volkswagen though).
( , Thu 15 Dec 2005, 14:57, Reply)
awesome to the max.
EDIT: IT LOOKS LIKE I CAN'T MAKE IT. THIS MAY CHANGE THOUGH. But I can't say for definite, so I'm relinquishing my space on your floor
( , Fri 16 Dec 2005, 20:20, Reply)
i would be humbled to take a place on your floor - or anywhere more comfy if it's free.
cheers sweety

And I really really hate to do this... but family problems and lack of cash mean that I can't make it. You have no idea how bloody gutted I am. Next time eh?
( , Fri 24 Feb 2006, 16:32, Reply)
given the apparently pre-success of this, we should be doing another sometime soon!
come to leeds anyway matey, see ya there.

It would have been the perfect way to round off my birthday- but such is life. I may arrange a Sheffield one once my finances have recovered, maybe around May time to allow for people to arrange things. In fact... how does a May Sheffield bash starting off in The Howard sound?
::EDIT::
Have planned it now... mainly as my consolation for missing this bout of loveliness. Here is the link.

As it is easier for the travelling. Sorry imnotrightbotheredme, but Hudds is a helluva lot nearer from Barnsley... by the way, topupthetea, how are you getting to the bash? I live basically right on the train route between Lincoln and Huddersfield.
( , Sat 11 Feb 2006, 2:02, Reply)
i'm retford area but am normally taxi bitch.
( , Sat 11 Feb 2006, 21:01, Reply)

Late notice but I might be able to come... any space for a little one?
And I can offer lifts as per usual from the Birmingham area!
EDIT:GRRR!! Sodding work! It now appears I will be unable to attend, sorry chaps :(
( , Tue 21 Feb 2006, 6:29, Reply)
If I join in & enough people want floor space, I may kick out the small child & the Mr to create some, & there will be enough space for many. But it would involve travel from Hudds to Keighley probably by taxi & I know not the cost of this.
*ponders*
( , Mon 5 Dec 2005, 21:50, Reply)
is approximately £35
( , Tue 6 Dec 2005, 2:14, Reply)
And don't mind the cost of transport. As mentioned on /talk I can't say for certain I can come but it's most likely I can.
Oh and I'm a good drunk, I'm all hippy happy and when sick always finish off before getting home, perfick

Seeing as I actually live here I'll make a concerted effort to attend (it's 2 weeks after my birthday - woo!)
*edit* Is there any chance of rescheduling to the week after as it's actually the weekend of my better half's birthday and we're prolly doing something? Please? I'd really like to meet you guys! *is concerned at sounding stupid*
( , Tue 6 Dec 2005, 8:43, Reply)

( , Wed 7 Dec 2005, 23:29, Reply)
Just saying that it would be vaguely feasable if I drove (from Lincoln, liftees).
I don't know what I'm doing around then, so I'll let you know nearer the time.

As...
1. I live in sunny Sheffield
2. Tis two days after my 23rd (on the 23rd... hint hint bloody hint)
All I need is crash space- any other Sheffielders planning on going?
Also... directions from the train station to wherever the ale house is would be a help.
( , Sun 11 Dec 2005, 18:35, Reply)
as the flyer quite rightly points out :P
A number of people who went to the Sheff bash are going, so i'm guessing a few of them might live in the lovely city.
( , Mon 12 Dec 2005, 1:44, Reply)
but I've no idea where I'm going either. I shall see what Google Maps can provide...
( , Mon 12 Dec 2005, 16:13, Reply)
and you actually walk past one entrance to the pub on the way out of the station.
( , Mon 12 Dec 2005, 20:05, Reply)
if you get the penistone line train to Huddersfield (the one that stops at dodworth, barnsley, wombwell and all those lovely places), it terminates on platform 2 of Huddersfield station - you just walk down the platform in the only direction that you can, and an entrance to the head of steam is on your right - can't miss it!

( , Thu 15 Dec 2005, 4:21, Reply)
Hoo Har bash tastic.
See you there (heading over from Bradford on the choo choo if anyone else is).
Hudds Uni was my stomping ground for 4 years and the head of steam one of my regular haunts, so should be a good trip down memory lane.
*Bash Cherry goes popop!*
( , Thu 15 Dec 2005, 13:18, Reply)
Seeing as i live up the road and Huddersfield Uni was my old stomping ground i'm damn sure i can haul myself along for some booze!
( , Sun 18 Dec 2005, 13:35, Reply)
I am getting confused about who is coming to mine & the arrangements, so let's clarify.
Anyone coming is welcome to come to mine on Sat morning/noonish & drop off stuff. Then train to Hudds. I will be cooking a gigantic lasagne & home made garlic bread for munchies on our return (which will probably be by taxi), and will have vodka and kahlua in stock too, please feel free to bring more booze/fags/drugs/food. Yay me.
I have: Double bed, single blow up mattress with sleeping bag, 1 sofa (will fit 2 if sleeping semi upright) and floor space enough for loads.
Bring towel if you would like shower. Otherwise, go home smelling of poo.
I live 3 mins round the corner from Steeton & Silsden railway station fyi.
Please reply if you're coming, & bagsy a specific spot if you want one!
( , Thu 15 Dec 2005, 20:55, Reply)
Bacon, eggs, sausage, fried bread, eggy bread, tomatoes, black pudding, beans, english muffins, egg & bacon mush, crumpets & millions of cups of tea!
( , Thu 15 Dec 2005, 21:22, Reply)
and i've just realised what 'black pudding' could also mean
( , Thu 15 Dec 2005, 21:22, Reply)
Due to unforseen splitting up with partner type situations, I am not sure of the amount of beds any more, or if it will be in the original house as planned, but wherever I am, there is crashing space.
( , Fri 23 Dec 2005, 1:56, Reply)
And would love to bagsy a spot.
What inhalables should I bring? The green kind? I have an air bed of my own so I am good on the floor. Also, will be two days after my birthday, so...
HINT BLOODY HINT
( , Sat 24 Dec 2005, 19:16, Reply)
White stuff? Anything you like, alls I have in stock is Vicks Sinex.
Please bring your air bed & anything else you require for sleeping. Do not expect special treatment for birthdayness.
( , Wed 28 Dec 2005, 23:44, Reply)
bagsied the bed, although depending on where I am living, this may actually be a blow up bed not an actual bed, and also depending on where I am living, there may or may not be a sofa.
I will update you nearer the time, but current advice is to come to mine with lots of comfy things pre-bash & train it to Hudds with me, that way you will be guranteed somr sort of warmth & softness!
( , Thu 29 Dec 2005, 23:09, Reply)
Cheers for that, now I just have to arrange stuff with you guys- I will bring much beer, and weed if I can get it. Trouble is I am shit at rolling though...
If you want to arrange things via email, you can get me on jamesalancarter at gmail dot com.
Sounds fair enough coming to yours first, which town do you live in btw? I'm in Barnsley at the mo.
( , Fri 30 Dec 2005, 17:28, Reply)
I might come to that, even though this is my first post on b3ta in around a year and a half. I live on firth street so im about 5 mins away from the train station. No where for anyone to crash though.
Woo for apathy.
( , Sat 17 Dec 2005, 18:23, Reply)

I don't suppose we can figure out transport arrangements now?
Need to figure out how to get to Keighley...
Failing that as I live in Barnsley I can always get royally trollied and catch the last train home.
::EDIT::
That's a point, who else is in Barnsley and the surrounds, i.e. Sheffield, Rotherham? Perhaps we could travel up together to minimize transport costs. All who wish to do this msn me at [email protected].
( , Mon 23 Jan 2006, 17:54, Reply)
is a taxi minibus I believe. The cost shouldn't be much more than a fiver each.
( , Tue 24 Jan 2006, 16:33, Reply)
& drop their stuff off, then train it into Hudds with me.
The plan for getting back is indeed taxi/minibus.
I don't yet know where I'll be living for you to have directions, but will update in a week or so!
( , Sun 29 Jan 2006, 14:57, Reply)
I shall be living in Sutton in Craven, your nearest train station is still Steeton & Silsden.
Anyone who needs driving directions email - bouncy 32 at hotmail etc.
( , Mon 6 Feb 2006, 16:31, Reply)
I'm guessing I will be heading through Leeds and then from there to Steeton. Right then, plans have been made... I will be getting the train which arrives at 24 minutes past the hour, so I will either turn up at around 11:24 or 12:24, depending on when I haul my arse out of bed. In the meantime, I will begin to stockpile beer. I will put in for weed if people bring any. Right... I suppose I'd better get practising for this piss-up... **cracks open a beer**.
( , Tue 7 Feb 2006, 21:00, Reply)
I've said I'll come, but don't hold yer breath people, I have to fit all such things around my kid arrangements...
( , Mon 23 Jan 2006, 2:09, Reply)
i'll be there for about 6 (work saturday's, but i'm only 10 minutes from holbeck :D)
( , Mon 30 Jan 2006, 17:04, Reply)
in fact i might just come up from leics just for it anyway. if anyone could put me up i'd be happy. i always have weed if thats a winner...
if not i'll be driving back to doncaster.
also means i anyone wants a lift from midlands up i can one way them...
( , Sun 5 Feb 2006, 17:33, Reply)

( , Wed 8 Feb 2006, 1:40, Reply)
and at a 4.5 hour drive up there, it better be worth it :-)
( , Wed 8 Feb 2006, 19:03, Reply)
who is actually coming to mine? If there's not loads of you, a 40 min taxi ride wont be economical & we might as well stay at MCQs (if he'll have us).
*bums*
EDIT: SINCE NOBODY APPEARS TO BE COMING, I AM NOW CRASHING AT SEAN'S. FUDGE YOU ALL IN THE EARHOLES.
