car update
to all the kind b3tans who offered me lots of advice about my broken wheels the other day.

I took it back to the garage this morning. The mechanic took one look at the popped tyre, sucked air in through his teeth, and promised to get straight on it.

They admitted full liability, fixed it, washed it, valeted it, dropped it off, and forgot all about the invoice.

Result!

Sim card help please
Does anyone know if my bt mobile sim card would work in a blackberry that's on vodafone? I might be getting one next month and I'd rather not fuck about with it if it's not necessary.

HTML knowledge required
Would any talented html monkey out there have an easy cross-browser CSS solution for pull-quotes? I'm having a mare trying to sort it!

Alternatively, feel free to point, laugh and insult me.

Puscifer
Maynard James Keenan (from Tool)'s new band/clothing label.

I've got the album. The song Momma Sed has roused in me a new musical obsession.

Anyone else heard the album? What are your thoughts?

Just thought I'd share
Went to see Joshua Radin last night in Liverpool, was a really good gig and very chilled, I'd recommend going to see him if you like a bit of acoustic singer songwriter stuff!

My TV
I don't know if this applies to flat panel tellies, but you know how when you switch off the TV and it cools down making little clicks and cracks to itself?

Mine doesn't, it saves them all up and then makes a noise like the cabinet's about to give way, scaring the bejeesus out of me at fucking 1:30am.

Hey Legless
Please can you post another pic for a caption compo?

I missed the bus every morning for a week because my missus hid my alarm clock and fellated me awake. It does wake you up. However, it takes a while to be fully awake. Plus the urge to go "oh shit! Look at the time" kinda goes out the window.

Blah Blah Blah? The song? The one that was done on a Casio keyboard?

I went to the doctor today
and got to see my (very alive) baby - it has only existed for 11 weeks so far, yet the little bastard* was spinning about, jumping up and down, waving its arms and legs around like an epileptic in a minefield. Most bizarre.
Anyone else had a good day?

*it will actually be a bastard when born, so I feel fully justified in calling it this. my mother is horrified.

Let's have a discussion thread on religion then...
Inspired by what this jumped up little kiddy fiddling Nazi cunt has been saying

In my book that's effectively genocide, given how many people in Africa subscribe to, and trust, his religion. Someone should sue the fucker on behalf of the millions of people he's helped kill. Give him a few years and he'll be rivalling his old hero Adolf.

Any Catholics here? Be interested to hear how people can justify belonging to such an organisation in light of remarks such as this.

Minimum alcohol prices
So, there's rumblings that the Chief Medical Monkey wants to impose a minimum price of 50p per unit of alcohol.

I think that's a mountain of platypus spunk, personally.

What would YOU do to stop the country turning into a blathering puke-covered hangover?

I think I should have been born in the 80's
because then I would remember all these songs when they came out - instead of hearing them and realising I love them 10 - 15 years after they came out.

I found another band today. Fatboy Slim. And apparently he's been behind loads of other bands too. *happies* I love discovering new stuff :D

if you laugh at me - I will get you back one day

Well, in an hour and 20 minutes
it's the time of year that all Americans become of Irish descent, regardless of their heritage and the fact they're the 8th born generation in the States and their surname is Rodriguez.

On top of that, SoCal has been shaking with minor tremblors for 14 days straight - oooooh, time for the big one.

So, what did you all do for dinner tonight? I had crappy fish and chips.

Pubic service poncement...
After 'doing the air' on the old mans tyres earlier today, we arrived home. Smoking a cigarette I was casually looking at one of the tyres that had always had a look of being under inflated. When I noticed a bulge... oh poo, thought I, a new tyre will be needed, pulling off the plastic wheel disc, I discover the rim is very dented, the cause of the bulge a 3 inch long gash deep into the side wall above the wheel dent.

A quick oh buggery, thats 25 quid for a new tyre conversation, and so I grab the instruments to swap the wheel with the new spare.

I touched the nuts, they were all less than finger tight... significantly less than finger tight, a tightness that I suspect the plastic wheel trims would have played a part in their final unwindings...

So in brief, if you've jsut bought a car, please go and check the wheel nuts, as we'd just been doing 80 on a dual carriage way, with a faulty tyre held on with hope.

Bazmorningstar kinda woke me up...
with regards to teh music ting.
IMHO you just cannot beat LIVE music.
through a combination of work and fun i have enjoyed and endured literally thousands of gigs since the late 80's.
which brings me to my point...
three things have taken my attention this evening.
Firstly: Kristin Hersh (throwing muses/50ft wave etc) is in the UK this spring (also check out All Tomorrow's Parties with The Breeders).
Secondly: Nick Harper www.harperspace.com is touring. He is (don't hold it against him! son of Roy Harper) my personal TOP bet for money well spent on a gig. seen him a number of times, good venues and bad. have never been let-down. all that sound, fury and exquisite technique etc...
3rdly: and maybe most retrofreaky? st etienne are performing "fox base alpha" in glasgow wed 13th may!

discuss if you will!
