Bollocks
Ten of us and we followed the instructions to the letter and not one of us is anyway stuck.

Friday night, eh?
Why the hell are you sat here in front of the computer and not socialising with humans?

My excuse? Shit... I haven't got one. You should listen to Rory McLeod.

I've had too much coffee
It's almost as bad as the time I had too much Red Bull.
I'm shaking and I have a feeling of impending doom. I have to be normal and chipper as I have a friend coming to stay.

What will calm me down and allay my feeling of doom?
or
What are you all up to this evening?

So, would you?
How'd you do it?

So I'm now trying to bore this baby out
by watching daytime TV, but it's only making my brain melt.
Why is daytime TV so unutterably dreary? Although it's not much better in the evenings, to be honest.

I'm just wondering what else I can do with my day that doesn't involve moving or thinking.

In other news, I saw two rats by the river yesterday, which was hugely exciting. One ran over my foot! Anyone got more interesting vermin/water related stories than that?

Police shooting
news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/london/8262629.stm

I remember this very well, mainlt because the chap that got shot was originally from our little market town. What confuses me is the following:

"A statement issued by Elizabeth Saunders' solicitor said: "Elizabeth now awaits the inquest which will consider in public why it was necessary for police officers to shoot her husband. "

Could the answer be because he was armed with a shotgun, he was taking potshots at people walking past, the houses across the road and at police officers?

Just wondering.

Off to ireland next week without my laptop.
What drugs/drinks/foods/etc will allow me to make it through 10 days without this stupid web site that I find myself increasingly drawn to? maybe after 10 days without access to a computer I'll be able to break free.

With my daughter almost certainly coming to live with me full-time
sometime soon, I'm looking to make some big changes - namely getting a proper well-paying satisfying job, maybe a car, and a proper house instead of the one-person annexe I live in currently. It's all excitements!

As I'll have to get all the little things that complete a home, my question is: what household gizmos or bits of kit could you not live without?

Yay! The vet just called
and Stealth is a little groggy, but is stitched up and I can pick him up in 4 hours :)
I do feel bad that I didn't see his injury when I looked, but the vet said because of the location of the wound and the length of the cats hair, it's easy to miss. Which makes me feel a little better.

What is the worst cliché of them all?
For me, it's "emotional rollercoaster" (edit: I hate it because it is overused and fucking lazy)

As QOTWats, we experience a lot. Tell me your most hated expression.

This morning so far I have consumed:
2 bacon and egg sandwiches. 4 rashers and 2 eggs on each.

A Donner Kebab pot noodle and

a peperoni hot.

What has made you feel like a fat bastard recently?

Regrets, I've had a few
This morning on the way to work I outrageously cut up one of those mini street sweepers. However, press of traffic meant that I then had him sat directly behind me glaring for the next 10 minutes. By the end I almost felt guilty.

Do you have anything hanging around that reminds you of a mistake? Bonus points if they've recently moved in with you.

STUPID stupid cat!
So I'm laid on my couch watching TV, when Stealth jumps on me. This, in turn, made me jump as I wasn't expecting it, so he got spooked and RAN RIGHT THROUGH THE FUCKING WINDOW smashing glass everywhere.
I got him back inside, and he's ok, just a little shook up. Silly little bugger.

Hopefully nobody breaks through the cardboard and rapes me tonight.

Edit for update: The silly little bugger was cut after all on his neck, so I hauled ass down to the emergency animal hospital. He's gonna be ok, they're stitching him up and keeping him in overnight for observation.

Even more woo!
The other night while perusing Craigslist I found someone trying to get rid of a gas-fired kiln for free. Upon talking to her, it turns out she also has a potter's wheel she wants to be rid of.

My daughter got into pottery a couple of years ago and has wanted to get back into it ever since.

So I will get Richard and his truck to follow me in my Amigo to her house, load up a bunch of equipment, unload it here and then go help Richard dig footings for his new deck in repayment. I will set up the wheel on the brick patio out back, and the wheel out on the lawn where the splattered clay doesn't matter. The fact that it's a gas fired kiln means no wiring- just grab the tank from my gas grill and crank it up.

Now my daughter and I can work on projects in the back yard at the same time. And when she's not using it I can use it to melt and fuse glass into art pieces myself.

Woo indeed!

Awesome!
I feel very bad for my friend, but she cut her eyeball yesterday in a freak accident. She has to wear a patch, and Saturday is International Talk Like A Pirate day. So do I totally take the piss? (she is ok, btw)

My collection is now complete
As some of you know, I play guitar as one half (only numerically speaking, talent-wise I'm about one eighth) of the Belmers*. I also collect unusual guitars.
I've just scored an Ovation double-neck for a paltry sum! All I'll have to do with it is restring, clean and touch up a couple of marks and it'll be fandabbidozy. I'm feeling smug.

How's you lot?

*Laziest least-talented band in Christendom.

I've got some good news, and some bad news.
The bad news, my insides are messed up again and I might need to be cut open again.
The good news, Britain's Best Dish is on the telly, and i'm happy for you, i'm gonna let you finish, but Britain's Best Dish is the greatest reality-telivision show of ALL TIME.

YIKES!
Take a look at this guy. I don't think even Brian Blessed would sport a grin like that.

No offense, George, but you look like you're about to dine on fresh kittens. You might want to ease off on the caffeine a little...
