Lost and found
I lost my ipod back in June, 80gb nearly full. I lost it about the same time the pc itunes was on died and couldn't be fixed. I was just about resigned to the fact I would have to shell out a significant chunk of my savings to repopulate my new itunes and phone as I have no clue about illegal downloading. When this morning my old man rings me asking if I had left him a 'gadget dooda' in his car. The plucky old bastard found my ipod. What have you lost and found?

Alt Q: what have you lost and never found?

Morning offtopic.
I know I moaned a lot about losing my cat Rupert last week. House felt really weird without a kitty, so I went out and adopted one from the shelter.

Everyone, meet Henry.

Just persuaded my work colleagues we should eat at Tayyabs tomorrow night, assuming I can book a table. Work are paying too.

What's cheered you up today?

edit: bloody double posting phone...

Not only that, but there are moves afoot in Scotland to stop homeopathy from being available on the NHS. Who agrees and disagrees?

Alt Q- if you could be any liqueur, which one would it be?

I bagsy Galliano.

Looks like I have got a charity place in the London marathon. Oh crap.
I am 37, 2 stone overweight, smoke 30 a day & drink about 60 units of booze a week. What incredibly stupid things have you signed up to before?

Alt: How old are you physically & mentally?

I think we have categorically determined summer to be over in the thread below.
So what were your highlights? What's the best thing you did this summer?

Alt Q: What didn't you get to do that is normally a given for the summer.
(, Mon 13 Sep 2010, 14:42, 186 replies, latest was 15 years ago)
alright cunts? did you miss me?
summer seems to be disappearing rather quickly and I am most displeased

however, with summer leaving, autumn brings about halloween--my favorite holiday AND 90Nz0s birthday!
also, it brings about my roommates birthday bash, this years theme is Pimps and Hoes, I am well excited.

So, what are you looking forward to this fall??
Answers including Christmas will result in the stabbing of your nan

Alt Q: What is the greatest of all the chocolate bars?

EDIT: It is now raining.

Important Question
I need you to name my pet tree.
(, Mon 13 Sep 2010, 12:03, 61 replies, latest was 15 years ago)
Damn that porkylips fellow for posting a similar question to one I've been pondering
But you all seem to have short attention spans...Charlie brooker in this morning's guardian tried an experiment where he disconnected himself from the net and found his productivity had no bounds. I've been without proper net acces for almost 2 months now and have managed to complete almost 50% of my coursework, whereas the first half took five months and will most likely need more work done on it before it can be submitted. Do you find you get more done if you're not using the net, or do you have enough self control that you can get your work done and procrastinate at the same time?

Alt Q1: my broadband is due to be activated tomorrow, what are the chances of that happening since I now have a working phone line and a router that arrived on saturday?

Alt Q2: what's for lunch?

Nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnghhhhhhhh.
HAving awoken with a hangover of epic proportions, and not wanting to risk driving to work, I thought I'd work from home today. Excellent fucking plan; I can ply myself with coffee and not be increasingly pissed off by the sound of inane chatter coming at me from all directions by colleagues who have got fuck all to do thanks the Goovmint stripping their departments of their responsibilities.

So I logged onto my emails, sent a message to work that I'd be working from home, had a shower, and came back to the computer to find my session had been timed out and now I can't get back in again to retrieve the documents I was going to work on. It's change password day, and I can only do this from the office...

Do I 'fess up, and take the day off, or pretend I've been working anyway? What would YOU do, dear b3tan?

Alt Q: Johnny Weismuller or Ron Ely?
(, Mon 13 Sep 2010, 11:26, 9 replies, latest was 15 years ago)
Hello people.
I've noticed a lot of people on here suffer from Butterfly Mind Syndrome (as my teacher kindly called it) and have the attention span of an art student. So
What shiny has distracted you lately?

Alt Q: What? Oh. Er, if you could be a disease what would you be and why?
(, Mon 13 Sep 2010, 10:10, 184 replies, latest was 15 years ago)
My brother just came in here and woke me up
I don't get up til midday usually. So I hit him and said no wonder his missus dumped him (his girlfriend of two years chucked him yesterday). I feel bad now. Has a lack of sleep ever caused you to do owt daft?

Alt Q: How are you this horrible Monday morning, you massive hat-stand?
(, Mon 13 Sep 2010, 7:54, 122 replies, latest was 15 years ago)
So did you have a nice weekend?
Do owt fun? Burn any books?

My god Sunday nights are dull.

Hoot ! This little fellow . . .
was caught in our backyard yesterday, sitting on the outdoor umbrella:

Owl" /

It took a number of attempts to capture this photo . . . I think he started posing by the end!

Superstitions about owls run rife in the ol'country (Greece), so much so my Dad wouldn't look at this photo. They apparently herald death. Legless objects, as up in the Northern part of Europe, they seem to be lucky . . . ?

What suprising things have you discovered in your backyard?
Alt Q: How do you feel about owls? Lucky? Creepy? Indifferent?

'ello OT
I'm stuck in on a Sunday catching up on my assignments. It's pretty tough work - but I'm getting through it. My girlfriend doesn't get back till tomorrow and I realy, seriously need to get this done before then as the deadline is tomorrow and there's no chance in hell I'll get much done tomorrow evening. And yet I'm still procrastinating on the internets...

So OT: What are you putting off that really needs doing?
(, Sun 12 Sep 2010, 10:28, 7 replies, latest was 15 years ago)

No one is here but I've been out in the garden with Google sky (which was free! Yeah I'm not stupid enough to pay what 6 quid? For an app that does the same thing but isn't free) and I can see Jupiter and uranus. Apparently as a pisces this means I should take more risks and believe in the impossible.
So I've bet on vettle not crashing into anyone tomorrow and yamamoto winning.

pft
It's Saturday morning and the below makes me feel like I should be writing an essay or something. I'm in bed still watching time team till the f1 comes on.
How you doin'?
(, Sat 11 Sep 2010, 11:42, 136 replies, latest was 15 years ago)
I'm gonna regret this...
But why the mix of finger-pointing, outrage and hilarity?

Suppose A sleeps with B. Assuming it was consensual, why on Earth is it important that they're closely related?

And, no: I don't have a sister.
