What did you go without as a child?
Poor Rishi Sunak. Sounds like a tough upbringing, not having Sky TV. I weep for him and his lack of understanding of reality for most people.

If you're stood at the back
all you can do is push your kids two steps forward so they start closer to the finish line.
I do note that even after his speech, none of the kids at the front ran any slower, because they were racing all the other kids at the front...

Everyone still wants to win $100
I'd love to see what happened afterwards though. Did the kid who won get it? Did he share his winnings with those at the back? Did it change any of their lives? Did he invest it in 3 months of Sky TV?

Everyone wanting the prize is the problem we can never fix
They see it like you can have everything you ever wanted, or give it to someone else.
And, of course, when the kids at the back put their kids two steps forward, the kids at the front have put their kids four steps forward...

But that's because I grew up in an era where football on telly was free until the cunts sold it to some Australian prick and my dad refused to pay up.

Totally!
Saturday afternoons in front of Grandstand watching every sport imaginable (rally cross in Mini Coopers with Murray Walker going loopy as they crashed), including football, rugby, and everything else that ended up on Sky.
Though I lived in a cardboard box in the road and couldn't get Sky, due to the dish being too big and toppling the box over. Hard times.

I think we're all missing the clear takeaway from this, close down sky sports and return all sport to free to air telly thus freeing up the cash that would have been spent on subscriptions for other uses thus helping struggling families.
Creates jobs at the other broadcasters but we're not heartless, a free package of day old sporting highlights* will still be available on Sky.

Number of state funded pupils = 7.25 million
The additional 40,000 pupils is about a 0.5% increase in numbers.
The average class size is 26.6/22.4 (primary/secondary) so class sizes will increase by 0.133/0.12 pupils!
WON'T SOMEONE THINK OF THE CHILDREN!!!

I find it bizarre that cynical nihilists like the MAGA Republicans worship Reagan.
Reagan was a demented racist arsehole but was something of an intellectual racist arsehole before his mental decline. He held court with Dick Cavett and Bill Buckley, and he had civilised debates with his political rivals. He would not have suffered fools like Trump or MTG.
