That Patrick Stewart / James Corden thing
I'd heard about this but never seen it until now. My God, what a buttock-clenchingly embarrassing display from both of the twats. Have to say Picard comes out looking the biggest cock though. And that's saying something next to James Corden. Does anybody know what was really behind this?

Dunno how many of you have ripped off by Odeon in recent months (£10 per ticket at my local) you might have felt mollified by the presence of this interviewer at the top of his game giving Liam Neeson the once over. How annoying.
I think this kind of thing would be really good late night in between shows.
I'm beginning to realise that for anyone who wants to make a success in any realm of the entertainment world, your trial is not whether your work is good or bad; rather more simply, whether enough people 'like it.'
And what a shit measure of talent people are. They don't know what they like. You have to take risks and introduce it to them for the most part.

Just been watching a thing about Channel four being 30 years olsd
Up until about 10 years ago this is EXACTLY the kind of thing they would have shown on a friday or saturday night.
I think the internet has driven TV to be MORE bland and 'all things to everyone' because if you have niche tastes, then there's the internet.
TV can't afford to show niche, difficult stuff anymore.

Good point.
I guess the internet is a double edged sword. Whilst it's fantastic people like Ben Wheatley have been able to found a career from it, the downside is it has now become an incredibly saturated market. A market where it isn't about whether your work is 'good' or how hard you've worked on it, it is literally about appealing to enough people. Which is a shame, because of that people like SGB just won't get the success they deserve.
I'm also part of the problem in that sense being that I display my shite on the 'net too.
Gone are the days when a TV boss will take a risk on an act they've seen on stage at some murky venue. It is now trial by popularity.

It's actually even
weirder than that. A few years ago the BBC asked me to pitch ideas to them for short comedy things they could put on their website. Guy said SGB would be perfect, but the problem was it already had a following and they wanted completely new stuff.
And then you pitch new stuff and they go "Hmmm, but how can we be sure people will like it?"
I'm just happy YouTube is there so it's not necessary to jump through hoops of flaming bullshit.

The BBC is a public body and is held to tighter scrutiny than other media companies.
They were Saviles main employer and cancelled an expose that would have brought these claims to light.
It seemed to be common knowledge that Jimmy shouldn't be let near kids, so much so that he was banned from comic relief.
Did they suspect him when they were putting him on the telly working with kids?
I quite liked the great British bakeoff though so they're not all bad.

Indeed, the BBC is a public body
But there should be just as much coverage, as just as rigorous investigations into his activities at Broadmoor, Stoke Mandeville, and other places too. The BBC is an easy target, and it seems to be in the interests of the media, and the government, to make them the 'worst' offender in all this.
He was put in charge of Broadmoor, by Edwina Currie, and given the right to overrule doctors and nurses! I've only heard this on Channel Four news. I've not seen it on any other news or seen it in the papers.

They really should give this sort of shite a totally different genre
This is what dubstep used to sound like, and skrillex's brand of shite has put me right off it this year:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=5mOIXdC4rgA
I know its just a tag, a name, a genre, but 'dubstep' is a joke now.

Yes, correct
I was very surprised when somebody first played me dubstep - I was expecting something more like this:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=mCafxek-HDM
but I guess that's just 'dub' without the 'step'.
I was also confused when the term RnB started appearing everywhere recently. I always thought it stood for Rhythm and Blues....

:D wikifriend.
The term has subsequently had a number of shifts in meaning. In the early 1950s, the term rhythm and blues was frequently applied to blues records. Starting in the mid-1950s, after this style of music contributed to the development of rock and roll, the term "R&B" became used to refer to music styles that developed from and incorporated electric blues, as well as gospel and soul music. By the 1970s, rhythm and blues was used as a blanket term for soul and funk. In the 1980s, a newer style of R&B developed, becoming known as "Contemporary R&B".

I went to uni with a lot of people who have ended up in the dubstep movement
And it's much more like this; the popular stuff is more of a "noise-dance" version.

Yeah, the mainstream stuff is basically un-subtle, mindless shite
But it has tainted my enjoyment of the good stuff heavily.
Just the word 'dubstep' makes me cringe now, and conjures up endless remixes, memes and youtube videos like 'LROD OF TEH RING GANDALF DUBSTEP' and 'EPIC NYAN CAT 4CHAN DUBSTEP REMIX WIN!!!!!'

Faulty sprinkler dampens football fans...
Now I think about it, We keep hearing about the need to "kick Racism out of football" Well isn't this a fantastic solution?
At the start of the match, point all the sprinklers into the terraces, and utilise Mics that pick up stuff shouted from the sidelines, fisrt sound of racist chanting, or a linseman spots someone making an offensive gesture... TURN ON THE HOSE in that section!
Group anger / peer beatings would I assume, soon mean no-one wants to raise the ire of the 200 people behind you who got a drenching beacuse you're being a bigoted tank-spanker!

it's a residential unit like a young people's centre (a modern day kid's home) except it's secure.
ie. it's a locked environment and the kids lose many liberties. in england there are different units for underage offenders and for kids who need to be accommodated for "care" reasons. in scoltand we don't have detention centres for kids. secure units instead. there isn't the divide between justice for children and care for children.

Men have moustaches and beards by default
It doesn't require any special action to grow one, it requires in action to grow one, ie not shaving, having a month where everyone "grows" a moustache is fucking gay, and that where the title mo-vember comes from, as in homo-november.
I don't care that it's for charity, stop destroying the Beauty and power that Is a real man with facial hair he grew because "he couldn't be bothered to shave it" that's honorable!
