I know everyone posts about breakfast and lunch
So I am here to say I've had a motherfucking grilled cheese
Probably 8 margaritas and some motherfucking mac and cheese

At this moment in time it seems important

What is important to you?

Yo K!
I'm back to work tomorrow after four weeks off. Not sure I can be bothered though. So yeah, that's a bit important.

Guess what I'm having for breakfast? THE LAST SLICE.
I accidently had ALL OF IT over the last few days. I didn't mean not to leave them a crumb, and I'll have sturn words with myself next time I get on the scales and it goes "One at a time, please", but it's totally worth it.

OH MAN, PRODUCT IDEA
A set of scales, where every stone it says words instead of numbers, like
1st - "Take your toe off and just step on it"
2st - "You're supposed to use both feet"
3st - "C'mon jackass, you know how to use this thing"
...
9st - "G'wan, have a pie, you could do with it"
10st - "I can see your ribs when you breath in"
11st - "Unless you're a midget, you're a sexy bitch"
...
15st - "Six pack? More like a keg"
16st - "Eating for two? ,)"
17st - "Comfort eating again?"
18st - "One at a time"
19st - "Most elivators can only take two of you"
(, Wed 17 Aug 2011, 9:03, Reply)
I would buy that.

15 stone - "Morning you fat, lardy CUNT!"

20 stone - "AAAAAAARGH, GET THE FUCK OFF ME!"

I find that it's important to chill the fuck out
I had a bit of a freak out a month or so ago. Was worrying way too much about stuff. It's all good now though, things are better than they were and I'm happier. I've also got over the not sleeping without having had a smoke thing as well, which is excellent. It's been years.
(, Wed 17 Aug 2011, 9:13, Reply)
Things always seem much worse at the time, seems to be.

(, Wed 17 Aug 2011, 9:14, Reply)
my reaction was disproportionate though
even taking that into account. It was a series of big life changes though, all happening suddenly and at the same time. All good though.
(, Wed 17 Aug 2011, 9:17, Reply)
Paranoia?
Very good to get away from the dependency on weed to sleep. Ou of interest does you fiancé smoke as much as you?
(, Wed 17 Aug 2011, 9:16, Reply)
There was definitely an element of it
but I've literally never had it before in all the years of smoking.

I am a worrier generally, as are my brothers and my dad, but I think things all combined to fuck me up at the time. I was a bit ill, mrs had an operation, decision to make on the new job etc. All got on top of me, which freaked me out.

She does smoke, but not during the week really. Which I don't either now, and happily I can take it or leave it at the weekend much easier as well. It's nice to know that I'm definitely in control.
(, Wed 17 Aug 2011, 9:19, Reply)
Good for you, I definitely became pretty dependent at uni
And I'm glad I stopped as I did get a bit paranoid. Hope the mrs is ok!
(, Wed 17 Aug 2011, 9:21, Reply)
I've never felt dependent, up until recently
and I sorted it out quickly enough that I've reassured myself.

Frankly, the mrs has a bulletproof psyche, she's a lot better at dealing with stuff than me.
(, Wed 17 Aug 2011, 9:23, Reply)
Why would you want to sleep without first having a smoke?
Lying in bed stoned with music playing is lovely.
(, Wed 17 Aug 2011, 9:19, Reply)
It is
but I've been a poor sleeper for years and years, and found that smoking was pretty much the only thing that helped. It became time to make sure that I could happily sleep without it.
(, Wed 17 Aug 2011, 9:21, Reply)
Ah yes, I was much the same
I used to lie awake for hours if I hadn't had a smoke, but since going through the months of sleeplessness of having a baby a few years back, I developed the ability to fall asleep instantly as soon as I lie down. I guess this cure won't ever be available to you though...
(, Wed 17 Aug 2011, 9:31, Reply)
I intend for that cure to never be available to me

(, Wed 17 Aug 2011, 9:32, Reply)
Lots of things.
Tomorrow, for example, I have a test worth 10% of my overall grade, and I really need to get a good score on it.
On Friday, I have dance class, then I'm going home for my mum's birthday, and will be spending the weekend at home with my family.
So the usual things I guess - not failing, and relationships with other people.
(, Wed 17 Aug 2011, 9:14, Reply)
you'll do fine on the test
even if you don't, 10% isn't much

I was once scored really badly on a bit of coursework that was worth 30% of the grade and still managed almost 80% overall. it's not the end of the world.
(, Wed 17 Aug 2011, 9:22, Reply)
I managed to fuck up almost all of my degree
and still managed to get a 2.1 purely on the strength of my dissertation.

Weighting is bollocks, it stresses you out disproportionately.
(, Wed 17 Aug 2011, 9:28, Reply)
it does
I bumbled along through most of mine doing just enough to get a 2:1 and getting stoned all the time apart from my finals.

It annoys my mrs because I scored slightly higher than she did.
(, Wed 17 Aug 2011, 9:31, Reply)
Yeah I know, I'm just mentally struggling a bit with it.
I can't get special consideration if I fuck this up even though I'm on new lol-meds, because I"ve already got a different time slot because it clashed with work.
(, Wed 17 Aug 2011, 9:31, Reply)
Stop stressing.
Think what would be the worst scenario and how you would fix it. Once you realise that problems can be sorted then the worry about a negative outcome lessens.
(, Wed 17 Aug 2011, 9:36, Reply)
Oh shut up, you'll be back here saying "I got 85%" in a couple of weeks
yet again, stop moaning geek!
(, Wed 17 Aug 2011, 9:40, Reply)
yeah but I wouldn't be happy with 85% if I knew I could do better.

Only the one this year but I think it will give a taste for more.

I went to Latitude a few years ago and really enjoyed it
I would recommend, also Suffolk is a lovely part of the world
(, Wed 17 Aug 2011, 10:14, Reply)
Not to disagree with your liking of it, but
I went last year and did not like it much I went as a guest of a performer, and while being in the performers camp was cool, I found being in the main festival area as uncomfortable.

It's was like Islington had vomited on Suffolk It felt full of Tarquins and Jocastas and while it was all very safe and fine, I did not feel like I belonged at all. Again this is purely personal and not to disparage your view, merely to offer a counterpoint.

Family and friends are the only really important things. Sure we'd all like more sleep, better health, more money/sex/whatever, but in the grand scheme of things those things aren't that important.
However this post is a bit too gay, so I am off to stamp on a kitten to redress the balance a bit.

A good cup of tea is pretty important to me. The one I just had was pretty damn good.

Fucking hell, I love tea.

the wanker penguin lives

Morning all
I didn't have time for breakfast this morning so it was important that someone had brought in a selection of flapjacks to the office (don't care who, don't care why).
(, Wed 17 Aug 2011, 10:59, Reply)
Flapjacks.
Or the 'Swansea back 4' as they are also known.

Lower league humour
sorry, it's a baffling mystery to me. At least they're not the Bristol City back 4, AMIRITE?
