Everyone has an internet persona.Sometimes they're very similar to their real-life persona, sometimes they're completely different. I never met Valin, what with him being a USAian and all, but I always got the impression that what you saw was what you got with him.
On here, he always came across as unfailingly nice, generous with his praise, ever ready with a witty comment and completely bonkers (in a good way). I have a feeling that this is how he was in real life as well. I'll miss him.

Oh, no. Not dear old Valin....that was my first thought when I read this news. I knew he was one of b3ta's more senior members, but not that he was so ill.
You could always rely on him to comment and appreciate others' work with wit and some truly inspired punnery, and, of course, those wonderfully surreal animations were part of the fabric of this place.
