# hehe
I have no clue. I dont own any guns, and havn't shot any, but the whole excerscise here was to see if i could make some thing look like it would at least work. But as far as i know, there arent any pistols that shoot rifle rounds ;)

# i
was messing around wit it, but i dont know Max's mental ray interface as well as i do in Maya, so i jsut faked it with a bunch of falloff omni's with area shadows. hehe, did it work? ;)
(, Tue 6 Jul 2004, 1:02, archived)
# yep, it worked :)
the black surface it's on doesn't do it justice though, it would probably cast some excellent shadows on a nice light background...
(, Tue 6 Jul 2004, 1:08, archived)
# I think that's beautifully done
but if I might make a couple of suggestions (well, you did ask!):

the trigger guard is too small (doesn't look like you could get a finger in there); the handle could curve forward a little less (so you don't shoot low); and (less sure about this) the handle might be bulked up a little.

Of course, that's what I'd suggest if this was a commercial piece (or coursework, say) - but if you just made it for the hell of it, then woo to you, sir!

EDIT: I'm also not sure what mechanism there is to keep the six-bullet-chamber thingy in place, or to let you get access to reload?

The rifle bullets idea is great though - couldn't work out for the life of me what was wrong with it until you posted it above!

EDIT2: One final point - bullets go back a bit into the casing, rather than sort of balance on top like you have it here.

# Thanks
I appreciate the help, and upon looking back at it, i also realize that i dont actually have a hole for the triger to go into, it just kind of jutts out of the bottom of the gun. Thanks for the help!
