polite is good, but asking questions about things you don't understand is good. it's possible to do both.
and that isn't subliminal messaging. subliminal is when your conscious mind doesn't process the information. those eyes are onscreen throughout the entire piece. and the animation is about loss of privacy by your movements and activities being observed. it's not really all that subtle.

I pity the foo that does that.
From my understanding SMTP servers on ISPs only accept mail from people on their network (ie cirtain IP range). But the thing is do they require a username and password on top of that. Mine doesnt give a shit. And does it check the reply to domain tag, which I have never seen done before.

aye - I`ve started up postfix, opened port 25 and tried mailing myself from outside
also tried an online security scanner - port 25 is being intercepted by the ISP; it`s very common

nope.. I`ve fiddled and fiddled and port 25 is a no-go
in fact they also automatically filter all SMB / NetBIOS traffic as my firewall drops incoming and blocks outgoing, but online tools say these ports are being rejected (which I don`t do as it`s a dead giveaway)
ah well!

if you`re using Linux, you should be able to use something like the no-ip client (www.noip.com) and one of their doofers that`ll let you use it
Telewest (where my mail goes - a mate`s machine) certainly is happy about it, and I believe BT OpenWorld (or whatever they`re called these days) will let you do it on a businss account; don`t know about a home account
I might try opening a hole in the firewall here and see if my ISP is happy.. I`ll be Bach!
