software detects banknotes these days

in the same way your printing beaureau's expensive £10/£20K etc printing machines would also do it (as their copies would be good enough to get away with)

and often a service tech will do the demo of "and this is what happens when you try and print money"

photosoup 7 will definately edit banknotes, I suspect home printers over time will realise what they are printing and not print it

of course they might still print it and leave the printer serial number on the printout

but still, it's fun to print out one half of a banknote, write an abusive message on the other side, and put it on the ground and watch twats think they have just scored lucky :D
