This is a link post Death In Paradise – Condensed I made this!
For 14 long winters, Death In Paradise has been formulaically entertaining (or infuriating) sun-starved viewers with its cosy murder mystery shenanigans. I've condensed an average series down to about a minute long.

I'm sure there's some sort of serious statement being made, but as far as I can tell it's a guy in a dress, dressed as a gnome performing interpretive dance to a heavy rock instrumental that's apparently about jerking off mythical creatures from the deep.

I think.

Anyway, I tried searching and the results were inconclusive.

Adds the option to skip sponsored content and integrated advertising in YT videos, and also has a load of other options like skipping intros, credits, and even has NO FUN options that remove in-jokes and post credit bullshittery.

It relies on users timestamping videos so will probably not cover everything you might be interested in, but it has promise.

He should modernise it properly. A projectile is so 20th century. Instead, use two parallel UV lasers to create an ionized air channel to the target - this will allow faster target destruction without the range problem of a long copper wire and a relatively slow projectile.
(, Wed 5 Feb 2025, 14:28, Reply)
This is a normal post Why two?

(, Thu 6 Feb 2025, 11:38, Reply)
This is a normal post Two parallel UV lasers, of sufficient power, will form a nice stable channel of ionized air between them.
A virtual wire, if you will. A single laser may work less reliably, as the ionization will be 360 degrees around the beam. Having 2 of them creates overlap. You do have to remember to place said lasers behind insulating glass, otherwise the zzzzzap will probably kill the lasers.

This is from a 1996/7 "phaser" project, that was attempting to re-create a Trek phaser type weapon to possibly stun pesky perps evading capture, without the need for a projectile used in tazers. It was the size of a car though, so not very practical. It's also not really a phaser, they just used the name to get funding from nerds.

Still, there is no reason one could not adapt it to guide a far higher zap than that needed to stun a person.

This is a normal post I mean, happy for them personally. They deserve it.
Just waffling on with a theory - I reckon there is the perfect size for a band to be, and after that annoyances start to set in with going to gigs.

(I was just looking at their gigs earlier and saw it was only massive venues and cities, and thought it was a shame the mid-sized venues won't see them again.)
(, Wed 5 Feb 2025, 13:39, Reply)
This is a normal post I saw them at the Albert Hall a couple of years ago
it was a pretty perfect size for them and they were doing smaller venues around the UK, I wouldn't say that the (Hammersmith) Apollo was that big a venue and I'll try to see them again this year. I agree though, smaller gigs have an infinitely better atmosphere.
