Nowt but a bit of fun this. A mix comprised of some mashups that I've been working on. Including, among others:
Undisputed Truth Vs Kraftwerk
Gil Scott Heron Vs Jurassic 5 Vs Handsome Boy Modelling School
Buck 65 Vs Peaches Vs Abdominal Vs Kobayashi
Giant Panda Vs Beirut Vs Milanese
Thoughts?

There's a bit of Girl Talk in there from 2:15 to 3:55 - it just worked too well to leave out mix wise - but the rest is all me.

Much joy here. I just found out that Buck has been posting tracks on soundcloud too (thanks Herbie!)

For the kind words and for the link to Buck's soundcloud buzz. Most appreciated indeed. The man's a genius.

Deceptive edits on video and how easy it is.
EDIT EDIT EDIT - new unblocked version is here: www.b3ta.com/links/TV_Tricks_of_the_Trade
EDIT: video is blocked in the UK, apparently. the original title is "TV tricks of the trade -- Quotes and cutaways" by potholer54 on youtube. See down thread for possible links to copies that can be viewed in the UK.
( , Tue 16 Aug 2011, 23:51, Reply)

it's a standard youtube link that seems to work fine for me even after a reload. still doesn't work if you click on the link?
( , Tue 16 Aug 2011, 23:55, Reply)

EDIT: what is the title? We can have a look for another link mebee?

Channel 4 tend to block stuff in the UK that is otherwise available on their YouTube channel or 4od - if you mention what it is someone may be able to dig up a UK-friendly link.

explaining video editing tricks to mask audio edits in interviews. it contains various examples from different TV programs which may be why it got blocked.
one or more of these might work:

but it's late and I need to go to bed soon. will upload later and post new link if needed. sorry for the stupid youtube blocks.

Potholer54 has commented on his channel, saying:
"I'll download a version of the latest video that works for the UK and Ireland -- at least I will when my daughter gets off the computer! Should be done today or tomorrow. I've tested it and people in the UK say it's not blocked. It replaces the Channel 4 film with images and audio."
*EDIT* If you fancy watching another Potholer54 video until then, this one's quite amusing - it's a nomination for the Golden Crocoduck award; the annual award for biggest lie used to perpetuate the creationist cause:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=HO4XvPGdpO8
His channel is excellent, and well worth subscribing to if you're interested in debunking pseudoscience. The Golden Crocoducks are a bit of fun. The other videos are detailed, but engaging and straightforward. Very well explained

and as such will be subject to the same YouTube restrictions.
From your description I'm guessing it's some examples of how editing can completely change the interpretation of a scene, similar to this clip from Screenwipe?

But I liked it a lot. I wasn't aware that TV had that much freedom to misquote people and distort messages using editing.
And I'm really not sure what would be banned from this video - it's a bunch of obscure discovery channel clips that you wouldn't watch anyway.
( , Wed 17 Aug 2011, 0:52, Reply)

Either way, using hotspotshield.com/ lets you watch it.

I was waiting for the next Potholer vid and they've blocked it. Hope he sorts something out. The man is a genius.

and it's excellent. It gives you a lot to think about and watch for when viewing TV interviews. If you can't watch it here, I strongly recommend looking for it eslsewhere.

More car batteries and crocodile clips involved though.
I can't say I've ever seen this show; looks like an early Tiny Toons, or something.

There was something really weird about that show. It felt sad but in a good way.

We see them excluding potential playmates on racial lines, driving a vehicle on the pavement and strict peer behavioural codes enforced by the threat of violence.
'Get-Along Gang' my arse. No wonder it's not on the nostalgia horizon.
That, and it was crap.

News of rail fare increases kind of hit me a bit today. I'm going to be paying an estimated 13% more next year. I commute from Poole to London, but this is pricing me out of Poole unfortunately (yes, silly of me to choose to say etc. etc.). I made a comment on an article this morning and the BBC have been phoning me all day! Anyway, probably of no interest to a lot, and a lot of people will say that it's justified anyway, but hey, we're all entitled to our opinions!
I say I made this, but I didn't, cos the BBC did, but the link up there is BBC radio 5 live - I'm on at about 00:46:40.
There's also Radio Solent. Me at 01:08:00 - www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/p00jg7fs/Steve_Harris_16_08_2011/
And then there's Radio 2. Me at 00:10:10 - www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b0134ymh/Jeremy_Vine_Vanessa_Feltz_Sits_In/
