yes, it's fundamental to the stoics and Lao Tzu. acceptance of 'what is'.
The acceptance to the only truth that there is only what is directly known everything else is conditioned thought ie. all religious thought, theology, ideology, atheism, spirituality, even the minds interpretation of current scientific investigation is conditioned thought

you only think its a cube
Start with a cube and glue each face to the opposite face with a one-quarter turn rotation. Does this gluing produce a manifold? Can the cube be put in a 3-sphere or hyperbolic 3-space so that the gluings produce a geometric 3-manifold? This is called the quaternionic manifold because its symmetries can be expressed in the quaternions (a four dimensional version of the complex numbers with three imaginary axes and one real axis).

Until you can tear and burn the marshmallow to escape the EVIL ONE, it will be impossible for your educated brilliant brain to know that 4 different corner harmonic 24 hour Days rotate simultaneously within a single 4 quadrant rotation of a squared equator and cubed Earth.

Interestingly
Bale took inspiration for the character from seeing Tom Cruise being interviewed on a talk show and described Tom's behaviour as "devoid of anything genuine, fake laugh, fake smile, a kind of desperate attempt of someone trying overly to act normal"....

Cruise would be much better in the part, as this excellent clip proves.
He actually appears in the book, not that Bale would know because he cannot read, his education being severely retarded by reaching the pinnacle of his acting talents aged 12. Cruise also comes across as a nicer man than Bale. Admittedly, there are people serving life terms for multiple violent sexual offences who are widely thought to be nicer, more rounded individuals than Christian Bale.

Maybe he never worked on a major studio film again because he was shit at his job.

I'm betting he was shit at his job only in so far as he inadvertently flicked the hair trigger of an insane monomaniac. And that Bale likes a set with the crew staring at their shoes, terrified.

Bale is a great actor. He's also a total cunt. He gets away with the latter because of the former. If you want film making to be some kind of egalitarian socialist endeavour go watch some fucking Ken Loach.

Great! He's a shit actor.
The turning point in his career was when he lost loads of weight for The Machinist. That's not acting, that's just not eating. Entire human populations have done that simultaneously. It's fucking easy.
The Nolan Batmen weren't successful because of Bale. It's a mark of the films that they survived his ludicrous ham growl. Fassbender, for instance, would have been infinitely better. Downey Jr, Gosling.... throw a dart.
I can't remember a single thing about anything else he's done. That's because it's all shite (Empire of the Sun is brilliant).

I am almost impressed
at how much, and how regularly, Epic seem to be rubbing people the wrong way with this new store.
(For whatever it's worth, and to preempt anyone asking where I stand, I'm just unconvinced by the quality of the actual store/launcher itself right now. They keep talking about Steam missing features when it launched, but they're not competing with Steam when it launched, or even just Steam now - GoG, Fanatical, Humble, Itch etc. all have better storefronts with more utility and more deals for me as a customer than Epic right now.)
