Voleflix 🍿
I made this!
I trawled some lists of public domain movies and put together my own version of Netflix.
There's also an amazing Voleflix Original by HappyToast, and if you add stuff to Your List it'll rate your taste in movies (no arguments, its verdict is FINAL)

Axe-xce-llent!!!
Even got the enomous simulated number of films right by showing one film in seperate categories. I'm also used to seeing the same film with separate titles so it seems even more confusing. AND I remember some kind of playlist of educational movies somewhere in some b3ta newsletter where the copyright has expired. I think I saw an episode of how the hoover dam was built. Quite interesting. AND: What about the Buster Keaton or Harold Lloyd films. Their copyright must have expired after 70 years, as well?

There's one Lloyd and one Keaton in there, didn't want to overload it with silent films though

I told my kids it was just on the news that coronovirus had been called off and they had 15 min to get ready for school
I waited until they were at the door with uniforms on before springing it on them.
Took a nice pic of their faces, but I won't post, as I sometimes get into online arguments with some of our more stalky b3tans, bless 'em

Do the more stalky ones
want you to post more information or less?
If you just post all your information do they still feel like they are stalking you or does it ruin the fun?
Good prank though ;)
If I had kids I would use ice cream to get them to take their medicine.
I would say "That ice cream was poisoned and you have 20 minutes to live"
When they panic I would offer them the antidote.

Just on a technical note
You should never use a general purpose lubricant as it will only attract dirt which will make the problem worse next time. Better flush it out with improperly alcohol and then use a graphite based lubricant.

COVID-19 3D visualisation.
I made this!
Hi all,
I've created a 3D visualisation of COVID-19 cases and deaths over time. I thought you might like to take a look?
There are a lot of visualisations out there but very few that attempt to show changes in case numbers over time. Mine uses data from the Johns Hopkins combined data set and is accurate as far as the data itself is.

The Daily Mailer - A twitter bot that combines New Yorker cartoons with Daily Mail comments
I made this!
A few days ago, the brilliant TechnicallyRon posted the following tweet - twitter.com/TechnicallyRon/status/1243820490541666304
"Keep yourself entertained during quarantine by taking daily mail comments and putting them on New Yorker cartoons to create your own satirical comics."
His examples were great and inspired me to write a Twitter bot that does the job automatically.
So, every night since I have scoured the bottom half of the Mail Online and currently have about 300 pearls of wisdom which are then paired with a random cartoon every hour.
Sometimes the concept works, sometimes it doesn't, but sometimes serendipity produces something amazing.
Enjoy.
