Guitarhero, drumhero, djhero
I honestly don't understand the point. I mean to me it seems to beg the question "Why not simply learn these instruments and create your own music?"

Chickenlady's advice thread
Ask for advice on anything, anything at all and Chickenlady will answer it to the best of her (my) abilities.

I hate talking about myself in the third person it sounds daft, don't you think?

Anyway, what advice would you like?

It's the afternoon and I've had my lunch
Yesterday a child who looked about 13 asked me to buy him 10 Mayfair. I laughed in his face and said "Not a chance". Should I have been harsher to him or is it just kids being kids innit? Back when I was a lad, I was getting served booze at the age of 14, but obviously not in my school uniform, and I've always been of the opinion that if you don't look old enough to buy it yourself, you shouldn't have it.

Discuss.

I'd always suspected that the NME
were a bunch of pretentious shit-peddlers who knew absolutely fuck all about music...

It appears my suspicions have been confirmed. Someone may wish to pre-emptively give Monty some Valium

What utter cockwash. Admittedly the music scene has been in fairly shaky shape for the last ten years, but I could probably think of 10 albums from that period that knock The fucking Strokes into a cocked hat.

Anyone want to disagree?

I consider some of you lot the elite of the elite.
There are people from here who are the best in their field, who strove on to do A-Levels and/or GNVQs.

I struggle to join your ranks, to Be The Best I Can Be, and as such I need to come up with my "Little tag that that you put on coathangers to tell the size of the garment" patent that'll afford me such luxourys in life, one day, such as a lobster supper with chips.

In the mean time (and don't get me wrong, this is a very 'mean' time), I need a regular day job while I come up with this idea.

Anyway, this is quite a long build up for this link: gizmodo.com/5405865/google-quetions-gallery/gallery/1 ; I managed to get one of them without looking at the awnsers, the tringles one.

RIP Ed Triple Wood
A great shame that Edward Woodward has popped his clogs. I thought he was a great actor.

My favourite bit was when he was sitting in front of the firing squad in Breaker Morant, and he yelled "shoot straight you bastards." Not sure about about holding Brian Browne's hand though.

Anyway, question is: What was his greatest role? Apart from being the God fearing copper in the Wicker Man, obviously.

B3ta ladies! (B3ta gentlemen, look away now, ok? - no really, guys, it's girl stuff!)
For the last six months, I've been having sever mood swings and depression, to the point where I've contemplated suicide (don't worry, this is not a "woe is me post!")

6 months ago, I switched birth control - from an IUD to the depo provera shot. It took me until yesterday to figure out why I'm such a miserable cow!!!!
Tomorrow, I'm going to my doctor to verify it (either that or I'm bipolar, but I'm pretty certain it's the shot) and switch BC.

But, ladies, what I want to know - any of you guys had issues with that? And really, this isn't a "woe me, I want attention" anything like that kind of post, I'm just curious as to everyone elses situation?

Mephedrone...
Apparently this new legal designer drug, supposedly similar to ecstasy.

It's still legal here in Australia although it isn't easily available, but I've heard that it's big in the U.K.

Anyone tried it?

Anyone watching 3D TV on channel 4?

Seems ok, not mind blowing. The queen seems like quite boring subject matter, I may wait for Derren Brown later.

What happened to smellovision?

I'm off up the football
The reserves are playing, so I'll be spending a couple of hours in the freezing cold watching a bunch of kids, walking wounded and second raters. Bit like here really, only outdoors with more shouting.

What are you up to?

That is a comment posted on my local paper's website after a fatal stabbing.

Me Me
I'm looking for a 1 bed appartment around MK city center.

They all seem a bit overpriced to me. How much would a 1 bed furnished flat set you back round where what you live?

I hope you lot were nice to him?
I'd have to say his Tesco Value Abortion Clinic (it was a bottle of gin and a wire coathanger from what I remember) from yeeeears ago was one of the things about B3ta that got me hooked in the first place. Go and click on the /talk popular page, I almost wet myself laughing at it just now.

althegeordie's restaurant reviews
Part 1 in a series I may add too when I eat in a restaurant.

The Needoo Grill New Road, That there London (Near Aldgate Tube)

This place was recommended to me by none other than our very own Monty Boyce as it is run by the former manager of the New Tayyabs, which is a very fine restaurant just round the corner.

The problem with the Tayyabs is it gets incredibly busy, I took some other b3tans there and we queued for two hours to get a table, it was worth it, but still, that's two hours of standing drinking beer out of cans while waiting to sit down. In comparison at Needoo Grill when me and the mrs turned up at about 7.30pm, the place was full, mainly with one very large birthday party, but we were the first in the line and waited about ten minutes to get a seat. In comparison, the queue for the Tayyabs at this time was almost out of the door as we walked past.

The food is the important bit though and the seek kebabs were just as good as Tayyabs, and the chicken tikka I think was better, but the mrs disagreed. So I gave her a good talking to and then after she had some ice on her jaw she agreed with me. The lamb chops, the highlight of any visit to the Tayyabs, were okay. They were tasty, and spicy, but just not as good as round the corner. The sauces though, were much better than the Tayyabs, the mango chutney was the same as anywhere else in London, but the yoghurt and mint sauce had far more chilli in that the Tayyabs equivalent, and the spicy tomato sauce was more flavoursome than the Tayyabs.

On to mains, the Dry Meat was fantastic, easily as good as Tayyabs, if not better. Not too spicy, but just gorgeous. The Karai Chicken was also very nice, with the chicken being very tender.

All in all we spent £23 in total on food, which makes it laughably good value, and the service was super quick.

The following day I did regret scarfing as much yoghurt sauce as I suffered a serious double burner, but it was so worth it.

So in conclusion: If you love the Tayyabs but can't be bothered to queue for all that time, try this place, it's almost as good (and in some ways a bit better, but the atmosphere isn't as mental as the Tayyabs). If you've never been to the Tayyabs, go and try it, but if you're too lazy to walk the extra 50 yards round the corner, you could do far far worse than eat here.

All in all 8/10.
