What advice do you have for others?

Alt: I have to go to Leeds today. What's the worst I should expect? What's the worst thing you're expecting today? (Apart from anything to do with my mother of course).

You all probably have long forgotten me.
I was (still am!) the author of this answer to a 2010 QOTW:
www.b3ta.com/questions/letterstheywillneverread/post657589

I left b3ta for ages after that, only occasionally popping in to check if there were any funny links. Never logged in, as far as I remember. So I never saw the influx of private messages I got in response. I know it's close to three years too late, but I'd like to take this opportunity to say something.

Thank you. Thank you to everyone who responded, either publicly or privately. Thank you to the people who said they would think of me, even if they went on to forget the next day. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Although I never got your support at the time because I never looked, I'm feeling it now. I've been in a low point lately, coming up to another Xmas without my son, and the 2010 versions of you have cheered me up.

For those looking for a happy ending, I'm proud to report that I gave birth to a beautiful little girl almost a year to the day after posting that letter, and we're going back for more sometime in the next year. It's more of a new beginning than an ending, but it will serve for now.

Once again, thank you.

Who wants an internet fight?
Yeah? Yeah?

Well you'll have to do it amongst yourselves. Making ice cream and then I'll probably watch a film. Soz. And I've got you all on ignore 2.0 anyway. Except for whichever Legless alt account is currently pretending to have breasts. Lovely breasts.

alt: cheers
alt alt: cheers cheers

This post is written in 5/4 time in honour of the late Dave Brubeck. Nice.

Cheers.

I don't want to be in that thread,
people are arguing and it is harshing my buzz. I've actually had a pretty productive day, despite having the worse hangover ever experienced by a human(possible exaggeration). How was your day?

Alt: I went to the common with the dogs tonight, normally don't as it's really dark. I kept scaring myself thinking about how good a horror movie setting it would be, and then the dogs would jump out the bushes and scare me. When was the last time you caught yourself walking faster, or getting scared about something that really, isn't scary at all?

Mutations
"Popular" film Waterworld unearthed mutations in the form of funny mushroom looking gills behind Kevin Costner's ears. What mutation would you like or like to bestow on another?

What no news link?
www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-20584208

Were you a member of a paramilitary organisation in your youth? Did it indoctrinate you into a cult?

Alt: Religion, eh? What's that all about?
(, Wed 5 Dec 2012, 15:44, 4 replies, latest was 12 years ago)
Hang on, Dozer is one of ours, aren't we supposed to tell Legless to fuck off and make varying remarks that rhyme with "cheers"?
We're not?

Oh.

List things that are more pathetic than internet bickering. Excluding "this thread", "your Mum" and all the times I've been upset on the internet, please.

Alt: Real-life b3ta-fight, who'd be surprisingly tough, who'd be massively tooled up for the fight, who'd get murdered, etc

AltAlt: look at your watch, what do you think?
(, Wed 5 Dec 2012, 12:50, 167 replies, latest was 12 years ago)
Gonz has just reminded me, that I don't know your views on climate change
So quick questionaire.

1: Do you believe that man made climate change is possible?
2: Do you think it's happening?
3: Do you think that as an individual you have to do anything about it?
4: What do you think the result of doing nothing will be?

As I walked out of my door this morning it was SNOWING.

That thread went well
Seems that Sporto’s becoming day drinker, AW seems to have softened in his old age (lack of Viagra)? , and Cavy is scared of what Gazz. Pics. she might be sent. What next?

Alt: What made Christmas the best in your eyes?

Alt,Alt: after adding something relevant just break the thread down in to random chaos.

I have never before in my life worked this hard.

Charity
Tis the season and all, but how much do you get involved in charity?

I never really go past the odd office collection or throwing change in buckets. Just gave some to some sort of save the children thing for this years office collection.

Alt. Worst job you've ever had.

I can honestly say Ive never had a job Ive hated. Though I did get into a relationship with a manager once that got a bit uncomfortable when it ended and I left...

Drinking
Fucking brilliant isn't it?

Tell me your tales of being a little bit merry. scarpe, this is also open to you
(, Tue 4 Dec 2012, 14:36, 97 replies, latest was 12 years ago)
You, and you're the only one in the world who can do this, you can suddenly take a small little pill, and it'll give you any one single tallent of your choice, and you'll be the best in the world at whatever it is.
Usual rules such as "Making more pills to do the same thing" are excluded. You can also give this pill away to someone if you'd like, such as a loved one.

And in a second question, which is the exact same thing, but you're not allowed to ever make money doing it, would you change the tallent?

Alt: lunch?
(, Tue 4 Dec 2012, 12:18, 176 replies, latest was 12 years ago)
'I'm going to shock you now...'
Tell the class about something you like (or dislike) that might surprise people who think they know you.

I'll start: I have a secret liking for 'Midsomer Murders' and the quiz programme 'Pointless'. Whilst I rail endlessly about how shit things are on here I am in real life a fairly jovial fellow with boundless enthusiasm for a great deal of things.
(, Tue 4 Dec 2012, 10:05, 260 replies, latest was 12 years ago)
Morning benders
Tell us all of your remarkable, but hitherto unmentioned, personal skills. I for example can do mental arithmetic with impressive speed and occasional accuracy, a trait much less well-publicised than being able to suck a golf ball through a garden hose.

Alt: Take a mega-rich mobile and broadband network, add a film crew and a seasoned Hollywood actor and somehow you end up with an utterly shite advert that screams "Kevin Bacon isn't getting enough work". What gogglebox oddities are winding you up at the minute?

AltAlt: Why did Dozer get stepped? There must be a LOLarious tale to tell there.
(, Tue 4 Dec 2012, 8:27, 176 replies, latest was 12 years ago)
So Dozer has been stepped
and Will and Kate are having a baby.

Which of those two bits of news do you care about less?

Alt: Favourite item of clothing or shoes ever.
