i thought that was quite funny
as the announcement seemed as niave as the thing it was railing against yes what the west does plays a part but then if all their leaders didnt spend their time nicking money land and property, invading each other, practising nepotism and cronyism, making police states and opressing their population then the place would probably be better. i really don't think giving them more money through corrupt channels is going to help anybody (except the elite)

1) She was an aid worker. Ken was a worker (for money). 2) Margaret lived in Iraq for 10 years. Ken went over there to make money....in a war zone.. 3) Ken went over there, not only knowing the risks, but not giving a thought to his family who were rightfully devastated. In conclusion, I make the distinction because Margaret was selfless. Ken was nearing the opposite of selfless, and yes it is a terrible thing that they both died but look at the facts - who had more control over their fate in the time leading up to their deaths?
(
Spunkmeyer ,
Wed 17 Nov 2004, 16:35,

Wish I knew what made Ken dying so amusing..
Because I can find no reason to laugh at his death, or hers. But I guess I must be inhumane, or just stupid. :)

No...
I see Spunkmeyer's point. Both deaths were inexcusable, yes. But where Hussan was a charity worker trying to help the Iraqi people, Bigley had only gone because he could get more money than at home.
