I sometimes paste on top and hide the layer whilst it's still selected and just cut using the layer underneath as a guide. wow that's interesting innit?

Shame Meta Creations disapppeared (with all their drop shadows). Kai Kraus's idea was to make very simple packages that just do the things you want, without all the complicated stuff, so everyone would be able to use them. I saw him give a talk once and he was great. Big 'tsache.

I don't like the interface either to be honest - much prefer os9, but i appreciate why x is better, stability wise.
i used to use a pc, it was utterly shite. I'm amazed that the very stupid people in the world seem to be able to manage with something so ugly and unintuitive. (I mean the general population. not you, by the way!)

I'll admit that PCs take a much longer time to learn, but I've been working with them since I was six, and I find that they're much more versatile once you get used to them.
So it's settled:

these days, if parents are buying their kids a computer, they'll go for a pc cos they can afford it. i know that's why i was brought up on them (amongst others that died out).
my dad was one of the first people in the country who got to play with first generation macs, and he loved them, but he went and became a teacher and so couldn't afford them.
but anyway, you usually end up being most comfortable with what you learn first.

A PC makes me feel as if I'm actually IN the computer, especially with games, it's much more immersive.
