They want someone with some wit and fire in their belly, not an insincere sounding depressed sixth former.
The correct response would be telling Boulton to fuck himself, it's not about who I am, and it's not going to matter who you are when shit starts getting real.

The problem is until we are all-knowing; all our "science" about "the future" is uncertain.
We're taking odds on our existence - because no one has "track form" - we haven't run this race before - and it's far from over I suspect.
But all of politics is a gamble at the future. These kids will grow to understand this.

Have we modelled the human brain yet? No? Oh, but we're doing the planet?... and we're saying where we'll be in 20 - 40 - 50 years time?

....and the planet will go on regardless.

The "optics" problem is that ER are all awfully nice middle class types
- and predominantly white. It looks like an outing from Waitrose who want to be a bit rebellious because they think climate change might affect the price of their homes. They can afford to be there and afford the changes to lifestyle they DEMAND. The poorest don't have that choice.
We do have a problem with destroying the planet, but the elephant in the room is population. World population is currently growing by 83 million people each year, but no-one mentions that. It's easier to blame ourselves for CO2.

Greatest threat to our planet is overpopulation.
As Frankie Boyle once pointed out: "if people truly understood how fucked our planet actually is already, they'd save up their Tesco's carrier bags and use them to suffocate their children"
We are well beyond the point of no return; we don't need carbon taxes we need mass human extinction.
If this is seen as a bit radical, how about more widespread availability of birth control, and derision of those who want large families (as promoted by most of the major world religions...)?

I like Frankie Boyle
But there is still time before the point of no return.
It's fine in the context of a stand up routine, but it'll drive some people into apathy and fatalism if we start saying it like it's true.
Also yes, in terms of individual actions, fewer kids has the largest impact.

Even now birth rates are decreasing in the West as living standards have increased. One can imagine something similar occurring to other countries as people become more comfortable and less concerned with making babies all the time.

it's just your standard Stereotypical behaviour which happens to animals subjected to barren environments, scheduled or restricted feedings, social deprivation and other cases of frustration, but do not arise in ‘normal’ animals in their natural environments.

The reseachers aren't sure if the mice started running in circles because of stress or for fun, as they do on a running wheel. The mice were healthy so the researchers think it was the latter and not unlike astronauts working out, or to stimulate the inner ear for comfort. One piece of info omitted is whether any were hunted and eaten by an astronaut bored with their space diet.
