Best soap opera of all time?
or
Long running bore fest?
Personally for me, it was one of the best TV programme's ever broadcast. Brilliant characters and character development, excellent dialogue, cheap sets, gripping plots, funny AND grim in equal measures and always entertaining. Well, OK, it did kinda taper off towards the end when the likes of Bea and Lizzie left, but it still maintained a high level of watchability.
I keep meaning to torrent every episode, but even with a 10Mb connection, I would probably be downloading for years.
10/10

someone further down the page has deleted one from a thread and I can't figure out why. Unless they were upset they didn't get replied to.

Who else immediately started thinking of One by Metallica?
On a more serious, less-Hull-related note, that is quite possibly one of the most scariest things that could ever happen. An absolute horror, if you will.

What happened to white dog poo?
I think it may be a combination of changes to dog food and more concientous dog owners, or maybe little elves altered the dog food formula so that the poo only turns white at night at which time they sneak out of their little elf holes and snaffle the white poo for nefarious purposes.
What's your theory?

Tonight I'm going to pick up my car, eat strange curry dishes, smoke a few joints then go get beered up in the local.
Tomorrow will probably involve shopping or doing stuff around the house, joints and getting beered up.
Sunday have the launch party for my band's CD, which will be interesting...

I have 'obtained' 20 of those blue disabled stickers and they are calling out for all manner of jolly japes. I have already put one on the back of an Audi A4 after the nobshiner cut me up in Tesco car park.
What should I do with the other 19?

So then, Gary McKinnon, the QOTW poster and hacker of the Pentagons website to make it say I love Horses, is looking set to be extradited to the US as professional arsehole and former postman Alan Johnson refused to get involved with the case.
Is he right, should this chap actually be flown to america to be roughed up and sodomised by nasty merkins, or should he be dealt with here, where he actually committed the crime? Tell me your learned, or just daily mailesque opinions.

My next door neighbour just jumped out her window! Thankfully she lives in a bungalow so she just has a bruised foreskin.

My upstairs neighbor just got taken out of her apartment in a body bag. Deaded as dead can be. She topped herself apparently!
I'm waiting for the police department to interview me (I don't know her!) for a statement.

I have a lot of experience. Last weekend I single handedly moved DiT and his lovely wife to a much nicer part of that there London and today I moved my office from a shitty new town to a lovely little village only six miles from my house.
I think my unique selling point will be that I will move your stuff while also being a horrific bully to you.
Do you think I've got much of a future?
Edit - okay, becky has just got shitty with me so I feel I should probably point out that becky helped to carry some clothes between the flat and the car.

I chose well.

I'm going to see Dragonforce supported by All That Remains and Glamour of the Kill on Saturday at 53 Degrees in Preston. Oddly enough I'm miles more excited about seeing All That Remains because, in my opinion, they are a miles better band.
Have you been to any gigs where you were looking forward to the support act more the the main act, or the support act turned out to be better?

So, I'm getting married next year and the future wife wants me to wear a wedding ring. I really don't want to wear one as I hate wearing any kind of jewlery and it will look fucking stupid on my hand.
She says it is a symbol of our love and it's important for other girls to see that I'm married. I believe that i have the will power to tell other girls I'm married if they look "hungry".
Am I being a difficult, is it normal to wear a wedding ring?

Do you storm right in and order a load of treble JDs, a few pints and a bottle of vino then throw it down yer neck and head back for the same, or just treat it as if you were paying as normal and pace yerself?
I should be half cut by then, as I finish at four, it starts at eight and I'm on the pop straight after work...

Does it exist, do any Betan ladies suffer from this, and if you do, do you admit to it? Or do any Betan men suffer the fall out from it? The wiki page on it is quite interesting and tries to put an evolutionary spin on it, which I think is pretty believable.
"A variety of evolutionary rationales for the syndrome have been offered, including that it is an epiphenomenon due to the selective advantage accruing to other phases of the hormonal cycle, that it leads to "intensification of male ardour during the next onset of fertility", and that it prompts females to reject infertile males (who cause PMS due to not impregnating the female). "… an infertile male/potentially fertile female partnership would tend to break down, thus allowing a new pair-bond to be formed. The greater the degree of premenstrual hostility of the female, the sooner a fertile mating could ensue." Any theory would have to account for the persistence of PMS over substantial evolutionary time, as it appears to afflict baboons as well."

the sweet stuff with loads of caffeine - I've recently tried it for the first time, and it's not too bad. I read with interest the warning on the back though - "2 cans max. daily"
Anyone ODed on it, that is, exceeded the recommended dose by a fair whack and . . . something happened?
... I say this because I'm now on can number three and my head hurts.

I'm in jolly spirits today. Must be my new pants.
How are you doing?
just noticed on some junk email from compare the market that there is a petition to get "simples" into the OED. Fuck that shit. Those adverts were mildly amusing at first, now they are just crap.

Next week I have a "Club foot breakfast" to attend and bake for. 100 or so little kiddies with clubfoot (talipes equinovarus) we treated at work in the last year. I'd like to bake something relatively nutritious, as well as a sweet. Anyone got a sure-fire recipe for little people?
I've thought about savoury pancakes (in novel shapes), and perhaps some fish cakes - bearing in mind, we'll need some dishes that are vegetarian, pork free, kosher, halal and possibly nut free; I'm pretty sure someone will request gluten-free as well.
Any ideas?
thanks,

the spirit of asking questions- what should I do with this relatively minor point of manners.
I've just been invited by (facebook invited) to a birthday luncheon of a friend by his girlfriend. I really don't know him well- I like him immensely as a person but we certainly aren't close in the least, and I've met his girlfriend a grand total of once. However the facebook invitation is small- about 20 people or so, and both of them are very popular, so it's not a mass invite if that makes sense. Should I doublecheck with the girlfriend, accept or just ignore?
Anyone else had any tricky moments today?

Not that that's necessarily a bad thing.

Hi,
I was just wondering if anyone could recommend me a decent media centre drive.
Thinking of buying my dad one for xmas. He saw my Media Centre PC and quite liked it how you can just select what you want and it comes on.
So im looking for one thats nice and easy for someone who isnt tech savvy to use. (He's 65!) Doesnt matter about loading data onto it. I'll do that. Im just interested in the screen navigation and using it being nice, easy, and clear.
Probably will get him a 1TB one. Should keep him quiet for a bit. And busy as he's just retired also !
So any advice on some good ones would be great!
Thanks in advance!

Yesterday, I had my long, flowing red locks chopped off and now have a very short, Rhianna style haircut.
It's prompted me to get my shit together, I spent all day cleaning my apartment, put makeup on and in general I feel way better about myself 'cos I've been getting "real life validation" about the haircut!
It's Thanksgiving tomorrow, which will be a fun day (Happy Thanksgiving to the American contingent!) and for the first time in quite a long time I'm Manning The Fuck Up and feel good about myself!
What's cheered you up lately?

I have a snippet of lyrics in my head but I'm not quite sure of the exact words.
It's someone that sounds like Queens of the Stone Age (or actually them) and goes something like "I'll sleep when I'm dead, or in a magazine"
on the word dead the guy singing kind of lowers the pitch a load. Not a great explanation I know, but if I knew more I'd be able to find it on Google.
Anyone got any ideas? It's driving me nuts

So it's 30 days to Christmas. Are you going to be getting wasted to numb the horror of ten days with your family, hibernating to avoid it all or are you going to embrace it and spazz till the 25th like a coach full of mongs? With friends, family or alone with a bottle of Jack?
